Pelicans shoulda won game 1 against the “western favorites” with no Zion and an injured BI. The Pelicans should have also won their play-in the prior season with no Zion. And finally the Pelicans should have taken the Suns to 7 with no Zion and imo would have beat them if you could have replaced CJ with DJ that season (21-8-9). You sleeping on how talented this team really is now that we have a legit 2 way baller with size advantage replacing CJ at the PG. You’ll see it unfold this season tho.

Opening night lineup: DJ,Herb,Zion, B.I. Karlo If Karlo proves himself in preseason he’ll get the starting nod. Otherwise it’ll be Theis Our bench will be Jose, CJ, Jevonte, Trey and JRE. Missi, Hawk, Reeves, and Ryan will get the last 3-4 minutes of blowout garbage time.
@@j03_54There will be injuries, he will be the back up a few nights, but he should polish his game in the g league until around all start break, so he’s ready for the late season push and teams won’t have recognized his game.
The way you’re are explaining this, it sounds very personal. CJ shot 42% when he was off ball. He’s the pigeon without a doubt, but he gives effort. And he definitely can come off the bench for $33M, for this season. Especially if he’s leading the 2nd unit. But you definitely make a good point about him, BI and Trey not being on the team next season. I think you’re being too hard on CJ tho. And he knows that number has to come down next season. Regardless of what team he’s playing for.
Guys, I hate to say this, but the New Orleans Pelicans almost always have their backs to the wall b/c they consistently acquire older players at a premium price who are passed their prime, and they fail to develop their young players so they end up with a team of players who are redundant to each other and clunky so their games don't fit the style of play that the Pels want to run. They end up depreciating the value of their players so it gets really difficult to try to trade them when they need to make a trade! BI plays isolation b-ball and doesn't shoot enough 3 pointers to keep up with the modern NBA game. Zion is an outstanding player, but he is also an injury prone one trick pony undersized power forward who seriously needs to have developed a mid-range jumper years ago. He doesn't have Shaq's size to be able to keep up with Shaq's points in the paint stats! And, CJ is a 32 year old $30 million a year undersized shooting guard who is not fully committed to playing solid defense all game long so it will be hard enough trying to find a trade partner for him much less all the fools out there talking about letting him come off the bench the Pels will never be able to trade a 30 plus year old $30 million a year back up. That is so crazy that people can't understand that! Willie Green did right to play Herb Jones his rookie year. Look how well a young talented player develops when you let him play. He stunted Trey Murphy's development until he start letting him play and what do you know he got much better within half a season! Charles Barley said it best that he's never seen someone get better at something the less they do it! Put these young guys in the game. Coach them up. Let the make their mistakes during the season so that they can learn from them so by the time the playoffs come around they'll be ready for that level of competition instead of just getting thrown to the wolves b/c they have to get plugged in the game due to injuries or other necessities! It's not rocket science!!!

@Theoriginialdonguillory He's not going to start. He may get 15 minutes a game. It's essential that he be able to score buckets and hit free throws. He'll Be a liability if he doesn't. He's a project That may not make a contribution for at Least two years. He has very little experience . The centers in the West will Eat him up.
Where do you put CJ? What about BI? Herb/zion/DJM for sure. We roll with no center? Someone gonna be captain of the 2nd line. Say put BI to be the best 6th man in the league.
If the Pelicans want to win, then Willie Green has to grab has to drop his balls, which means Cj and Bi.I need to come off the bench. TREY AND Herb needs to start because we all know B.I and Cj won't be here next year. It's time to look into the future. Bench Cj with 30 million or not, he doesn't need to be on the team now, The best trade is getting rid of B.I and Cj for Karl Anthony Towns' huge contract 👏 🎉. THAT WAY WE WOULD FINALLY HAVE A DANG CENTER.
Who says Herb and /or Trey has to start?! Thats what the fans want... If the Pels are able to find an actual Center both Herb and Trey will be coming off the bench which i dont have a problem with because Zion BI DJ and CJ are our 4 best and most skilled players ans the should be starting... Having Herb and Trey along with Jose come off the bench is preferable to me because our bench is looking like poo rn ijs So get the thought of CJ coming off the bench oitta your head because it aint happenin....
CJ has been playing outnof position since he got there. They have him at the 1. With DJM there he will thrive in his normal position. He and DJM will pair very well together. The odd man out is BI. Its obvious! You cant have 4 oeople that have to have the ball in the same lineup. I mean, really!
