I get you. I just don't think memphis and tulane will want to go from one group of 5 conference to essentially another. The financial gain they get just isn't really big enough for them to leave the AAC. I think they wait it out and try to join the acc or big 12(probably the acc when fsu/clemson leave). Now, I am very sure that unlv will be in the pac 12 but it's just an issue with if nevada has to come with them.

@@sportology616 I’m on the ground here in Memphis, they definitely do. The problem with the AAC is outside of Tulane there aren’t any comparable brands left with the BIG12 and ACC exits. There’s more of a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush mindset here. Because the worst possible outcome (which is very possible) is that the major brands in the ACC go to the SEC and BIG10, while the other desirable schools disperse themselves between the BIG12 and PAC12. Then Memphis would be stuck outside of any stable conference reaching for what’s left. Better to take an invite from what would undoubtedly be the 5th best league in college football than to continue to not sell tickets because fans don’t want to see games with Rice, UAB and East Carolina. The PAC12 would fix attendance and fan apathy because it’s filled with branded names in college football.

Hmm it's definitely a risk on Memphis' part to skip out on the pac 12, but I have seen sources report that memphis and tulane are not yet sold on the pac 12's potential media rights deal. With that being said, I could very well see them jump ship to the pac 12, and make it the 5th best conference. I could also see them take the risk and join the big 12/acc. Since the acc already added smu I am sure that if/when they lose fsu/clemson and whoever else that they would add memphis and tulane. It's 100% a tough scenario to be in for memphis and tulane because you don't want to miss out on a p4 conference, but you also don't want to stay in a mid one either.
