The turbine part handoff was insane. Looks like an incredible machine and considering the video is 10 years old a used machine might even be in my price range. I'll have to check you guys out at IMTS 2024!
Was on those for a while, the MS40 had the indexing bar feeder and variable programming but the company had douches running the dept so I went back to the mori dept

To perform thread-whirling, the work-piece suppose to rotate at low-speed; perhaps 10-30rpm. So how is it possible to pre-turn the workpiece's outer diameter with an external turning-tool SIMULTANOUSLY?
At High Speed Whirling both the whirling head and the work piece rotate at a high rotational speed according to the ratio between number of inserts of the whirling head and the number of starts of the thread/worm. So in between the first and the second insert of the whirling head the work piece performs an additional 360° (one start) or 180° (two starts) or 120° (three starts) rotation. Since our TNL machines have several turrets we can turn the part parallel to the High Speed Whirling process. This means, less tool wear of the whirling inserts, less chips that might get stuck in the whirling head and of course much higher productivity.
