Food reviews new and vintage, everything old. I buy all food and products in my videos to show how it holds up. History documentation showing old items. The stuff on my channel is bought from collectors mostly or estate sales mostly after someone dies or auction for the special rare ones. I know a guy who owns an estate sale company and he saves and sells stuff like this to me. I make videos of vintage items I find interesting along with wildlife and review videos. My channel started off as mostly wildlife, trapping and trains but people say they rather my videos of old stuff but I will still post those things sometimes. Thanks for watching. was just eating planters salted peanuts from a can and i was thinking how long i could eat past expire date. i was sure you had a video, but i cannot find one. i suspect it is because peanuts are too delicious to be left uneaten.
I remember about 20 years ago the factory that used to make a lot of microwave popcorn had problems with their employees developing lung problems. There was some sort of Fake butter, orange looking stuff that the employees kept breathing in.. Just saying.
I have pineapples slices that are 2 years past the expiration date. I’ve kept them in my garage pantry and they taste amazing! My guess is I believe the commercial canning process allows us to eat the canned food probably up to 15yrs past the expiration date.
I found Maple Spam at Ollie's recently, and have been wondering what I can do with it. I picked up a small can of sweet potatoes (the kind I turn into "praline sweet potato casserole" at Thanksgiving) on the same trip; maybe they would go together?
Some things people decide to eat amazes me. Things like: - Sauerkraut - Frogs legs - Century eggs - Snails - Balut - Surstromming I can only imagine people _had_ to eat them in the past because that was the only food available, but I'm curious why it became tradition.
"Some cans make a hissing sound when opened because they are vacuum-packed and the noise is a result of air pressure. This is perfectly NORMAL." However, if a can hisses loudly or the contents spurt forcefully out of the can when opened, it may be an indication that the food is unsafe. Do not taste or use such food. Place the can and its contents in a heavy garbage bag. Close and place the bag in a regular trash container or bury it in a nearby landfill.
I believe there were/are several microwave ovens that would rotate a waveguide to sweep the waves throughout the food evenly instead of a rotating plate. I doubt a smol gadget like this would have one, but I guess you never know, until you tear one apart.
