The bonfire only exists in the remastered version. It was the only one added in the remaster. Just saying incase anyone new to the game is playing the original version and is confused.
Just passing through to mention that it isn't worth it to min max the scaling. The soft cap is 40 to Str and Dex. After that the diminishing returns make it a waste of souls, put the levels in Vitality and Endurance instead.
I was so ready for the burger king foot lettuce after those first words and now I sit here broken and empty, the words never spoken will leave me brittle and hollow for the rest of time.
It is a bit of a barren area aesthetically, so maybe it was left as is due to the time constraints they were under. It's a nice little hidden section neither way!
Especially bc the catacombs suck, and any time not spent there is good. Same with blighttown. Do you know the trick to get to quelaag’s super fast? I literally only spend like 5-10 minutes in blighttown total each play through. It’s amazing.
That is the titanite demon and most souls game players know about the bonfire. And if they don't most peoole leave messages so they know how yo find it so at this point its not really a secret
While it is true that this location is surrounded by floor messages that pretty much give away its secret, a lot of players chose to do first playthroughs offline to prevent spoilers from the messages. Also, due to Elden Rings popularity we now have A LOT of new players who are trying Dark Souls for the first time eager to learn things that are new for them
“Try lightning” is probably a reference to the gaping dragon. Domnall of Zena sells resins in the depths near the boss arena. It could also be the dragon bridge or bell gargoyles “Try light” must have referenced the catacombs or below. They may have intended it for the depths but someone playing without a guide would not have access to a light source until after fully traversing Blight Town.
Damn, I can't even remember how many playthroughs I had till I found this. Very easily missable. There's also a couple of Divine Blessings on the lava close to this location that are easy to miss, too.
I found Lost Izalith a huge pain during my first playthrough as i completely missed this bonfire location, and didnt discover it until my 2nd playthrough. The runback from the Centipede Demon bonfire to Bed of Chaos was not a fun one!
@@libralonix Not to flex, but this is week was my first time playing any dark souls game and I found almost every single one by myself. I hit a lot of real walls along the way, but there’s some really obvious signs of an illusary wall. The only ones I think I didn’t find on my own were Quelaag’s (the one to the bonfire and daughter of chaos) and the one in anor lando (where havel’s armor is)
#19 - The developers want you to explore the area. I feel like people really hate blighttown because they are just rushing to get through it as quickly as possible. If you take your time getting there naturally as if you don’t have a master key, it’s really enjoyable. Except the toxic blow dart mfers.
Funny enough I actually invaded a new player who didn't know about that bonfire. because he was already fighting the Guardians so I made him follow me back to that bonfire and showed him where it was. This was 7 hrs ago. You gonna show off the sword and shield you can get from in front of the undead dragon. The shield is quite good if you get early on but the sword if I remember 80 physical 80 magical damage with a secret effect of holy which allows you to harm the ghosts in londo without using a curse. Little bonus note you can harm ghosts using paramount seat down there as well.
Good to know their are still Mr Guardian Angels like yourself willing to help others in the game! Regarding the sword and shield by the Undead dragon, I have amrecebtly done a video which includes a rundown on the straight sword of astora, but I haven't as yet covered the shield (I'll add it to the list)
@@libralonix to be real with you. i really liked ds2 because its different from the awesome trilogy. i sort to accept its identity and i ended up liking more than ds1. and yes, i played all the soulborne games but i havent finnished elden ring yet.
I feel i have found a kindred spirit! While its not my favourite, i do love DS2, and massively appreciate the differences it has from DS1 and DS3, it feels more gritty and dark, more in the vein of Demon Souls or Bloodborne.
From the blightown sewer bonfire head to the left side of the area and go up the tree root. You can check out my other short in this series #3 Blighttown 1 or the full 15 Dark Souls Areas Video to see the route
Couldn't be arsed to look for secret areas all that much in a game that ACTIVELY PUNISHES THE PLAYER for their desire to explore the world the dipshits designers created
Not every game is for every gamer, that doesn't mean it is badly designed. The world design of DS1 is renowned and praised in the gaming community. While all opinions are welcome on my channel, I must insist that you refrain from insulting people, that form of comment is not welcome at all, and will result in a ban if it happens again.
I didn't know about the increasing drop rate of the skull lantern as you kill more necromancers, that's very cool! I wonder if any other item drop rates are set up this way or just this one for its function
Someone commented on another video about a similar mechanic with killing the mimics to obtain the symbol of averice, but I havnt had chance to dig into this yet
You didn't even touched in the reason anyone should have at least 20 of these by the time you reach Sen's fortress. As it turns out, everytime you open a mimic you're guarateed to get the item the mimic was holding, but also you have a low percentabe of getting the Symbol of Avarice as well. Most people don't know about that because the drop rate is not high, and if you didn't grt it to drop by the time you open the last mimic of the standard game, you're guaranteed to get it as well. The secret is: Everytime you OPEN a mimic, you get the chance of getting the symbol, and by using a Lloyd's talisman to open the mimic without killing it, you can just punch it one time and then use another talisman to put it to sleep again, essentially farming for the symbol of avarice, that for those who don't know, it's a head gear that drastically increase your item discovery, aka drop rate, as well as your souls gain. So by using the symbol of avarice you don't need to wear the covetous gold serpent ring and can use another ring like rusted iron ring to quickly run through the blighttow swamps farming your precious large titanite and green titanite shards from the giant leeches.
