Everyone in any other place looks down on anyone who lives in la or California for that matter. There’s a stigma that won’t ever change. People outside of that place stay far away for a multitude of reasons.
It is true that we work to live and not live to work. But do not think that this is a country of lazy people, here we work and work hard. That a country can afford to provide services to 82 million tourists plus 50 million nationals, at the same time, is not achieved by taking a siesta. Being the second country in Europe in the manufacture of tourist vehicles, leaders in green energy, having a first-rate agro-food industry and an important pharmaceutical industry, is not achieved by drinking beers. But if at 6 in the afternoon, we are drinking beers with friends or family, it means that we have worked enough to be able to pay for them and dedicate the rest of the day to what is important. Which is living.
I agree, please do not mistake my commentary for "lazy." There's a beautiful nuance between when to work and when to rest. Such a concept doesn't exist in the West. It's a "culture shock" only because in the US, work is the center of our lives to no end. There is never a sense of enough... and it's often stressful. Spain was a nice change of pace that showed that there was another way to live. One where there is balance for family, friends, and joy.
Heyyyyy it's the Spain girl. I think Recommend just popped up. And it reminds me of when I was living in Pasadena. I used to go downtown to The Last Bookstore. Cool. Glad to see it's still open. Funny coincidence bc like 2 months ago I was planning a final stop from Malaysia to Spain and I wondered what you were up to.
Hiiii, thank you so much for supporting my channel! 😄I love it when the algorithm is doing it's thang. I've been great and wish you the best on your travels. Also, a pit stop in Spain is always a great move. Drink some vermut and claras for me 🍷
Congratulations, very good video, well explained, honest and passionate, I love to see that you really feel happy with us. I was born in Barcelona, like my entire family and I lived until I moved to the Costa Brava. Barcelona is no longer the wonder it was in the last century but it still has flavor. I don't know if you still live here, if so I will tell you that I have always heard that you can go anywhere in the world but you will never live as freely and well as in Spain. I love being a good cicerone, you can contact me if you need anything. Kisses from the bay of Roses.❤❤
thank you so much for such a kind and thoughtful comment. I had since moved from Spain, but I'll be back to visit sometime soon. All the best to you and yours -P🤍
