why does it keep loading when i put the marker on the model? the marker appears on the model but it doesnt appear on the markers list. it just keeps loading. thanks for your help

Hi Justin, no you don't. As long as your updated model has the same file name and is uploaded as a revision to the original model then all the markers will be inherited by the new version.
Hi, you can absolutely walk around and explore the model. This really helps to understand complex construction details when you can see them from any angle, overlaid on top of their finished location in the real world.
I added the extension. When I click on the Markup extension button (left down at screen as you show in the Video, right after installing) I get "Marker Authoring Denied. Please refresh the extension to enable permission for creating markers". Question: How do I do that? I work with nova Files. 1 for heating 1 for aeration 1 for sprinkler 1 for electric created with Nova, and 1 for architecture created with whatever the architect has.
Hi Ronald, You'll need to refresh the Marker extension. To do so, click the menu icon in the top left corner of the screen > Settings > Extensions. There is a refresh icon next to the QR Marker custom extension, which will then ask you to give permission for 'QR Marker" to access Trimble Connect on your behalf. Click Allow, and then you should be good to go!
is there any device that you would recommend for best performance? Apple, Windows or Android machine. We are currently considering what device we should get for construction control on-site for large projects, so It would be beneficial if you could also name specific devices. thanks in advance.
Hi Kristaps, Connect AR supports Android and iOS devices. The recent iPhones and iPads are excellent performance wise - particularly the iPad Pro with M1 chipset. The latest Pro Apple devices (iPad Pro, iPhone 13 Pro) contain LIDAR sensors which Connect AR utilizes (in measurements/scanning Markers) so it is beneficial to have, although not essential. For Android, the Samsung S22 is recommended for best performance. If you chose a different Android device, please ensure it supports Google AR Technologies by checking it is on below linked list (which Google maintains). developers.google.com/ar/devices
is anything about this actually real? there isnt even a real a crowd is there? fake clapping, fake Steve Jobs/Elon Musk like presentation. is that random camera man even doing anything real? or is he just there to fool those watching this video into assuming he is doing some live view.. I dont know why they wouldnt just have the augmented reality recording and broadcasting a live view of what the person wearing it is seeing.. sure i bet you can do some of this but this is clearly deceptively edited
What a load of bullshite - the key aspect of Architecture is INFORMATION = DETAILED INFORMATION as per BIM. This is a backward step as it does not accord to the profession or its ethics, code of conduct respecting professional indemnity, costs or chai of custody. This folks, is as about as amateur as it gets. Sure SketchUp is very useful for 3D modelling, but that is all. The future is Information Technology and Hololens is not it. All rather like getting a paramedic to engage in brain surgery = nonsense
Started using this and it seems pretty convenient however....the marker placement in the model doesn't seem that great. See someone else comment and asking about how to ensure your marker placement is correct on site as per the model. I have noticed when printing out the QR code it gives the GPS coordinate for where to locate it. The placement in the model though isn't great, you move it along the X,Y,Z axis but if your model is rotated slightly so the surfaces don't align with your X or Y planes, getting it to move along the wall will be a bit of a pain.
Architecture is not my thing, Sure we could build an A.I. but building one will make many unemployed. We're upgrading education and experienced but a.i. was there online. Blue and white collar job was faceout by robots and a.i. software.. Mind are offline system, it depend on you if you make it online. I have nothing to do with it
I have put the QR code in my model on a beam, Do I just print it out and put it on the beam now? In the model it shows just slightly off center. Do I need to measure and get an exact location on the beam?

This is exactly what I need, but I can't see an option to use absolute building coordinates for these markers. I only see relative coordinates from the point I clicked first (0, 0, 0,). I would also like to import coordinates of markers.
Hi Oleg - I believe you're asking if we can use these same markers to overlay models in AR using the mobile app on phone/tablet, correct? If so, we don't currently support this, but stay tuned :)
If the plugin and icon URL's are static links, why must we type them in to make a new QR code? It should just be there, not very user friendly... On a side note, when trying to open the model via the name, it opens automatically in 2D mode. You can not place the marker in 2d mode. Click on the check box or the thumbnail which turns into a check box, then look to the right side of the page and look for the "view in" button (blue) drop down and choose "3D Viewer", then you can place the marker. (this is as of January 2021)
Hey James, sorry to hear that. We've had a couple folks with this issue and the solution has been to uninstall/reinstall making sure that you're using the full URL and https: instead of http:. Amazing you have all this potential with Trimble for hololens but still for whatever reason you don't have a QR placement system. How can you honestly manually setup a room and layout of holograms every time you start your project every day. Its a waste of time. Please implement a QR scanner to quickly implement models into a space in the correct lay outs etc.

I'm able to log into Trimble Connect, but when I try to bring the sample project in, it says, "3d model being prepared for viewing in HoloLens, please try again later." I'm not able to Launch or download the project. How do I fix this or get around it?
