Unfortunately, this has been going on for months with no action by the Commission. This Commission has not placed a single action item on their agenda for over a year. The urgency clause is not meant to address a misdemeanor criminal activity that has been occurring for months. Hopefully the Chair does some actual research on how to conduct a meeting.

A company out of Salt Lake City, Utah is responsible for maintenance. They have been contacted several times, refuse to do anything to correct the problem.
@@RussellBettsgogov No fresh or salt water will ever be added to the Mistake Lake. It has been systematically drying up since the late 70s. There will be almost no "blowing particulates" added to the area as the newly exposed playa will soon start to be locked into a salt crust similar to what is in Utah. So many people guess at the future, they should instead look at history. The Salton Sea (The Mistake Lake) has no reason to be refilled. Scarce precious water will not be added - hell, San Diego cannot even get another desalination plant adjacent to the ocean. If anyone in a position of responsibility wanted water added to the Mistake Lake, then they would build 4 massive desal plants in San Diego and restore the diverted water...proof positive no water will be going to the "Salton Sea". Actually - refilling will re-start at the completion of the next Ice-Age. Wait for it... "Water import" is pure folly and impossible even if free. You cannot convey ocean water below sea level in an active earthquake zone over a fresh water aquifer. The assertion is completely ridiculous. Plans are to fashion a small shallow lagoon for some fish and birds. They'll love you for it - for $250 million (easier to build a zoo?) Mother Nature will win out here and elsewhere. She always does eventually.
Nice buses, company reaches everyone in the coachella valley, unfortunatelly many drivers are leaving for the poor management and poor working conditions... not sure if its true. But the talk amongs the passengers is that service may be interrupted due to a coming strike. A driver told us their contract was a slap in the face..

They make it safer for pedestrians and easier for cars to access Palm Drive and Pierson. The light at Palm and Desert View turned out to be way more beneficial that I imagined it would be. For sure their a people that want to get everyone out of their cars but you are overthinking this one. They are as they appear. Traffic signals installed to enhance pedestrian safety and the added benefit to motorists.

Yes, you may use this if you credit me in the video clip as "rbetts gogov.com" The footage is from the city of Desert Hot Springs, California and took place on October 26, 2020. There did not appear to be any serious injuries. An elderly man who was not at fault did appear shaken up. His air bag did deploy in the crash. A woman who appeared to be in her late 30s, early 40s and can be seen running the red light turned left in front of oncoming traffic and caused the collision.
It would be so amazing in our city if you would add horseshoe pits and frisbee golf in some of these parks! It’s a great way to offer something for families to do and tournaments can even be arranged.
Love this place!!! Great food and wide selection of delicious and "spicy" food . They make the food as spicy as you like or mild. Trust me, East Indian food can be spicier than my Mexican food. Try them and they will be your favorite.
There has to be a deterrent, If the property owner on record is fined $500 for first offense and $1000 for second etc. this will hurt as it's a hit on the pocket book. Final infraction is revoking permit to rent out the property. This is what Pasadena does when it comes to 4th of July fireworks and I hear it has made a major impact.
You are not going about changing the perception of Desert Hot Springs the right way. Making Desert Hot Springs cleaner today so that people who don't come up here that would get a different impression of the city than they think it is is doing nothing to change their perception of the city for them. You defeated your pitch when you told the story of the woman you talked to in the parking lot. Now what?
The woman in Palm Desert had the mistaken impression that our city is graffiti ridden. It is not. It is essentially graffiti free. By comparison, the shopping center in Palm Desert where I talked to her had graffiti that was very prevalent. And we have no shopping center in our city anywhere near the state of disrepair as that I saw.

@@rjstevegiboney8637 Did not understand your point or figured you did not understand mine so I repeated it. The point is we are making good progress on the areas covered in the video and those in the other cities dumping on us will do well to look where they are not doing well.
You keep talking about people who either don't come to DHS or don't come here any more and you talk to them about how it has been cleaned up. What is the use in telling these stories about people who are not going to verify that the city has cleaned up? They don't care about DHS, they have no vested interest in DHS and instead have a preference for the city they live in like the lady from Palm Desert. You are pointing out conversations with people who couldn't care less about DHS. Why not have conversations with people who DO live here and get their perception of the city? Using a lady who never comes here as your sounding board about how much has been done here means virtually nothing. We live here, we know what's going on here. She doesn't and she's not going to take her conversation with you much past the next moot sprinkler head in the dirt near her car. If you want to do some real good with your angle of talking to people from other cities talk to people from other cities who travel to our city regularly and can verify that we're improving. Get those people to promote and be ambassadors for our city. Otherwise people's opinions about the city they never visit won't change just because you SAY it's better here. They will want to verify it for themselves and if they never come here again what's the point?
That is the Russ I admire. Looking out for the people. He is not OK with city staff/council rushing through the most important governing item of the council. Rushing through a deal always reminds me of a used car salesman rushing the sale hoping you will not notice the body rust/cancer or a bad engine. If the budget was right, then why the rush?.
