Hi my name is Harris Panagopoulos and i am from Athens,Greece. Congratulations for the video! I saw this video (VW UP Gearbox strip and repair (knocking in reverse) - VOLKSWAGEN). Spare parts where can I find? I mean gears, like yours. Where did you get it from?
That is true for a DSG box, they usually only sell the clutch kit and mechatronics separately. This video is for an Up! though and it’s a manual gearbox, not a DSG? So all parts should be available for replacement.
Hi mate can u help I got passat cc 2009 1.8 tsi and I got a faulty code po221 don't know what that means. Throttle pedal position sensor switch bcircuit?
to compliment this great video could you please add a section on how to set the gear lever when reinstalling, as this is causing me an absolute headache
There is very little adjustment, if any on the bolt holes of the aluminium block. So not entirely necessary. However, if the wheel alignment had previously been adjusted with worn bushes it would be prudent to get it checked and adjusted.
Hi mate I followed this and replaced the complete gearbox with clutches in 2014 polo. Now when I try to start it’s always in gear no matter which gear I select . I even disconnected selector cable and moved the pin manually but it never goes in neutral or park always in gear. Please help
Hey! Amazing Video! BUT didnt you switched the rotating Plate below the the car - with that one side straight for the moving bar and the other slightly leaned angle one ?!
THE go-to video on YouToob for making this replacement. I used both-thumb pressure only to push home each bush on the ends of the pivot lever rather than opt for the pliers. 🙂
Hi, this is a great video well explained and have you done a video to remove an automatic gearbox. I have worked on cars but never replaced a clutch. I have a VW UP 2013 Automatic and the clutch is slipping. After watching your video I have started to remove the clutch. I have removed all the top bolts, a stater motor. I am unable to remove the bolt from the stater motor bell housing. I am not sure which wire looms/plugs to disconnect and how they are secured. Tomorrow I am going to remove the oil, drive shaft, and all the bottom bolts. Also which clutch should I buy, the listing says semi automatic or manual gearbox operated by a control unit. What oil would you recommend. Thanks
Great video to come across, thanks. I know this was recorded a long time ago but are you able to describe which way round the collets go. My 5th gear disintegrated so the collets were loose. I can’t quite work out which way round they should go i.e. central dip facing inwards or outwards. Any help appreciated.
You need to carry out a basic setting. It will work without doing it, but will not run as well as it should and could potentially put a code in for no basic setting.
Hi, I’ve not long taken ownership of a 2019 VW 1.5 DSG evo bluemotion and this coasting thing in my opinion is ridiculous and here’s my issue. In eco or normal mode with the start/stop turned on to stop the car from cutting out and starting every time I stop the coasting facility still causes the engine to stop and then start again and the only way to stop this is to drive in sport mode. I’m no alone with this as several Golf and Skoda owners have posted the same thing. I have access to a new VCDS unit but need to fine a suitable coding to switch the coasting feature off.
I do mention in the description for the video that not all the bushes were delivered / available when the job was carried out. The vehicle was needed back on the road and it was changed at a later date.
I'm sorry but I cant, the job was done a very long time ago and I no longer have the vehicle information to look it up. If you contact any Volkswagen dealer, they will be able to supply the parts. Some dealers can be funny about giving out part numbers over the phone though.
You can have contradicting information in the key. It would only be a concern if both of those were applicable to the same wire though? The through I would imagine just means that if your car was manufactured during November of that year, this applies to that wire.
The wiring diagrams were edited using Adobe Photoshop and they were blended together using the editing software Hit Film. Sadly there is no actual wiring diagram software that I am aware of that operates like this. Although that would be pretty awesome if it did.
