I'm Godfree Roberts. I live and work in Thailand and I've been coming here since 1967. I've written three books about retiring in Thailand and helped hundreds of folks get settled here painlessly and quickly.

@@GodfreeRoberts Really? Are you a world-class economic and investment analyst? My sources are and they predicted the demise of China years ago. China is a joke. That's what the real numbers indicate, as confirmed by credible, unbiased experts.
Unfortunately it doesn't work this way. Men in the west are slowly coming to the realization that a previously married vvoman with children is a poor investment. The insult injury here is the expectation that we be ok with the fact that she still has a Thai husband. So beside the facts we're provisioning "used goods" we can expect no loyalty? Thai vvoumen are out of their minds.
Odd choice not to name these people, or give any sort of background for them. You're presenting them as authorities but without telling us why they are.
He offers an often-quoted disrespect for Thai women by foreign men. And is in my opinion totally disgraceful and racist generalisation. This video should be taken down by the channel owner, for the racist slur.
The guy values his own independence more than a relationship, either by DNA, upbringing or choice. But is nowhere close to the reality of a deep feeling and giving relationship. I have been married to a Thai for 50 Years. Marriage is the hardest task you will undertake. It needs work, will, and most of all forgiveness.
Thanks for the very interesting and informative video. I've had numbness and some discomfort in my outer thigh for about 6 months. It started when I was doing a deep quad stretch and I suddenly felt a sharp pain and burning in the thigh. I immediately came out of the stretch but have had the symptoms ever since. Could Meralgia Paresthetica be caused in this way? Many Thanks.
@@GodfreeRoberts Thanks ever so much for your reply. You say MP is temporary but I still have the symptoms after 6 months. Sounds like I need to buy the book.
@@WBJAMES100 Have you gone to see a doctor? I had a similar experience recently involving a quad stretch, Will go to doctor very soon. Have you had any relief?
Doctor, I hurt my lateral cutaneous nerve 3 years ago. First it hurt and in 3 months the outside part of the my leg went numb. The exercise doesn’t help. Should I get surgery?
Surgery is a last resort. Try ALL the exercises in the book before you try surgery. Sectioning (cutting) the LC nerve sounds simple, but it's it's hard to find and many operations are abandoned when surgeons cannot locate it.
Had Dengue Fever in Chiang Mai in 2013. Went to Chiang Mai Ram Hospital Mon.; Wed.; and Fri. Almost needed blood transfusion, went back to California. Slept 12 hours a day for six months. Awful. 😢
Hello sir i m suffering with this since 1 year but got to know about this only a month ago. My doctor prescribed me nangaba ER 75 and mayopas .i m only 22 years old when i will get rid of it..plz tell me plzzz.....
Thanks for your video- very insightful. I was in a bad car accident last fall, this video describes my issues to a "T". It has become progressively worse, i'm only 27 and am fit/active. I can't sit for more than 15 minutes, walk too far, or lift anything heavy. (Pain in hip, knee, numbness on left side of the body).
@@GodfreeRoberts Thanks for replying back, Godfree. I did physical therapy for three months, one round of anti-inflamatories (which helped a lot), and now on second round of them with minimal relief. It's a bit concerning as this has been progressively worse over the months.
I get the feeling you wouldn't recognise a good man if God himself pointed one out to you. What an awful attitude you've got. Godfree isn't God with a cure, he's just a good man offering help. He's a fellow sufferer AND he's a particularly good hearted soul you ass. No way he's become a millionaire selling this little book, probably just a few hundred well deserved dollars. What's YOUR big contribution to the world? Get back to us when you cure cancer, otherwise STFU.
Most Thai people own dogs but let them wander around. They don't feed them or take them to a vet if unwell. They don't want or can afford to have them desexed, so they reproduce and create a bigger problems.I live in Thailand and have four dogs and three cats. All desexed and kept within my property.I have adopted many others and paid to have them desexed.I am losing the battle.
@@GodfreeRoberts I prefer the ugly truth over a pretty lie. I was bedridden for six months due to an injury at work. I gained some weight and as soon as I started losing weight, it started getting better. It gets better and better the more I lose. Tylenol and Motrin also help.
@@GodfreeRoberts Wouldn't you know it Godfree... like so many I love food too much and I am 'exercise' adverse! Not wildly overweight, but definitely could afford to lose a good amount. (sorry I've been spelling your name wrong in past comments!)
I had the procedure that freezes the nerve and now I am worse! The sharp pain is like something just jumped up and bit my thigh...like a big snake. Plus the oversensitive skin. I can't really touch my leg without feeling that pain. My whole leg feels so screwed up now. I guess I am going to need surgery. Did you have the surgery?
Before you have surgery, I suggest you consult a surgeon who has performed many MP surgeries, since the LFC nerve is often difficult to locate/identify. Arrange a phone consult with Gregory K. Ivins, MD, Surgeon at Jefferson County Health Center. He has done more than anyone I know of. Good luck!
I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia several years ago. I am in pain(usually radiating) somewhere if not everywhere, every minute of every day so, ever since I have just chalked everything that hurts up to that diagnosis. Then, just this past Thanksgiving I was standing up to the sink doing some dishes and felt the sensation of icy cold water running down the front of my right thigh. I checked and there was no water there, and it wouldn't have been cold if there was. Then the area felt like it was rubbing against my clothing, like it was raised, swollen. When I touched my skin it felt almost numb. This continues to happen to me to this day, especially if I am walking, but now more often it's a burning stinging sensation and it hurts. At night it burns so bad I hardly get any sleep. The surface of my thigh has never returned to normal, still feels mostly numb. So weird. And for quite a few months before this ever started my backside has been in pain- hurts just sitting. Sometimes so bad it feels as if it is breaking apart- does that make sense? Especially if I have to sit on a folding metal chair at church. Meralgia Paresthetica and Arachnoiditis came up in my research. How do I find out what's happening and what kind of doctor should I see?
NO mention of visas? The single most important factor in retirement to Thailand and you don't even mention it. Why would I trust your opinion on anything else?
Everyone knows they need a visa to visit or live in another country, so there's nothing to say about that. But Thailand's visa regulations change constantly and, to complicate matters, the rules are interpreted very differently in different provinces.
@@GodfreeRoberts And that's why visa status is the single most important factor in expat life. Still not trusting your opinions. I could sit next to any random farang in any random bar in Nakhon Nayokh and learn more.
