????? WHAT Year?? You have maybe 10/15% value INFO FOR THE CONSUMER CROWD!! DURD! Arrogant DURD! Or you have No father to correct those character flaws. So much of what the world, especially in the US are & suffering from for 40+ years.
The badge was worth more HP than the intake and exhaust mods. Just kidding. Intake is cheap. Probably the reason EVERYONE does that. Exhaust can get pricey. The only way you’re really going to get your money’s worth on intake and exhaust mods is if you’re doing a camshaft or adding forced induction. For the money a camshaft is way cheaper than a turbo or blower. Of course if you do either of those you should do a tune. A tune alone might get you 20-50 HP. And if you go too crazy with any of them you’re going to need a transmission and torque converter. The electric fans are worth a few horsepower and relatively cheap. If I were just looking for a little HP in my 5.3 I would put in a mild cam and tune, electric fans and maybe an intake.
It was damn near 16sec no spray n bout 12 Sec spraying 4l80e is cool if your a cruiser or boost but I don't think you had enough power to be racing the 4l80e
Metal tube vs plastic doesn’t make a difference. The air is traveling so fast threw tube it doesn’t have time to heat the air. A cheap intake is as good as name brands in most cases anyway. Iv used both and ill be using cheap if i buy again. The ebay filter is reusable no oil needed like K&N. Does ebay filter as well idk but definitely no dirt buildup in my intake tubes or in the throttle body.
Iv used both brand name cold air intakes and cheap. The cheap long as it has a good heat shield is as good as anything. Even if ur worried about the filter not being best of quality. U can always buy a better filter like a K&N my opinion is spectra is just as good half the price. Spectra has great cold air intake system for reasonable price.
I love these! I have a set on my XC90 V8 Sport (pretty heavy vehicle) I live in Maine so I get the snow, rain and “off-road” plus a bunch of highway ..best tire I’ve ran, I’ve had to work hard to break free in the snow😂
Mine does just fine ACCEPT for overdrive. That’s when it needs a bit lower gear in the axles. It wants to downshift at slightest grade like I’m dragging a trailer behind me. The first 3 gears are fine but OD needs a bit more rpm at 55mph and up. I have 6 inch lift with 35x12.50s 4.8 V8 and 3:73. The 4.8 doesn’t have good low rpm torque and wants to wind up high to make its power ( shorter stroke than 5.3 but same bore size). I’m thinking 4:11 should be plenty but might go 4:56. This truck isn’t for interstate travel anyhow. Oh it’s a 2001 regular cab step side Z71
I want towing power in the mountains. Don't to far, but hate towing and dropping to 40mph , with doing fine at normal highway. O4 silverado1500 2wd. What to do with towing. Got larger trans cooler , suspension. What's next.... seriously help. Contact me. Only have 10200 on this 04. I don't overheat, just low trans power, it boggs down. Trailers I tow are at the most max are 1000 lbs less than max loaded. I watch tow rates. Had a Dakota years ago that towed same trailers dd better with a v6. Help
Are you really paying for if you buy k&n is The sticker that they provide when they send you the kit which means you can pass smog in certain states that have smog regulations like California where I stay that's what the difference is when you're spending the bigger buck if you buy the eBay kit you're going to have to swap out your aftermarket air intake kit and put back in your stock intake so you can pass smog inspections
I got a 03 Silverado z71 5.3 rough idle lacking power black smoke flashing check engine light. I've changed plugs, wires coils and fuel pressure regulator and got new AC Delco sensors and ejectors ordered and will be here in a day or so. I question is did your truck have these same symptoms before you changed your O2?
Had the same thing happen to me it was hell getting it out but I ended up putting the drop shackles in had to sawzall the shackle off I ended up buying a new one of the one I cut in case I wanna put it back on
I cut & installed a swimming pool noodle onto the heat shield where there were air gaps that used to allow too much hot air to get around the heat shield.
I love the red-neck wiring on the "steering wheel switch" -- LOL. The rest of the wiring under the hood is living proof that "anyone can do it" -- LOL.
i went building too my denali from the past that never was a blast too...... not bad mods we had to survive the beasting in court on waltons network and Carnivore rome.
