Personally, the house is too low and an architect who suggested this height needs to be sacked...it should be at 20 feet minimum to allow clear, unobstructed flow of water and debris...and so water does not impinge on the sub floor and the services like sewer, water, power, gas housed under a floor ...I wouldn't use timber outside, steel is best as timber over time will warp, crack, split and lose integrity if its exposed to water plus its high maintenance and not cost effictive in the long term ... as for the garden imagine replacing that every time it floods, one a year or more...
I would agree with that, architects first designing their own home and going through it and then doing it for others, only makes sense? Thanks for sharing, place looks amazing ❤❤ love the stainless steel countertops you use 😍 and what do you feel? To me the space feels super cosy 😊 lovely actually
Funny thing about this home, you go outside into the local streets and you’ll get stabbed by an illegal migrant with a machete, accosted by some African descended gang members, phone stolen by a chap on an e-scooter, and told you’re not halal by a Muslim… lovely London 😅 Oh, and told you’re not allowed to say all that by a woke leftie, then jailed by the government for saying it…
INCREDIBLE! Stunning! Amazing. And yes fascinating. What an incredible building and indeed achievement. Dream stuff. Surely must be one of the most noteworthy living spaces in the UK? Landmark design. Thank you so much for bringing this amazing building to our attention.
Space, light, materials, nature, and decoration are elements of design, not principles. Elements are the building blocks and principles are the rules/guidelines, such as balance, contrast, rhythm, and proportion. If you propose to educate a general audience about design, then the vocabulary of design matters.
Architects with a BIG FACE AND ATTITUDE, a breed that things it is more superior to anybody else...just sone big mouths, delivering some projects ... Never even mentioning that they many times take absolutely poor decisions projected unto families and society...just look around what small houses we have around the world, even in the 21st century!! They litterally think we should have super small houses and they are incapable to project the real needs of people into the housing and society and cities!!!! 🥴🫤☹️😠 ...they can not even imagine (without a huge discrimination inputed) how everyone can have a proper large home ...or a double story penthouse.... ...well if there is space for skyscrapers like in new york and chicago..for sure we could all have PROPER LARGE HOMES WITHOUT DISCRIMINATING THE CRAP OUT OF EVERYBODY!!!! 👍Just self centered big face architects do not know that we can all have proper big homes. They do not want to create even a job to another person or give proper salaries, or to ease access in architecture...not to create us ALL big homes...let's be honest!!! Plus they just want to create to others what they think is "their styles "...so not what the client wishes 🎉😊 Can't watch this...architects and the big faces they have 😌🥴
I watched it four times and still can't figure out what I'm looking at. I don't like any of it. It doesn't look DONE. It looks rough and like it needs to be finished up. It's so incredibly ugly! 😢
I found this home to look too messy. I'm all for bringing nature into the home - that's how I designed my home as well - but nature is also defined by order and organic spaces. This home was too filled with trinkets and a lack of breathing room to feel natural to me, like weeds overgrowing everything. Although that can also have its charm.
I remembered replastering the entire house, i lobed the look and feel of it, the only element that made me change my mind to paint it was the smell of dust emitting through it. Not sure you experience the same with your plastered wall
Matt, at 8:25, for some of us who are neurodivergent the orderliness of straight lines in the home actually calm the amygdala stress response, not trigger it.
Love the charcoal shed and the planting. And bringing nature into the home and vice verse is always a good decision. I also think the man with the glasses is quite attractive- but probably he’s also quite straight and obviously married…but one can’t have everything I guess… ,-). Greetings from Germany and thanks for all your interesting videos!
