Great video but may I suggest informing the viewers of what tools will be needed for each job AKA The special clutch socket you use and a link to find it????
I know this is an older video but I have a question for anyone here who has the knowledge to answer it. I purchased a Honda shadow same bike, had to do a lot of work to get it running and I go to take off and the bike will not move. I took apart everything in the video and ordered a socket to remove the nut. Now the bike is acting like the clutch is always ingaged. I think the plates are frozen together and that means with the socket on when I go to turn it to remove it just spins. What do I do please help
Hi, it could be something with your clutch slave cylinder or master cylinder. I had an issue where it was having similar troubles and it ended up being a combination of the slave cylinder and the clutch master cylinder needing to be rebuilt. I have both of those videos up on my channel. Hope it that helps!
@@ifly891 would that still apply for my situation? I have the new clutch and a slave cyld rebuild kit. I have everything taken apart but that nut holding it in. The pushrod itself is taken out too. How is the clutch still engaged
Nine times out of 10 the problem is the clutch and related parts. Everything has to be in order. If you want to do the work yourself, I recommend familiarizing yourself with the clutch system. Then take it apart and verify everything is in order. Most common cause would be the clutch slipped. Or the plate is off the assembly.
Awesome video, really simplified the job by watching your video, the only thing for me was cleaning clutch case gasket surfaces, was very tedious. I noticed you didn't replace it, so did you use a gasket sealer that keeps the gasket intacked. I've had the covers off twice and replace it both times. Thanks again for a great tutorial.
Is it possible to take off the old textile and glue that back on? Because mine is perfect and not dirty at all, could I take off the old foam, glue it on and stick it back?
Not recommended, you need to used a foamed fabric. If you do as you wrote it won't fit well. Another tip is using a solvent to clean the roof before gluing the fabric.
Cannot for the life of me figure out how to pry the drivers side knee panel down. Need this in order to access the upper drivers side bolt holding the left pillar. Any suggestions??
Hi, it's a special socket. Here is a link to one on ebay. www.ebay.com/itm/115562013534?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=nOfLgDXzT-q&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=3WDl4WOCQIK&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
Hey man thank you for posting this video, I have a 94 Honda shadow that I need to do a clutch rebuild on and I couldn't find any videos of my generation shadow. Do you have a link where to buy the rebuild kit? Also will I still be able to get that nut off without getting it into 1st gear? I'am unable to get it into gear at all. Thanks again man 👍
Great video. I want to put the alcantara material on my 2013 and watching this gives me the confidence to tackle the job myself. Thanks for posting this.
Hi, I got it off ebay. Here is a kit that would work. www.ebay.com/itm/401344305789?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=JrRin3IFTMq&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=3WDl4WOCQIK&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=EMAIL
This video is exceptional!! It's by far the easiest and most informative instructional video I've ever come across. I LOVE the fact that the instructor didn't waste his and my time spending half the video flapping his lips trying to explain what his video was going to show us what or how to do it. That's so annoying. It isn't like we won't be seeing what to do essentially.Thank you very much, Tyler Barton for taking the anticipation and anxiety out of what I thought would be a daunting task. A lot of people could learn how to do a video right from you.
For people wondering how to get the cylinder out (he moves off camera when he gets it out), i used an air compressor to blow the cylinder out since it was stuck. Just be careful because the brake fluid aerosolizes when you do this, and can spray you EVERYWHERE. wear a respirator and some eye protection.
Hi here is a link. There are a bunch of options on ebay for different kits that are all about the same. www.ebay.com/itm/HONDA-VT1100C-SHADOW-1992-1996-CLUTCH-SLAVE-CYLINDER-KIT-Made-In-Japan-/382885863174?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0
Here is the one I got www.amazon.com/dp/B06WP5WBXG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_ZVMB8FPRWWKNT9Z7R95X?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 And then I just got the 3m headliner adhesive off Amazon
You took all apart and drilled your car??and you didn’t changed stereo?? 🤦🤦🤦🤦🤣🤣🤣🤣 For 30$ on Amazon you can get nice stereo with Bluetooth, mp3, usb, SD card etc.... Sir congrats you are extreme idiot.
Haha thanks.... Sometimes people prefer the look of the factory setup. In my opinion, aftermarket radios do not look good and make the interior look cheap. . Especially $30 ones... But everyone can do what they want 😉
Thank you for your video. I have a mini r50 from 2001. there are things that are little different but it will be very helpful to restore my car . Have a nice day 😁
Thanks so much. Just bought a 2005 mini for $800. Needs work but help when you have videos like this. The right quarter window and back window were broken. That's $800 fix itself, but still worth the car's value.
This is a 1986 shadow right? I've had mine apart and back together 50 times now and I must be doing something wrong. Does your clutch diaphragm spring have pressure against the pack when you tighten the nut down? Mine you can spin with your fingers. I must be doing something wrong. Did your clutch work after this video?
Hi, It is actually for a 1996 shadow but it should be the same. There should be some pressure on the clutch spring. It worked well after the video. Is yours not working? If so, what is it doing?
Don't bother with this adapter, get a second hand or cheap head unit by a reputable brand and you'll transform it's system and add all sorts of features. The factory speakers are big for the size of the car, and had to be artificially restricted by the head unit to help sell the HK upgrade. This means it responds to a head unit upgrade on factory speakers better than any other car I've known.
