It's funny how the entire sequence of creating the song Bohemain Rhapsody is about going against generic formulas, while the film itself is so generic and formulaic
It was so cliche and so self indulgent, I mean I still cringe watching the apology meeting scene and the fact they made them so damn perfect with the ridiculous excuse of " we havent played in years" and yet they go to Live 8 and suddenly Bob Geldof gets thousands of pounds of donations. Also it bothers me how they made Freddy look like an A**HOLE with the solo career thing, when in real life they never broke up and Freddy was THE LAST in go solo when Roger, Brian and John did it first.
A wise acting teacher once said "If you're smoking a cigarette in a scene, don't let the cigarette act for you." In other words, the performance should come from the human being playing the role. Don't rely so heavily on some prop. I likewise say don't let a dental prosthetic, mustache and arm gestures act for you. Play the human being. Terrible Oscar win.
I just don’t get it. The teeth was totally distracting. I can’t stand to look at his face, it’s weird. I felt like that I was the only one that didn’t like the movie and I couldn’t believe he won an Oscar for basically doing an impersonation.
This movie was a joke. This movie should’ve been so much bigger and so much more epic and so much more grand. But no instead they wanted to turn it into a cookie cutter. Play it safe greatest hits movie for the hot topic crowd. I and I’m sorry but the dude who played Freddie Mercury did not deserve an Oscar for his performance in this movie because it was very mediocre. I’m not saying he didn’t do a bad job, but I won’t say his performance was Oscar worthy. And not only that but they allowed a piece of shit like Brian singer to direct this movie.
The scene of Freddie insulting all of the band members especially John was so weird to me. Why did they portray him like this? It's so unsettling that Brian and Roger signed off on something like this. I mean I get they weren't close but....dang .....that's your friend who's not around anymore. Who's not here to speak for himself anymore. Do you take pleasure in making him look stupid?
roger taylor and brian may both knew about the scenes, what does his death have to do with how he sometimes behaved? so if someone famous dies and you make a movie about him you should show only the good parts of his life? how can you be so clueless?
with all the scenes of everyone beating up on freddie, it feels moreso like brian and roger are beating on their dead friend for having so much of the spotlight. (obviously they aren’t like that, but i feel that it could negatively impact their names.) i will always defend the live aid scene for being a near perfect recreation of the concert as well as rami’s performance, but everything else in this movie was shit. the world’s biggest and influential singer deserved a better biopic than this.
Yes... It's shit. So cliche.... Also inaccurate. It's good for younger generation that doesn't remember the 80s and is a recent fan. Their music was great. Freddy made Queen.
You guys know Brian may and roger Taylor (members of the band) produced this right. And I’m pretty sure they knew what they were doing with this movie. It’s a great movie. Way better than Elvis for sure. I love Austin butler but the movie elvis sucked. And bohemian rhapsody is actually one of the best and most accurate movies about real peoples lives. Rami malek did an amazing job acting in this movie and so did the other cast members. This movie deserved the Oscar that it got. They don’t just give Oscar’s to anyone. I love this movie and I always will. I also love queen and their music. I also love rami because he is an amazing actor and he deserves the world. Apparently you guys don’t know what talent is and you don’t know what a good movie is. And I’m sure Brian may and roger Taylor gave them the information that they needed while filming this movie. And although they might have made the movie more interesting with a few little things that actually didn’t happen the whole movie was based off of true events that happened with queen and this movie is telling their story the best they can. And Ik a lot of people are going to disagree with me on a lot of what I just said but that’s their opinion. But honestly their opinion is wrong. Just saying. Everyone that is hating probably is just jealous or depressed so they hate on people or things that people do to make themselves feel better. But overall this movie is astonishing and it deserved the Oscar. And everyone’s acting was spot on. I’m not trying to hate but compared to the Elvis movie bohemian rhapsody is 1000 times better and way more accurate on what happened. Although they may have made Freddie a bit more mean and rude then he actually was in real life they do that to make the movie better. They do this so the movie will do better and so they will make good money from it. This movie is amazing and the actors did an amazing job.
Accurate? There are SO many innacuracies with the film.. The band never broke up, freddie was diagnosed with aids AFTER live aid (yet the movie made it seem like he did live aid for his own selfish actions) they never sold their van and Ray Foster wasn’t even a real person. There are many more inaccuracies, and it’s just a mildly homophobic movie. Some movies don’t deserve oscars. If you want an accurate biopic, watch rocketman or I Tonya, not this.
This is one of my favorite movies, the only thing I don’t like is some of the miss information that the company put into the movie, a lot of the dates were soo off Jesus Christ
It makes me a bit sad to see the hate this movie gets. Even if it's the movie and not the band that gets the hate, it is a real shame to have such a shit show attached to the band's name and legacy.
Yea lot of date inaccuracies and not enough mention of the band mates maaiinly Freddie 😂 just call it Freddie or Mercury as it's basically.abkut Freddies life 😂
Personally, I love this film! The only thing that put me off was how Freddie and roger acted, they were so rude but theyre complete angels irl. overall, I love it
@@Odeon1970 Its annoying and sad, knowing that Freddie is a completely lovely man irl. A fan vomited on Freddies shoes at a meet and greet, but freddie took his shoes off and made sure the fan was ok. Rami fred NEVER wouldve
They shot it like a bad TV movie. The camera work, the costumes, the bad wigs, the atrocious editing (which won a fucking Oscar! This is why we should go back to the days when only members of the same guild were allowed to vote on technical awards). Ugh, my eyes hurt!
Freddy was never this intense and mouth licky and smacky . completely embarrassing for the actor to have to pretend all this bullshit. Also Freddy was a raving coke addict and a smoker of all kinds of stuff. Drugs caught up to him. They faked the illness. It's well known that the CIA/Navy intelligence own the music business. They get their agenda pushed through celebrities, you can be sure of that.
@@ymklx yeah, sure, just an opinion... Overall, I quite agree with what Freddie's godson, Freddie Mack said of this movie: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-oQfl8buZlLI.html
It's a movie, not a documentary, but when this movie is produced by surviving band members who portray themselves as the better actors, it has an odd flavor. Along the lines of, "Why does Freddie Mercury still get all the applause? " and we don't.
Doing alright was the song before Queen was Queen and by a band called Smile. I think Brian and Roger were in it. But it has nothing to do with Queen really, so I also don’t get why they included it.
@@Keithsrollingstone Again, which shows that they know nothing about making movies. This movie was a dog and disgraces the real exciting history of Freddie and the band. It's almost like they didn't want the true story told. That is why you NEVER have band members involved in the making of their own biopics.
Did it win any Oscars or was it just hype. Seen original group in mid 80s Wembley Arena billed as flash tour. Then again in the US with Paul Rodgers, can't remember fuck all about it. With no Freddie no deeky no Fucking good. I'm was afraid to watch the movie for fear of making a twat of myself for yelling and swearing at the screen. Just imagining it being an abortion of biblical proportions. Some say good movie, some say bad movie. To me that sounds like people who don't know queen like it. And those who DO know queen hate it. Yep, didn't want to get jailed for throwing shit at the screen. Best to just not watch it. That way there can be no disappointment. After seeing these clips Im sure I made the correct choice, it looks like a real Turkey shit fest.
wasn't that that tattooed, botoxed singer that Brian May and Roger Taylor need for their cover band? It was cheeky, however, to accuse Freddie Mercury of such poor taste.
I actually found that to be really important. Even if it isn't 100% accurate, it pinpoints the moment in time where you know he wants to explore his sexuality more
