Plywood is actually stronger than dimensional lumber. No such thing as too much construction adhesive; do not use wood glue. The nails are only there till the glue dries. Better to use structural screws than 16d nails, makes it all tighter like plywood but more like a lam beam. GRK screws come in lengths up to 4". I've done this and over-nailed (too many) with 8d ring-shank nails. Keep it all as tight as possible.
Thanks for the feedback ! There’s a lot of conflicting information regarding screws vs nails for these types of repairs. Screws do offer more clamp force but from my research can be prone to breaking or splitting the wood, as opposed to nails which can flex

@@architect_talk it does give a nice challenge which I like but there's times I'll have a image in my mind and be stoked to put it somewhere other than my head and then the only thing that stops or makes me change it is a damn property or any case a building block on the property and it just kills the whole idea for me so I'ma have to change it, ya I can make a change but it usually kills the original feel I had for it and honestly that's what powers my best work so it is worth just changing the idea too something else I can get into personally but no a challenge of creativity is fun when willing lol sometimes I just want my cool ideas to work lmao

It's been doing my nut in for years. I have renovated 3 properties now where most developers would have raised and rebuilt. It's incredible how many old lovely building are demolished for this modern crap. Wish i had more money to save more buildings
@@architect_talk what do you mean by unify the aesthetic? Make all stones look same color? Now you can clearly see what Gaudi did and what the modern interpretation is.
My question is why the hell are you still using stucco? It is an age old substance that we have been putting on houses for years. It looks ugly as hell and it just doesn’t last go with traditional siding. Our house has had siding on it for almost 20 upwards of 30 years And it’s still going since the day that we put it in but on the other hand, I have a buddy that he has a house that was built 30 years ago and has stucco and he’s constantly always sweeping up the front driveway in the front porch because the shit just falls off the wallsdoesn’t matter if you bump it or anything, it just crumbles those reasons why traditional siding I know that there’s going to be contractors out there that would disagree to the moon and back, but I’m just going by from what I’ve seen and what I’ve been told

Density doesn’t always mean cities. Some of my favorite places in the country are tied to the quintessential American small town. New Hope PA. Colorado Springs. Asbury Park New Jersey.
In the 1970's urban planners shoved people into buildings. Crime escalated, ghettos formed. Concentrating a mass of people into one place leads to negative consequences
There have been good and bad examples in our past. Dense doesn’t have to mean mega urban super city. The American “small town” with a Main Street, small businesses, parks etc. were fundamental historical places. Gettysburg and Lancaster PA are both great examples of walkable towns that are rich in history, but aren’t so overwhelming
I do not care to live in city. Im from contry side of Jersey and now im Tx north of Houston. I like to take drives to the city but never live in one. More land means more beautiful and quiet privacy
I love the history and culture that cities present. Even if not a city, a small town. I also love being out in nature and in rural areas. It’s the suburbs that seem to be void of anything worthwhile. You don’t get the same privacy as you do in rural areas, and you don’t get the excitement of the urban
You can only dig so deep before you hit hit water, or bedrock, which increase the cost of the project. In this market, an expensive project means no project.
You can have both… it’s called own some property. Stop caving in living in a dense populated over priced HOA trash or even worst a multi key card scan to get into building scan to get into elevator scan to get into unit trash.
I live in a three-story rowhouse with no HOA. I have a side alley and a backyard that gets plenty of sun. there’s a convenience, store, and three restaurants within three blocks of my house. Density doesn’t have to mean megacity, the small town has always been a fundamental component of America
We have these awesome creations called parking decks. They’re a lot like parking lots, but you can stack them. And pedestrians have their own lane, you won’t believe it, it’s called a SIDEWALK!!! The things we can do. And to combat hot cities from no greenery, we can even make green rooftops! If only we could get money out of the way, so we can actually have functional/ sustainable cities.
I think parking garages are a good resolution, but they’re just expensive. As a standalone structure developers, don’t want to pay for that. And as an integrated structure to a residential building, it takes up more space than what it’s worth.

Had to do that when my house flooded and we didnt have flood insurance it was a no flood zone untill that one rainy winter of 2005 had to do it ourselves 💪🏽
