@@DaveKear I’ve noticed a lot of musicians begin as kids. Do you think that if someone began at 19 and played as much as you, that they would be “6 years behind” you (relatively as skilled as you are at 67 when they’re 73) assuming all things being equal, or is there something about learning when you’re young that gives an innate advantage?
If you take formal classical guitar lessons with a good teacher, get that technique down, then don't ever put down the guitar, you'll probably play much better than me.@@moehoward21
Thanks Gilyslas! Glad the nails are working for you. I've been using them now for over 35 years. Boy, you blink and 10 years goes by. (Got to stop blinking).
This is unbelievable! Dave is always note perfect, but what makes it so enjoyable to watch is that he plays everything with such soul and passion. Please let's have more soon.
Have you ever tackled the Alfred Hitchcock theme? (Something about a Marionette!) I know you'd do it justice. Love, love, love your stuff. Like the Bread song, you truly are The Guitar Man!
Hello there! The way you play is so smooth! Reminds me of Luiz Bonfa a little bit haha. Are you using steel or nylon strings? I thought steel but the way you mute the metallic sounds I'm not so sure at parts haha. Looking to get new strings Beautiful playing btw!
Thanks Gilbert. That is a Kenny Hill La Curva with a Fishman pick up recording into a Roland 2480 with a BLUE Mouse mic. A lot of the stuff I play is just by ear and what I can remember. I did play the melody a bit wrong, but I guess I'm getting away with it. Next time maybe I'll take a look at the music :)
I recently bought your nails and man they are awesome! BTW your playing is out of this world, fantastic! Do you have music or transcriptions for your arrangements please let us know. Keep up the great work. I am truly a fan!!!
Hey Gilbert, thanks. The Bach piece here is one I learned from sheet music from a book I have called "Fur Die Lute". Other than that I don't have transcriptions for the pop tunes. I just go by the chords and work out the melody, and then hopefully memorize it.
David this is Frank. You played this for me today. I am very impressed by your playing. Your nail instructional videos are also very helpful. Thank you for the help on my order today. I really appreciate you man.
