We need a Robert Lloyd BBC sessions (Prefects/Nightingales/New Four Seasons/Terminal Hoedown/Nightingales (again)/ Lloyd - Bean) box set more than ever!
The session did get a very limited vinyl release a few years ago, but quite pricey today! www.discogs.com/release/4020504-Mandrake-Paddle-Steamer-Overspill
Saw them around this time, Bethnal Green Working Mens Club. My mind was blown when last year I realised I lived round the corner from Terry Miles in Hackney! Some bloke
🎉❤😢😢j'ai depuis longtemps aimé la musique malienne surtout la musique de Oumou sangaré, malgré j'entend pas ce qu'elle chante mais n'a jamais m'empêcher d'aimer wallahi billahi
Love these other versions of these songs besides the 1965 album. Never heard these versions and it is really great to hear them here. I think Jackson could have made it to great levels in the music world had not so many, many dark roads engulfed him along the way. His talent was superb as a singer, a songwriter and guitarist. Too many bad things he had to face on each and every road he walked. It is sad beyond sad - his life with only a very few happy times, mostly his times in England. I often wonder if he ever sang with Sandy Denny, his girlfriend for a little while. Maybe they sang together informally at times where they lived in London in the 1960's but never recorded those songs. Can you imagine Jackson and Sandy singing together? My God, it would have been something to hear.
