@@BadaBadger I tried to do the majority of this playthrough with pistols only, to save ammo for the harder enemies. I nearly resorted to using another gun for that panther as it easily hurt me.
@@muldrake Ah I think I must have gone back the long way accidentally. I checked Stella Lune's walkthrough and that says to go to the top of the ladder.
Thank you for this video! I got stuck at 15:40 while playing the game. Lara couldn’t jump high enough and grab the ledge. I tried sprinting like you did but nope, still couldn’t grab it. If anyone has the same issue then this is what worked for me: stand next to the wall and press hold and forward and she will grab it automatically(worked for me on Xbox)
@@user-le3dz4ce3i yes, that is the way to do it. Jumping up doesn't get you quite as high as pressing action and forward, for some reason. I believe it was the intended way for the second secret in TR1: Caves.
@@Jabberminor thanks for the info. This is my childhood game and I was always too scared to play it so even though I am familiar with it, I never finished it or even came close to that, that’s why I was confused 😅 thanks for the good work and walkthroughs
Do you mean the corner bug? You face the corner at 45 degrees, crouch, so you're in the corner, and jump up. I only did it this way as that is the only way to get all the pickups, especially as you're not meant to in this level.
@@nategotti76ify Thank you. It's not a great level to play. For me, it's because there are other factors that affect your gameplay, like the human allies.
Je ne sais pas si c'est à cause d'une mise à jour mais cette strat ne fonctionne plus : il y a pas moins de 3 raptors qui apparaissent là où sont parkés les mercenaires et impossible de rejoindre la fin du niveau avant que l'un d'eux ne meurt. Ou alors j'ai loupé un truc.
Thank you so much. Currently on the remasters and I’d never have found the 3rd one. I seen the alcove on the outside of the balcony and thought I needed to get up to there. I see now, I needed to push the block from the other side into it. I remember back in the 90s before internet having to ring a prerecorded hotline to get the locations of these. Then my mum going nuts when the cost of the call popped up on the phone bill. Ah the good old days lol
My favorite level in 3. The atmosphere and design brings back lots of memories. I played the demo of this level repeatedly and then played it in the full game. It's interesting to note the changes from the original demo to the final version. Overall, I'd like to play the remaster specifically for this level. Thanks for the showcase!
it's also my favourite level, back then in the late 90s there was a huge UFO/alien trend thanks to X-Files, Independence Day etc., so when this level came up i was all hyped to see some aliens. I love the atmosphere but like the level before i think the coloured light in the original looks a bit better
Aspire quit fuckin up the game man can’t even jump over to get to the next level 🤦🏾 ( update not sure what happened but I had to push the lever 2 times in order for me to get to the next level not sure if this was Aspyrs fault or just a glitch in the game sounds like a glitch in the game)
Did not level skip. Avoided all lasers, including the bottom of the ramp ones. Never triggered a turret. Didn’t lock onto one with weapons drawn. Didn’t get injured by the red moving lasers just in case. Trophy doesn’t pop and run through the level 3 times now. Any ideas? Luckily i can clear the level in 16 minutes so it’s not a pain to do.
You haven't used the all weapons cheat either? There is also another one that wasn't in the video that someone else mentioned. It got added during a patch.
No cheats. The only thing i can think is that i shot down the turret in the level previous just after getting all my guns back. But in other forums and videos, the trophy is only specific to the Area 51 level
Making sure I didn’t do something wrong.. my game must have glitched. I picked up all 3 cogs and it says I only have 2. Went through all 3 places and there’s none on the ground.. guess I’ll have to do it all over again 😪
You get an archievement (Codex of China) for collecting all secrets in China levels (include Tibet levels) "The Great Wall", "Tibetan Foothills", "Barkhang Monastery", "Catacombs of the Talion", "Ice Palace", "Temple of Xian" and "Floating Islands"
omg i somehow forgot to pick up the first secret after moving those blocks, do you know if i can backtrack to the beginning? seems like there is no way back up again (where you jump into the water, with the satellite dish on top)
I can't remember for sure, but I think you can get to the normal entrance to the prison, then go up the stairs to the blocks. If you can get to 07:30, you should be fine.
@@Jabberminor I managed to get back up there via the corner crouch glitch (finally a reason to learn this), but after I got back to the 3 ventilators there was no way back
the lighting is a little bit more atmospheric with the old graphics in this level. i like the cold blue and gloomy red of some rooms a bit more than the modern lighting
I dont know, but this trophy refuses to pop even tho I kill every guard multiple times before they even see me or have a chance to even run at the switch.
@@Jabberminor yeah, this is one of the biggest design flaws for me. Loosing your weapons beofre going to antarctica with no chance of getting them back is so unfair
i'm softlocked at that jump too, how can you curve so hard? modern controls make it hard cause i don't know how to do that short back hop and i'm unable to curve that hard, i always land on the slide. EDIT: got it, if you let go of the jump button you can curve better
