Through these teachings that I have been blessed to prepare, I am hoping to hinder the great biblical famine that is occurring in our world today as the apostate churches grow throughout our land. It's simple; If your bible has changed Proverbs 18:1 to read that you should not get alone with God and fast and pray then it is a PERversion from the pits of hell.
I read the KJV. When I find a word that I’m not familiar with I use a dictionary or context. The other versions also use complex language the NIV. There are some obscure Hebrew words in books such as Job which are a challenge to bible translators.

Silly Christians ~ The celebration was not a depiction of the Last Supper. It was a recreation of the religious festival in honor of Bacchus (a Roman god). Participants engaged in activities of divine ecstasy to achieve communion with Bacchus and other gods. That included ecstatic dances, uninhibited behavior. Maybe read more books????

Thanks for your humility in this detailed and gentle explanation/comparison. I came here looking for exactly this and learned so much more! I have always used KJV but came across NKJV study bible for women. While it seemed easier to read, I felt convicted by the Holy spirit to Look deeper into the NKJV for accuracy and possible omissions. So, I started to research on the internet and fell into a rabbit hole of contradictions and accusations etc. My research found only conflicting comments and reviews, but no real answers- until I found this well thought out, honest comparison video. Pastor, it's an important conversation you're having with us, it's appreciated. I was not aware of everything you mentioned, but personally, and I think this might speak for a lot of people, I just use a KJV/NKJV Parallel Bible so when I run into a word or passage I'm not sure about, I read the NKJV equivalent and then I get the gist, I believe. I'm personally trying to simplify everything and frankly all of the disgreement and controversy about pretty much everything in Christianity is very troubling. At the end of the day, I can have converations with: Orthodox, Catholics, Baptists... Methodists.. and agree on the basics and I know where to stop as I want harmony and fellowship. I basically agree with Robinson & Pierpont. That being said, I also agree with the KJV translators themselves in what they said regarding other translations. All the core doctrines of the Faith are found in both the traditional and critical texts. The Gospel is clearly stated in both. I could go on about the reason and function of language itself and etc. but, as the translators of the KJV said, they ARE the Word of God. We need to remember that, before the printing press, only the wealthy could afford an entire Bible. Also many were illiterate and gained most of their theology from the liturgy, confessions, the minister’s sermons and the like, the first two having been thrown out with the bath water in many Evangelical churches today. We have a wealth of English translations today and you should read one you understand. I use mainly the KJV because I have been reading it for almost 60 years. I do check the underlying Greek and Hebrew words using Strongs so I can catch any English words that have changed their meaning, but that is 60 years of habit. So, if you are starting your Christian walk read a Bible you can understand, and rest in the assurance you have the Word of God. The KJV translators say so.

I agree with you 100%. Jesus Christ will judge them that are in the world. Our job in the faith is to go forth and spread the Gospel to those lost. I have always used the KJV and NKJV in my preaching and Bible studies. I have always said that the KJV is more exact to the traditional text (which doesn’t remove the equivalent of 1 and 2 Peter from the Greek and Hebrew) while the NKJV is more instantly understandable. Both use the same traditional text passed down to every generation. Some English words translated in the KJV have changed meanings but are still exact from the 1769 understanding of those words. There are those who lie about this and this is why I am sharing this truth as every Christian should. We should all be people of the truth. The truth shall set you free is what the Lord said.

The basis of KJV Bible is the Textus Receptus of Desederius Erasmus. And Erasmus based his Greek translation from 7 manuscripts only. Whereas many modern english translations today like NKJV, NASB, CBS, ESV, MEV, LSB, NET, NIV etc…are based their translations from almost 26,000 manuscripts. KJV included many scriptures which are not in the original, they are marginal notes wrote by many who copied the scriptures to clarify certain things in those verses. Therefore modern english Bible translations did not actually remove many scriptures. It’s the KJV bible that added many words which are not in the original 26,000 manuscripts. Therefore Modern English Bible Translations are not satanic, but reliable, because the basis are oldiest more reliable manuscripts.

I appreciate your balance on this issue. After I graduated from Bible college after using the eclectic text for the three years of my Greek classes, I began using the Textus Receptus in my study and sermon prep. In the early 80s, I began using and preaching from the NKJV. Several years later when I was pastoring a church in rural Georgia, an elderly man in our church, who was basically illiterate, told me that he had never understood the Bible preaching from previous pastors until he heard me preaching. He meant he understood God’s word because of the Bible I was using - the NKJV. The central issue is communication. God wants His word to be communicated and understood. The NKJV helps do this while staying true to the traditional text. Keep up the good work!

We can tell by your contributing the doctrine of the Faith of Christ to a Calvinist belief that you know very little about the doctrine. This doctrine defeats Calvinism rather than springing from Calvinism. No one in scripture could/can go to the Throne without being washed in the shed blood. No one was chosen before the foundation of the world. Jesus had Faith that God would raise Him from the dead. We are justified “through “ faith. Rom 3:30 We are gifted this faith. Eph 2:8 This most important doctrine is lost in new versions. Had Jesus not exercised His Faith in God by submitting to the cross; we would all go to hell.
Look at the page in your bible that lists the contributors. Then, look up their biographies. This should tell you the doctrinal leaning that is in the study note of your bible. I really like the Thompson Chain-Reference Bible. It's not really a study bible, but it is an excellent reference bible that helps you to use the Bible to study the Bible.

I have to point out at 16:02 you falsely state the new Bible's translations are putting in "Gender neutral"... That is wrong. They made it "gender accurate". For example instead of saying God created Man they said "mankind"... They aren't making the trachings woke.. they are making it easier to read and accurate. The discussion about gender in translation focuses on the words “man/men,” “father(s),” “brother(s),” “son(s),” and the masculine pronouns “he,” “him,” “himself,” and “his.” When these terms occur in the Hebrew and Greek texts of Scripture, translations that are being exact to the original text use corresponding masculine terms to translate them into English and other languages. But in less exact translations, translators replace masculine Hebrew and Greek terms with gender-neutral terms. A gender-neutral term is one that is neither exclusively masculine nor feminine but includes both genders and if you make a male term into a gender neutral term, it is not as exact to the original text. Some modern translations do this more than others. The NLT and NIV are very notorious for this.
The NKJV is probably the best translation, but all modern Bible mistranslate secular Koine Greek words into English religious-sounding words. There is no Bible version that doesn't do this as far as I am aware. Gospel - correctly translated as "good news" from the Greek. Apostle - correctly translated as “sent one”, such as Paul and Peter the “sent ones”. Deacon - correctly translated as "servant". Bishop - correctly translated as "overseer” or “elder". Pastor - correctly translated as "shepherd". Word (in John 1:1) - correctly translated as “logos”. Logos means ultimate truth and wisdom; universal and beyond view or God's view, as opposed to human understanding. Logos did not mean “word” to the Greeks, as modern bibles mistranslate the entire idea and meaning. Epistle - correctly translated as "letter". Doctrine - correctly translated as "teaching". Homosexual - correctly translated as “homosexual sex”, referring to the act, not the person. God is not against people. Rather, God is against what people often do, including fornication, adultery and homosexual sex; all three listed together in I Corinthians 6:9. “For God did not send his son into the world to condemn the people, but that the people through him might be saved.” Disciple - correctly translated as "follower" or "student". Preach - correctly translated as "proclaim" - anyone can proclaim the good news of Jesus; no religious cemetery degree either needed, required or desired. However, one should be very careful regarding anything in the Bible, that they understand and teach others correctly. Church - correctly translated as the “assembly”; the people who believe in Jesus and have his spirit within them. An assembly of believers is not a building or a religious or other organization--it refers to the actual people who believe in Jesus. “Upon this rock I will build my assembly. . .” Saint - a saint is someone who has been made holy by being washed by the blood of Jesus. No pope or other human being can make anyone a saint. Only Jesus can make someone a saint. And we cannot make ourselves a saint by doing good works or refraining from certain things. Only through forgiveness from Jesus can someone become a saint.
What you are showing here is that the original Hebrew and Greek words can have more than one meaning. This is the translators job to bring the best meaning into English or the language they are translating it into. I have found that the KJV 1769 is the most exact while the NKJV is the most instantly understandable and both these translations are using the traditional text passed down to every generation unlike the many who remove such large portions from the Word.
@@PastorScottIngram No, that is not correct. I'm aware that Greek words often have multiple meanings, but this is not the case with any of the words I posted. Modern Bibles still use Old English words like gospel, church, disciple and similar, which are not in the original Greek. It is never okay to change what the Greek means in English. Jesus is deliberately secular, eating, drinking and associating with sinners and the common people, while railing against the conservative religious leaders of his day. And this is the secular way the koine Greek is written, which was the language of the common people. Jesus called it his assembly, not his church and he called it the good news, not the gospel.

Well how about the a little addendum that the King James seems to add in Matthew 5:22-24 where it adds the phrase "without a cause." That seems to justify being angry with your brother if you have a good reason does it not? Fact of the matter is given what Christ did for us on the cross none of us have a reason. People talk about the verses that they think are being removed and they say we shouldn't remove things from God's word but in that same passage in Revelations it says we shouldn't add to it either. I hear no one who advocates the KJV talking about adding verses. I'm not trying to be rude and I don't want anybody to be rude to me but this is how I see it.
Do you realize that if we are never allowed to be angry, and anger is a sin, then Jesus Christ is a sinner just like the rest of us? The Bible clearly states that He got angry at the money changers who were making it difficult for the poor to come to God and ran them out of the temple with whip. That which you think is an addendum, is actually very important in our understanding of how to deal with anger and the fact that Christ is our example and perfect sacrifice for our sins. By the way, there are many who are claiming that the Bible added verses over the centuries. This is why the new translations simply cut the equivalent of 1 and 2 Peter from the New Testament. Only the KJV and NKJV, of the well known versions, retain the traditional text. I encourage you to study deeper on this topic. I have many videos and playlists on it here on the channel.
One difference between the KJV and most modern versions concerns the very basics of our salvation. Sadly to say many preachers and Bible teachers don't know our doctrine of salvation, therefore they don't miss it when it is gone. The difference is whether we are justified by our own faith in Christ (which can ebb and flow) or are we justified by the gift of the Faith of Christ. Once again it's very sad most preachers have no clue, or if they do, they prefer to use the former as a milestone around their congregations' neck.

I like atudying with French / Spanish/ German versions and KJV. But very few will study Math 27:52-53. I just bought a brand-new KJV only because I needed larger print (old age!) and now I can read my Bible for longer, and it's a treat to be able to do so. Sometimes I use a NKJV if a passage isn't clear to me, but always use the KJV as a final authority. What I found out is the KJV has lots of details, but are missing from other versions, which make the story clearer or more interesting to me.

The KJV is good, but not perfect. More than once Young's Literal Translation, which is also from the Textus Receptus, is clearer in presenting the deity of Christ. See below. 2 Thessalonians 1:12 YLT- that the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and ye in him, according to the grace of our God and Lord Jesus Christ. KJV- That the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and ye in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ. KJV adds "the", separated "our God" from "Lord Jesus Christ". Titus 2:13 YLT- waiting for the blessed hope and manifestation of the glory of our great God and Saviour Jesus Christ, KJV- Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ KJV is unclear, but Young's is unmistakable: Jeus is here called "great God". 2 Peter 1:1 YLT- Simeon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to those who did obtain a like precious faith with us in the righteousness of our God and Saviour Jesus Christ KJV- Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ Once again, Young's is clear, but KJV is clouding a clear sound-off for the deity of Jesus.
Geneva Bible, is the closest to true word we can read. Stand up and tell the truth, The Catholic Church are not follwers of Jesus Christ. Every one runs from the truth. More history is needed to be studied before giving your opinion about such a sensitive thing. The Catholic Church is a Cult. STUDY YOUR HISTORY !!!
Yes and No. That we are saved and have everlasting life entirely by God's grace alone, which we have received entirely through our faith alone in Christ Jesus alone is 100% unfair: We ALL deserve to be damned; but salvation is not predicated on God's justice, but only God's love.
NLT was the first Bible I read cover to cover. It’s a decent translation but I do believe it tends to soften sin and sometimes it does the interpreting for you. One area NLT does a great thing is the way it puts measurements into things like yards or feet rather than say cubits. Or the way they write out numeric words such as 144,000 NLT vs KJV - an hundred forty and four thousand ~ Revelation 14:1 Those kind of things help clarify a lot and/or make things easier to understand.
I think that is a very fair evaluation. The only thing that I would add which is really important is that the NLT uses a translation base which removes many verses. This is why I prefer the KJV or NKJV because they have the entirety of the traditional text.
