I like to save money, who doesn't. But I also want to become more energy independent and lower my monthly energy cost. I am not totally off grid but I want to move in that direction. When there is an emergency and the grid is down I want my lights to still be on. These project videos are my way of showing you what I did, how I did it, and how that change is working for me and my family.
Me either bud, unfortunately now where i grew up they have cell service. Just happened in the last few years but i hated it and still dont care for it. Pre internet generations: Wouldnt trade it for the world Post internet generations: heads explode
I actually watched a video recently about a town with no cell phone service and no internet because of some government thing. A person drives around testing to make sure no one is sending out a signal.
In my opinion I feel that people who use fb to either only talk about the best of their lives or the worst are lacking interpersonal relationships to where they can vent or to get validation for their lives that they don't get in person
@@MissouriLife23 a chain and a good tug is all you need with a lot of those old building clean ups. Idk where you live but I'd torch it if I saw a copperhead hanging around lol I haven't seen the other videos of the start but I'll check them out.
You clean up pretty good! 😊 And I wanted to say how nice the wedding looked. The couple looked great together, and your Daughter was simply beautiful. Congratulations to the new Mr & Mrs!
😅 @@MissouriLife23 I just saw a coffee cup at Cracker Barrel that said "my mind thinks I'm 25, and my body thinks I'm an idiot" or something like that. 🤣
Daaaamn Son, that music was LOUD. Had to turn it down and watch for you to start talking so I would know when to turn it back up. That music sounded like something you'd hear in an old porno movie back in the 70's. 😅 Or when Starsky & Hutch was sliding around the street corner chasing a bad guy.
It didn’t sound that loud on my laptop/headphones. I even lowered the volume during editing. Thanks for the heads up. Wait…..there is music in porn movies???
The neighborhoods weren't safe it's just that media didn't cover kids being taken as much as they do now considering that in the 40s and 50s the age of consent was 7 and didn't move in to 12 until much later kidnappings weren't covered by the local news. Some of your little friends that may have went missing and thought to be Runaways, weren't.
@@transcendence8888 I would say that’s probably true that the media painted a different picture of the world at that time. Today it seems the media has completed a 180 and really only reports negative stories. The street I grew up on in a small town in Missouri was pretty safe.
When I was a child (when Moses was a pup), we had work to do. If my mom thought everything was accomplished, THEN we could play. My mama could always dream up one more chore. I retired years ago and still waiting to be a child. 😊
Sometimes I wish we never had internet. It messes with our adult attention span and on the fly thinking skills just like kids but were lucky we got through our young adult years with these devices
Agreed. Even us Millennials rode our bikes to the park every day getting into mischief. Kids these days are doomed. And that's what they said about us.
Don’t get me wrong, the internet is a great resource. I have learned how to do many different things because of the internet. But fresh air and sunshine is awesome!
I sometimes feel like younger folks give up too easy. Or if they do not know how to do something it is easier to quit than to learn and increase their skill sets. Just my opinion.
I'm not saying millennials will save the day, but I do get asked by elders what is going on with today's youth as millennials grew up with a much different Internet scene albeit more tame and crafted.
I miss the days of my childhood more than anything else in life, no worry, no responsibility. Just wake up, go to school, come home, enjoy the great outdoors
Very true. And I understand the world around us has changed. More child predators and other horrible things but I do believe, with some parent supervision, young folks should spend more time outside. Thanks for the comment!
You are very correct! I used an old phone that had a decent camera but the battery only stays charged for an hour or so. I had some glasses too and they worked great.
I just got one last year and now i feel like i need 30 more lol. So many plants. I learned from a farmer that if you put lemon grass into the rain barrel it will prevent bugs from living in it. I also, from a little bit of experience, have learned that i have to clean the barrel every couple of months....
Great advice! I am going to build some flower beds and a small garden and I want to use that non-chlorine and non-fluoride water from mother nature herself.
@@MissouriLife23 next time indirect heat things like dogs. If it’s flaring up and flaming then move them away. Grilling is more of an active process rather than set and forget. Just keep things moving on and off the heat as you go and you’ll be fine.
@@MissouriLife23 it’s usually best to just set up your fire on one side of your grill. That way you can have a direct heat and indirect heat side. No need for aluminum foil buddy. Fattier meats will flare up much more because the fat will drip down and ignite. Just have a hot zone and then a cool zone on your grill and move things as needed. That’s basically it! The rest will come with experience my dude. Get an instant read thermometer too for cooking meat. Those are clutch for getting internal temps right.
@@AntwonDaBusiness Thanks for the advice. I used to use a gas grill but have switched to a charcoal grill and it seems very different! I will try that out next time.
