Hi @dantedanis, this video is one of many we have on ShadeFin. We have several videos that show how to set it up and take it down. I encourage you to check out all our ShadeFin videos on our ShadeFin playlist here, ru-vid.com/group/PLkX0r8nN1X5ir6--bqyH29zVpvNtjAM7t&si=T75wY5ExsSnbM8lF. Hi @captainadamvalle5548. Thank you for your question. This is on Captain Ray Rosher's boat of Miss Britt Charters in Miami, Florida. Captain Ray said "these are Penn Fathom 40 narrow lever drags… High speed model". Please let us know if you have any additional questions. Have a great day!
Hi @lostboys2600. The backing plate and post all come together in the mount for the Semi-Flush Mount. You can learn more here: tacomarine.com/canvas-shade-store-shade-store-t10-4000-11 Use code TACO10 for 10% off on tacomarine.com. Have a great day!
Hi Matthew. Thanks for your comment. For clarification, are you referencing the Rub Rail or the metal railing on the gunnels? If it's the latter, you'd need to ask the manufacturer.
@@TACOMarine The actual metal railing, I was wondering where you had it fabricated, since those boats do not come with rails form the factory. Thanks! I have been seeing that Panga in a few of your videos.
@@matthew_harris Thanks for clarifying. Let me ask the boat owner to see if he has any insight into the railing. I will post an update as soon as I have more info.
This was the most complete, well done video on any rub rail project. I have a 2005 Boston Whaler with the exact style rub rail, but slightly larger. The rub rail is in good condition, but I'm getting leaks in my interior - time to remove & reseal. Is there any problem with simply removing, cleaning, sealing old set screw holes and reinstalling screws in new places?
Thanks, John! There should not be any problem with sealing the old holes and installing screws in new places. In fact, that is what most folks do and what we have done in other Rub Rail installation videos. If you need additional information on how to replace your Rub Rail, please don't hesitate to contact our Tech Support team at this form here: tacomarine.com/technical-support. Good luck with your Rub Rail Replacement!
Another great video, HOWEVER, did I miss something? The title of your video is "How To Easily Set Outrigger Trolling Speed" I never heard you mention trolling speed??
What is the max winds it can function in? Secondly, do you have to disassemble unit from rod holder when moving to different spot or can it just be folded down when moving?
Hi @BigScribs. We do not recommend using ShadeFin Mini while under power. However, it has performed well in 25 mph winds when anchored, at the sandbar or drifting. Regarding removing from the rod holder mount, yes, we would advise it be disassembled and stowed when moving.
What’s the max wind it will preform in. Secondly do you have to disassemble unit when you run your boat to another spot or can you just keep in folded position in the rod holder?
Thanks for your question. What to do with the slack line is often a personal preference to the angler, but many use our Outrigger Line Caddies. The caddies enable the line to be securely wrapped while underway or for storage. Here is a link to the caddies: tacomarine.com/sport-fishing-store-outrigger-accessories-f40-0030bka-1 Other anglers like to wrap the slack line around tower railing or even a cleat. We've really seen it all and it is entirely dependent on personal preference. However, the caddies are a great solution to keep the slack line up and away from the deck and to help eliminate any tangling. Please let us know if you have any other questions. Have a great day and happy fishing!
Did you think of this ? Put thermometers under a white one, and a black one. Put thermometers under these : a black underside with a white top. A black top, with a white underside. Experiment. Example I have done : I painted a wrench gloss white, and a wrench left original polished chrome. Well, I was able to hold on to the gloss white wrench, but had to drop the much hotter polished chrome wrench. Fortunately since I am only one of 1000 people on this Planet that think logically, you will be able to sell your hot shade devises to the majority of people, especially the vaccinated ones. Here's an example of logic : We've thrive on a planet of germs for; I don't know, say 187 trillion years without going extinct. Then suddenly, over 100 years ago I think, vaccines become supposedly necessary. Keep in mind, history books have been edited(altered by very rich ones behind the vaccine, who have bought out publishing Co's for the very purpose of exaggerating history ). We have thrived to the point that some people think we're over populated - these very people are putting out a vaccines to ? SAVE ? us. Really ? Seems logical that these people would be using the vacc to depop, because if the so called " virus " was so bad, they'd just keep their mouths shut. But, of course, they can't have all who take the vacc, dropping dead immediately, because people would not take it. One way to stop pop, is to prevent birth, another way to get rid of people is to put radioactive particles in the vacc. It can be calculated by ' time and exposure ' as to when radioactive poisoning will take place. It will conveniently be diagnosed as cancer ( is cancer, and radioactive/ xray poisoning one in the same, hmmm ? ) Here's a way to make selected, and randome ones ill : put a remdesivir pill into a vitamin bottle. Remdesivir poisoning has the same symptoms as the so called ' covid 19 '. The person goes to the E.R. , and is given remdesiver. Now, even if that person called up a lawyer suspecting that the vitamin bottle was tampered with, how would it be determined that the bottle contained anything other than vitamins when there were just one pill snuck into the bottle( rockinfellows own drug manufr's ). Even checking the patient for poisoning, will show what ? Of course, it'll show remdesiver - because the hospital, under the enemy's protocol, ordered remdesiver to be administered. ( rockinfellows bought out the medical education system over 100 years ago ).
Thanks for your comment. Actually, the black ShadeFin Mini did a fantastic job at keep us shaded and cool. It did not get hot under the shade. We tested this for hours in the hot Florida sun. We also have the ShadeFin available in white if you're still worried about black.

This episode was good. I couldn’t understand (hearing issues) the rod models on the Long Range Planning video or which model jigmaster 2000. Simplifying for a Yankee captain trip and want to try slow pitch. Are 8’ rods needed

Hi Mike, Love your shows! I just saw your mangrove episode on SUNSPT TV. I've been doing exceptionally well with mangroves on a wreck here in the gulf with 16" - 24", and literally throwing back anything under 16". I have locals down here that don't believe me. I am using knocker or more fish-finder rigs similar to the heavier setup as you suggested, with shorter leaders. Reasoning is I am pulling them out of big structures with a ton of predators, the structure itself, and all the large by catch as well. My question is, do the jigs you are using have circle or J hooks? The reason I ask is because of the laws here on the gulf regarding live baits on reefs? I've never used a circle hook jig in my life, and do a ton of jigging for tautog, and never gut hooked one in my life. Please let me know and is there any technique I should know of if using a jig with a circle hook. Feel free to email me privately at jsweeney1400@gmail if you like. I fish the Gulf, LI Sound and Montauk/Block area. Thanks again for your shows - I've learned a lot down here from them.
