I just found your channel, and i got to say, you are awesome for making sure to mention much needed care tips for each variety of tree. Good on you. This is great info.
I planted one In my back yard. Probably 30ft away from the house and maybe 20 ft away from our detached garage. I can't wait until it gets a little bigger. I wanted something to give us some shade on the deck in the summer months, and obviously for the beauty in the fall. Also, I love to be able to open the windows during a summer thunderstorm and hear the water in the leaves and the sound they make in the breeze. It's amazing. Had to have a bigger tree like this.
That is not cytospora canker. Cytospora canker will show up as red on the callous wood where a wound is healing on spruce. What you are showing with sap running and the bluish color is Pitch Canker. It is treatable
Thank you for posting this. I'm looking at putting the Sienna glenn in the back yard. It will be facing west and I'm in zone 5a. Will that be enough sun for it? Thank you.
This is a beautiful tree, but I'm concerned that my neighbor had one planted in her small suburban front yard (planted about 20 feet from the street, 20 feet from the house, and there is also a main street sidewalk and another sidewalk up by the house). 30-40 ft really should be the max size for any trees planted around here. This sugar maple will become enormous.
what is the model of that unit he is using in the beginning of the video I'm looking all over online trying to find that unit to buy with no luck. Thanks for the video
@@CapitalCityTreeExperts yup, same thing with the nasty aphids we have around here now. …they’re so gross, ozzing their sappy butt juice all over the place… but it keeps the ants busy at least 🤷🏽♂️🤦♂️
I planted a cherry blossom tree about 2 yrs ago. It took fantastically. Looked great this year as well, right up until about 1wk ago when it suddenly died. Bizarre. Strange thing is that I planted a mini evergreen tree in the same spot 4yrs ago and the same thing happened. Looked great for 2yrs then dramatically died. The spot is in a flower bed with about 3 other small bushes(some as close as 3ft away and no problem). None of which have died and all have been there for years. Its like one corner of the flower bed is the Bermuda Triangle for trees.... the death zone for trees...... I wont plant there again. Shame coz both trees looked great there b4 they died. The cherry blossom in particular was a beautiful(and expensive) tree. Any ideas what the problem in that 2ft x 2ft square of soil could be ???? Maybe bad soil or drainage(altho its a slightly higher part(not by much) of the bed..... Also the bushes nearby are small so their roots wouldnt be big and their very close to each other and havent killed each other so would be strange if they killed the tree roots which is further away. Im gutted the cherry blossom died. Was looking so good.
Yes I have successfully germinated autumn blaze maples from the seed .there a soft maple so the produce seed in the spring. All of mine have a nice red to orange fall caller too.
I know this is a 2 year old video and I know it’s basically just an ad for your business… but just wanted to say, this little short video offers the most simple and direct description for identifying cankers. I’m in Indiana… every Blue Spruce is dying here now too from this. Such a shame. They are wonderful trees otherwise.
Look for any ISA Certified Arborists in your area and even better any company’s that have been TCIA accredited. They are all ethical, trained and will be able to help you. Thanks for watching and best of luck with saving your trees.
I absolutely love this product/service... they came and identified every tree on my property and provided me with a list of benefits, concerns, and a few planting options with the aerial map. Great price too.
Thank you for watching our videos and we are in the process of making many more, some of them go into greater detail as well. Thanks again and feel free to visit our website for more info on Tree Health at CapCitytree.com, cheers!
No our growth regulator (Cambistat) inhibits primary growth (length). Not so much secondary growth (width or girth). I hope that helps answer your question. please let us know if you have any other questions and thanks for watching. be sure to subscribe to our channel for access to all of our exclusive videos.
These things are very invasive. They are constantly flocking to our grape vine and trying to eating all the leaves. I have ladder set up near the vine and every so often I go outside my backyard and take a bottle of water and scrap them of the leaves where they fall into the water and eventually, drown. But I just ordered a couple of traps online and hopefully they work well in catching them. I would not go so far as just to say "manage the population". Kill as many of those things as you can if you want your plants to live a healthy live and have a good harvest. That is my take on it.
