I have a 6 foot white christmas tree and we all feel an attachment to it, kids and grandkids..... but its looking a bit discoloured its 26 years old, have you any ideas how to upcycle it, we just cant part with it, the frame and branches are fine its just the shabiness and discolouration..... can you please help ............we have tried spraying it but i want something different 😊 please help, ANYONE !!
My grand mother had a little tree that she covered in soft pink satin ribbons then the bought light weight plastic ornaments (like nutcrackers, dancers, Santa’s, and etc…she spray painted them soft white and repainted them in soft subtle colors. Once dried, she sprayed clear varnish as this was done almost 50 years ago, before it dries she sprinkled episome salt. She used white twinkle lights with the cord wrapped in the same ribbon..she paints wooden balls the same colors used on the ornaments and strung them for garland. It was the most elegant, magical, tree I had/have seen.
Have you tried the spray on snow? You can get a nice frosted effect from it. It would hide any discoloration. Or embrace the shabby chic look. Use things like burlap to make ornaments, bows, & garland.
