This is retarded, do not take advice from that man. I've survived knife attacks on the street before, that man will get you killed. If faced with someone meaning to hurt you or threaten you with a knife, if you're a good runner then you run as fast as you can and try to break line of sight, if you know the area well, otherwise just try to run away from the guy. Don't go into a store or a building you don't know because that is how you end up in a dead end, literally. Don't double back on yourself because you increase the possibility of running back into him and you're gonna be more tired then he is because you're running for your life while he is running for your wallet. Don't stop running until you're in a safe location because if he's hyped up on drugs he isn't going to stop chasing you until his heart explodes. Try to call the cops if you're dexterous enough to do that while running, if not just focus on running, it's not worth risking tripping over, the cops ain't gonna get to you in time if that happens. If you're not a good runner or if you think you can't outrun the guy with the knife then you better find the strength to do it anyway. Otherwise you better do as you're told, better to be robbed then to be dead. He'll just take whatever he wants off of your corpse anyway. In no real world scenario are you going to fight the fucker, pro fighters lose 9/10 of those fights because the attacker only needs to e lucky once while the defender has to be lucky every single time, because they only have to hit you once and you could be dead in seconds. You're likely not a pro fighter so you're going to lose every single time and if you are a pro fighter, you're in shape to run so if that's a fucking option, take it, I will have no sympathy for you if you choose to fight a guy with a knife. Additionally I will let you know, if you copy that guy's lack of technique you're going to break your fingers, just like he would have done if he tried to actually strike anyone or anything sturdy like that. If you insist on striking someone with any kind of chop, do yourself a favour and tuck your fucking pinky AND your thumb so your hand has a minimum amount of support behind it and don't hit with your fingers but with the meaty part of the side of your palm. Lastly, where he is hitting and where he was pointing are not where any arteries are unless he is some kind of fucking alien walking amongst us, the carotid arteries in the neck is on either side next to the throat, not in the back of the base of the skull or neck or ear. Please do the world a favour and delete this video mate, before you actually get someone killed. Please.
Absolutely! I have trained Muay Thai for 28+ years and when Troy showed me the second move it quickly became my favorite. Its similar to a Muay Thai clinch defense I learned, but better. You are keeping good posture and rotating into the elbow. Be careful when practicing it, its rough on the attackers shoulder when done aggressively. Thanks for the comment :)
Excuse me, maybe i'm wrong, but i don't think like many people says that there is a weight transfer in punching. for me punch with the body helps give speed to a contracted arm. the same mouvement is used in many things like when police use breaching ram to break a door. I think people are wrong thinking there is a weight transfer.
Thank you for the comment. For sure I think there should always be transfer of weight. The whole body moves as one starting from the center, legs, hips and shoulders all together. Most styles have some sort of shift of power. They all have different uses and are mostly valid. I agree. I think its very important. I appreciate the comment and support :)
Dual hand hair grab, then drag head forward and down, followed by head kicks, was the stereotyped way of streetfighting by teenage boys when I was growing up in the 1970s. All teenagers then had long hair (except the skinheads), so that attack was a big problem. Easy counter, though, get a haircut, no problem for me now 😂
I started in karate, so it was always bare knuckle, then moved to MMA style but continued to practice on the heavy bag and Bob, bare knuckle. It works fine. Occasionally, I mis-hit on the heavy bag and tear some skin off, but it gets better fast and is a reminder to pay more attention to technique.
That is the best way to train! Love Karate for that. So much practical training with no gloves. I also agree, making the skin tougher is the main struggle and comes with time. Keep up the great work :)
Hey man, much respect for being will to take a bat to the stomach but Ive gotta be honest and say, with full respect, this seems pretty silly. If somebody has a bat and isn't a third of your size they are probably gonna bust you up regardless of what the bat is made of or where they hit you. Secodly, this follows the bulletproof vest concept of blunt force trauma. Imagining the tip of the bat is a bullet and it lands with a shitload of force, anywhere on the abdomen in this case, you're looking at a minimum of having broken ribs, ruptured liver/colon/spleen/small intestine, and of course the risk of internal bleeding so bad that you might as well have been stabbed and you'll be septic before the ambulance comes to save you. Not to mention this all assumes you see the bat coming which, all the breathing exercise in the world seems like it isn't going to stop you from getting hit by a literal bat to the stomach. Please know I enjoy your content and I'm' not trying to come at you as an armchair ninja/batman/bruce lee/mike tyson, I'm just trying to understand the logic.
I agree with you friend. This was not a smart idea. I looked it up and a metal bat can produce up to 8,000 pounds of force. So not recommended for anyone to try ever. This was a personal choice to see how much I can absorb. I let anyone punch, knee or kick me for training. Wanted to find my limits and didn't. However, I am not minimizing this action. Taking a baseball bat is dumb lol. It could rupture a spleen or stop my heart. Thank you so much for your comment and question. I appreciate you ! :)
You know, the funny thing about watching these videos? I don't remember saying any of that. It's totally off the cuff. If we filmed the video today, it might be very different. It all comes down to where our minds were at that moment. It's all good stuff, it just might have been very different. Can't wait to do more filming.
That's so true! I always feel the same way when I re-watch the footage. Thank you so much for your help. Its been great collaborating! Look forward to more filming and be thinking of more technique ideas. :)
Thanks for the question ! Very simple, its just consistency. Stretch every day. Try to stretch the same time everyday. Stretch for about thirty seconds to a minute. You will see improvements. I use the side splits for my hips. Start very slow with these. For my hamstrings I put my leg on something waist height, touch toes and start to stretch slowly. Realistically find stretches that work well for you and never miss a day and it will for sure happen. Happy Training ! I Appreciate you :)
you can do the same thing without a clinch or grabbing the thigh. its essentially the rock bottom. when somebody swings that haymaker you know is coming, duck just like you did, but step behind their leg, and just walk forward. if they try to step back with the wrapped leg, they fall, if they step back with the other leg, you are in a standing rear naked choke. did this on replication to 3 cage fighters, 3 times in a row each. this is why a boxers punch is garbage, leaves you completly open.
Yeah this imo is the superior move. It's fast, brutal and uses the opponent's momentum against themselves. It's also very lethal so I see the merit to how the guy in the video did this, the opponent doesn't land on their head.
Your legs have lot of power, that's why lift happens with your legs. For taller guys it's actually easy to lift and throw because they have weak center of gravity. I have beaten up guys bigger than me with similar moves. Just go for center or legs and lift from there. Their balance never holds and they have hard time to get into any position that would give them resistance. For wrestling the height is disadvantage and as we all know, most fights end up into wrestling if someone doesn't knock other one down with first punch.
If you know how to do it it's way worse for a taller bigger person because they do fall harder. If you ever see a big dude fall hard it's tragically painful to watch.
Yea but when you clinched this will come across your head I learned how to flip somebody over when they are on top from a movie and I used it 100x but when you throwing punches yes you prolly will forget
The moveset isn't really that complex. This is actually something that people can remember and it's pretty natural to get into as well. Clinch, below lift and slam. I have done similar movements already in street fights without issues. Took down guys bigger than me with ease.
@@user-vr9ln2nt5v judo isn't natural for fighting. Too complex for brains to pull off. Same for boxing if fight is sudden. Exception might be if you do lot of sparring with someone who actively resists you and fights back so it goes to muscle memory. But for Judo I wouldn't recommend. In panic we go to our most basic and most understood move mode. There is no time to make setup or right stance. This move done here, doesn't need any of it. Wrestling is actually very natural for fighting and is something that can be easily done in form of sparring with friends and usually fights with friends are done in wrestling (less likely to cause serious injury)
@@user-vr9ln2nt5v That's you bro, for some people this is where they go instinctually. Before I ever knew anything this kind of move is where I defaulted, I would always go to grappling, headlocks and power moves without having ever practiced. I also never start fights so if a dude's swinging my thought is if I'm grabbing his head he won't be punching or headbutting, it works. It's a natural reaction to being grabbed onto most guys forget about the fight and all they want is out of the lock immediately and that's all they're thinking. They stop thinking about punching or winning and can't stand the humiliation of being handled.
This is one of my favorite jabs. However, my absolute favorite is the retreating jab. Also getting in range and using the neutral jab is great also. I get what you mean though. Most people only step jab. Its a very multidimensional move. Thankyou for the comment :)
Fight the wrong way around, and lead with your strongest arm. There's no point holding back and hoping to time a haymaker, when you can just punish them with powerful jabs that they can't escape. If you're right-handed, use a left-handed stance. Bruce Lee favoured this technique in JKD because you want a street fight to be over quickly.
Thanks for the comment! I love Bruce Lee's lead punch also! One of my favorites. So amazing he adapted that move from fencing. Will be doing more videos soon on that move! Thanks for watching :)
Thank you very much for a video about the universal block, but for the life of me I can't figure out where you guys are? You don't have a North East or Great Lakes accent. Are you fellas POSSIBLY from the PNW???
Thankyou for watching ! We both live in Montana. However, Not sure where Troy is from originally(Who Taught This Move) Thanks so much for the support and comment :)
Great question! You can. It allows your hip to turn a little more for power. However, you do not need to. In my opinion there are four major jabs: the normal snap jab, power jab, step jab and exploding jab. This was more of a power jab. My next video will be the step jab! Thanks for the question :)
