Cool video and just fyi: I rode(practice weeek) at Mammoth in '95 and it has changed a bit. The "big" downhill after the start was actually BIG(steep) and took a hard-right-90 to the inside of the tree on the right at the bottom. It was super-easy to overjump. They've rolled the top off quite a bit since then. Definitely safer tho... 🤪 Also, the two tabletops in a row on the way back in were just booters on to flatland. If you sent it hard enough you could stay well-ahead of the guy that stayed low. Awesome track and scenery. Thanks
I was wondering if that track had changed. When I first saw the track I was not impressed. I remember seeing photos from the late 80s and 90s and it looked so cool but this years track looked tame. Maybe they will change it for the pros but the opening week track is really tame and I guess that is good for non pro riders so they can have fun and good racing. Thanks for the info.
Man I love racing I had a friend ask me why guys like cars. I know for myself, it’s that feeling of piloting something that is far more capable than yourself alone. Even though cars aren’t the most capable, they are quite practical and therefore have found their way into almost all of our lives. The the one extension of self that we can all relate to
I only stayed around Test 1, I was trying to bounce around getting riders going out and going in but since there was only two speed test it didn't work that well. Next year I'm going to ride my motorcycle and video that way.
Cool seeing the track still there. I was a corner flagger there a few times back in the early 70s when it was CZs and Maicos and Huskys with a few Bultacos and Montesas..... I raced E st. too.
