I am a proud 59 year member of Alpha Kappa Alpha. I also take pride in the fact that our international hymn was written by a member of the chapter in which I was initiated. Having said that, I’m also the mother, wife, and daughter in law of Omega men I could also throw in a few cousins and uncles. I must admit of all of the D9 hymns, Omega Dear is the most stirring.
Creative Uplift: To the North East South and West world wide may the blessings of heaven continue to shine upon you and yours on this beautiful day of the Lord Jesus Christ and God ❣️ 2024. So mote it be ✝️. Amen 🙏. RQQ 🌹😘🌹✨.
Nice, but too much like a funeral dirge. Needs a more 1-2-3, waltz like, rhythmic feel. It should convey inspiration and joy. Anyway, that's the way it was sung at Beta back in the day. (The Sedulous Six 10/65). Just a friendly observation.
The song says it all. My LB passed away in 2011 and everytime I sing it I feel my LB's spirit in every word. RIP Jay RoQ 1-PHI ZETA-01. Ur friend TIM 5-PHIZETA-01
@GypsiiJane Can you state a LEGITIMATE reason, besides your personal opinion, why it shouldn't be? This hymn is sang IN PUBLIC all the time. Is there something about it being on RU-vid that is different than that?
This is a very nice presentation. Its always good to showcase the dignity and reverence that we have for our organizations and highlight some highly respected members. Among the Omega men in that circle is Art Norman (former news anchor with NBC-5 and past president of the Chicago chapter of the National Association of Black Journalists). He always represents Omega Psi Phi well, as do countless other members of the fraternity! Thanks for sharing!
