Sun and moon are complete ass. Anyone who says otherwise is just coping. There's nothing else i hate more than unskippable cutscenes that can last forever. I sometimes forgot i was playing pokemon instead of just watching it. Theres veey little to explore and little freedom. I love all the added pokemon, but the game is unplayably bad
Most people didn't like Gen 5 because Unova didn't have that many old Pokémon along the routes to encourage the use of the new Pokémon, but I loved that. Instead of defaulting back to what I knew, I had to learn about the new Pokémon and use them. Pokémon Black and White were a good time.
I really liked x and y, they had a xyz in the books but gamefreak wanted a new region for the 20th year anverisity or something like that so that's kinda why we never got it, but I hope Za cleans up the story and questions we never had answered
This was certainly…a list. I can’t say I can really agree with the majority of them. That largely might be because I started playing Pokémon with it’s 3d iterations, but they really aren’t that bad. Maybe they’re a little easy, but I still think there’s a lot to enjoy as a casual player.
The diamond and pearl remakes get a lot of hate because they’re literally built off of the originals. Many of the glitches in the originals are still present in the “remake”. They basically added the underground and slapped a chibi skin on the original games and called it a day. At that point just play platinum since it gives a better sinnoh experience without the glitches. Only real reason to play the remakes is to get mew and jirachi
Controversial Take, but I loved Sword and Shield. It’s Artstlye perfectly encapsulates the next stage for 3D Pokémon. Let’s go felt like the characters were a bit chibi and shorter whilst Scarlet and Violet looked either to realistic or Uncanny valley! The story for S&S was a bit predictable, it was still fun and it actually felt like the adults in the game tried to take care of the situation. I also like the character designs, Leon was awesome, I’ve gym lady was beautiful, Sonia was cute and the Pokémon were really well designed. The faults for me are that there could’ve been better animations for Pokémon, one more wild area and more Gigantamax Pokémon.
THANK YOU!! I have been saying for YEARS that Sword and Shield arent bad games, but that Sun and Moon definitely were the worst and dont get enough criticism. I HATED Sun and Moon. They were like knock off Pokémon games. No gyms was the worst. But Sword and Shield felt, played and looked like normal Pokémon games. Heck Sword and Shield even feel and look more like Pokémon games than Scarlet and Violet, Sw/Sh performed better, looked better and the characters felt more natural for the series. Honestly, Id put Arceus in S, since even though it was a departure a bit since it was more story focused, it actually pulled it off well. The characters were good, the game play was fun, and it was actually something that had thought, effort and innovation, which is quite rare for this series. For me, I can agree with basically all your other placements though. I mean, i personally didn't have fun playing in the Unova games. Literally stopped playing the 2nd one after getting my 6th badge and only went back to it last year to finish it. But I recognize they had a good story and tried something different, so I can respect them. The only things I would strongly feel need to be changed are Arceus in S and BDSP being moved doen to D. Those games looked worse, felt worse and charged way too much for how mediocre they were. Aside from that, your tier is solid as heck my guy. Thank you for clearing Sword and Shield's name a bit. I legit skipped it when it first came out because other people ruined it for me by bashing it and making me have to defend it and then them bashing me for defending it before it even came out. But last year when I finally picked it up and played it, i really liked it. I had more fun with Sword than I did with Violet. 😂
Tbh I kinda hate how the allure of Mew is completely gone now. What was once impossible to get turned into an overcorrection of insane proportion. So long as the Switch is connected to the newest form of Bank, you can always get another Mew by having a Let's Go file and starting a new save in BDSP. Trying to digress but Mew has always been my favorite mon and seeing that it's not much more difficult than a Pidgey to get now makes it kinda maddening lol. Oh well. The shiny one I was able to get softens the blow a little ig.
Usum is really a good game if the sun and moon not came out Usum just improve the sun and moon if the make sun and moon 2 it will be a better game like bw2 if they make lilies story more like they do with N in bw2 that makes sense but they just improve and not make a third game and make two separate for money .we never know what going after lilie when she go to kanto😢 they just extend the sun and moon story and make a completely new story they just thought sun and moon never existed 😞 they're also make lusamune story wrost. Although it a very good game in a wrong way they copied and paste bw2 ideas in these games but these games are not sequel. It good they improve many things but if they make a sequel and improve these things usum become the best game in 3ds generation it has too much potential but Pokemon company just thought for money and make a extended cut for marketing.
BDSP in B tier? Nah… also I didn’t care for BW… B2W2 definitely deserved where it got, but BW sucked with having to play Unova exclusive Pokémon until the end when Gen 5 Pokémon are ass on their own. That Gen was literally carried by the story.
Sun and Moon are right where they belong. That shit is more linear than a CoD campaign. You can't even walk 5 meters without triggering the next "cutscene".
A lot of dex entries in gen one remind me of the old concept for pokemon being basically just a messed up world where pokemon just started to spawn into our world one day Crazy to see how they are slowly managed to course correct from that original concept with only the old dex entries being our single reminder
Once again, my theory that people who hate gen 7 are just people who can't/don't like reading is proven correct. It's literally always the ADHD/dyslexia/short attention span people who hate it. TT_TT How can you say that there's too much dialogue AND that the story isn't explained enough in the same breath? Sun/Moon has far and away one of the most solidly constructed, logical stories in the franchise, and the couple of questions about the story you bring up in replies are questions that don't NEED answers. I don't blame people who dislike it for being too wordy or hand-holdy, I won't deny that it's not for everyone. But putting it beneath Sw/Sh, which has a story so flimsy it's held together with washi tape and dreams, is a massive L take
The Unove Orre argument holds no water as Unove is based on the City of New York and surrounding areas such more of the NY state and parts of New Jersey. But as you said Orre is Arizona.
I'll be honest, BDSP made me realize that I... Didn't really like Diamond and Pearl. The story fell flat, it's one of my least favorite enemy teams, Cyrus was a snooze fest... Idk, I found myself more bored playing it than any other game, which is an absolute crime in a game. That combined with BDSP being the most unappealing Pokémon game visually just... Makes it the worst for me by a long shot.
I think scarlet and violet are the worst games by far. And i don't say that because of looks, also not becauze of the performance/bugs. But simply because there is no structure. I had no idea which gym i needed to go to because you could do any order, but the levels don't scale. Its judt terrible. I now need an extra device so i can see a map that shows tje correct order. This is the first mainline pokemon game ever i didnt even want to finish. I made it to the third gym.
