I like to fix things or restore them. On this channel, I work with O Gauge trains, DieCast cars and trucks and occasionally some woodworking or home improvement projects. I also like editing and creating graphics for my videos so you’ll see some of that too. Thanks, Bob
Looks great! I truly appreciate your budget builds and your previous videos have inspired me to paint and re-decal my budget purchases. What type of wood did you start with to rip down your scale lumber? I've thought about ripping my own but was afraid it would warp too much. I've re-decked the inside of boxcars and done homemade platforms using coffee stir sticks. They are fairly stable.
Hi. It never ran well. It was basically just a project to see what I could do with the shell. The powered base must be one of the cheapest chassis that Lionel ever made. 🫤
Great work on that boardwalk / wharf section Bob! As far as painting it I'm not so sure, maybe a light grey wash overall to simulate weathered lumber? Say diluted black ink? Just a suggestion. Thanks for posting!

@@bobsworkshop5181 yes, actually tho a bird somehow got in and did a lot of damage to the scenery. Knocked down trees and blew grass around along with taking out my model airplane. I have a video on my security camera of him flying around. I’m considering packing the layout up in hopes of finding a house soon. I’m planning on doing a video about it when I have time and can see better. I had a macular hole in my left eye that I had surgery on a few weeks ago so I’m waiting for my vision to come back better. The bird and my eye have slowed my video production. It’s been a bad year for me health wise. 👎🏻
I have had terrible luck with that 2x paint... you just never know if you will get crinkling and have to repaint it 2x's... your caboose came out great!
Ok that looks good. Well not having any sisters, I never saw that movie... but the cars look great, actually the caboose is really cool. The banner fits it perfect!
Awesome video, Thank you. I started making my own Disney cars back in the late 80s early 90s before the regular person could afford a computer, let alone make decals. I took Lionel box cars and others that I picked up at the flea market, no ebay yet!, Disney published a monthly/quarterly sales catalog. This was my source for "decals" to make train cars. I made 20 plus cars and engines doing it that way. In the late 90s I found dry transfers by Janice Bennett. I had color matched and with the dry transfers made my own "Girls Train" I really can appreciate what you're doing. Thank you for sharing, all your videos.
We still have those VHS tapes today from Disney. That was a great movie. Great story and the work you did on both the caboose and the box car really made it a memory for you and your daughters.

I have 5 of the Lionel Sunoco 3 dome tank cars I took apart and sanded and repainted all the frames and scrubbed the plastic as well as could be done without removing the decals. Cheers from eastern TN
I tried a transparent decal sheet with my inkjet printer but when I applied the finished decal the image ( in this case tender lettering) disappeared into the background color completely! I was advised to use white background decal stock and highlight the lettering with the appropriate color. That worked. I also white decal stock for railroad heralds and that works fine as well.
