Please do not choose an undesignated rate. The only reason to select undesignated is if you have a low score, as undesignated personnel do not have a choice in where they go. Do not leave until you have a school contract. Once you get to your ship, if a division is short one person, they will assign you to that position. If you are an E1, you will be stuck in that job until you advance to E4. For example, if you are a Seaman, you will be sent to Deck. Make sure to learn what people in Deck do. In short, secure a school contract before you leave for boot camp.
Did all the other divisions have to retake the ASVAB or was it just yours? I had to wait 6 months to ship out and I have no knowledge on the ASVAB anymore! 😭
I’m leaving for bootcamp next week as a Hospital Corpsman! Ahh I’m so nervous thank you for sharing your experience it helps me prepare myself for a lot! You’re doing amazing with your videos! Keep up the work! ❤️
@@Aje-ch3ms not all of us were undesignated….to be honest; nobody knew why we had to retake it….they just told us when we got there and that was it….they don’t really tell you stuff in bootcamp-you just do as you’re told…and not all divisions have to do it either….
I ship out Oct 8th but I’m confused why you had to retake the asvab when you were there. I already took my asvab and enlisted as a HM, will i still have to retake it there??
@@KateRegehr I enlisted Undesignated…I retook the ASVAB and then I chose HM…. It all depends….maybe you won’t need to retake it.its all based on your ASVAB score when you enlist.
random question but my gf just arrived at boot camp on the 11th last week.. and i’ve been wanting to write her but i don’t know her ship number or division - so do you know if it’s a generic adress i can mail the letter too and they’ll get it to her ?
Hey congratulations on making it through bootcamp! My shipping date is October 10th and im going to be Operations Specialist (OS), can u give me some information on my Rate please. Also, your video helped me a lot, its packed full of great information for Navy Bootcamp
@@trizzle4jayy315 Thank you! Based on what I’ve heard about OS, it’s a good rate….you’ll probably be on a ship; which will be fun But continue doing your research
Is the future sailor program worth it... and what questions came on the Asvab... is it what u were taught on Preparatory school...or different question
How long does the first call to notify the family that you have arrived last? And for those who have family in another country, do they allow calls via WhatsApp?
I'm planning on joining the navy but I'm so nervous and ready at the same time. I keep pushing my ASVAB test back but I’m suppose to take it sometime next week. I’m also concerned that I might get disqualified because of my weight. I have so many questions, but I don't want to overwhelm you, lol. Do you have any advice or recommendations?
Honestly its alright to be nervous about this. My best advice is to score your best on the asvab and find the rates best for you and ask about bonuses. The actual bootcamp experience is not hard, right now just focus on setting yourself up for the future for when u do complete bootcamp. My best advice: 1. Don’t volunteer for anything 2. Don’t trust anyone (maybe like 1 or 2 people 3. Stay to yourself 4. Do what you supposed to do And lastly. Bootcamp is a stressful environment. You will most likely always be getting yelled at and making mistakes casually. But the thing is to learn from everything and not take anything to heart.
Congratulations!!! Wow are they make everyone to re take the ASVAB again at P days, or you can request to re take it? I wish not to go to take it again…lol
They shouldn't. It was probably her program and picking deps. You can get fucked cause you haaave to choose a job and theres a chance they wont have what you want. You dont want to sign any contract unless they have the job you want before you join.
Such a lovely video! I was looking for bootcamp experience video, by someone that looks like me, that wasn't 3+ years old. I feel so much more empowered to ship out on September 24th!
Hey! Congratulations on graduating. I have a question. Can we bring and use our own panties and sports bras? Or will they send them home and make us use the ones they provide?
@@FashionGliter on the night of arrival, you won’t be allowed to have it…but during bootcamp-If your family sends it,you can keep it…just as long as you can keep it where your RDC won’t see it during inspection
How do you know when to invite your family to attend your graduation before time, because it sound as if it’s very easy for you to get push back for anything you do wrong 😑???
