Jason, I have an unusual issue pertaining to the GHR that you might have some insight on. I'm incredibly strong with anything lower body dominant outside of barbell squats and deadlifts, so things like sleds, ghrs, glute ham raises, back extensions, etc. End of last year I started getting into GHRs and was eventually doing this with work sets of 3x10 holding 80+ pounds in front of my chest. I ended up starting to get some weird piriformis/glute medius lingering type pain and I eventually had to remove this exercise from my training. Would you recommend someone like me just stick with machine leg curls to get the knee flexion stimulus? The GHR itself at the gym I'm at is really not that great, I remember the first time I tried it out it felt "off" to me, especially the way the foot plate and pads were designed.
Would a man coming off of a brain injury be able to run this program? I would substitute Back Squats with Box Squats the Bench Press with a Floor Press along with substituting the OHP with a WG Incline Press Thank you 🤝
How about making a video in your thoughts about reviving old time 1890's through 1936 era physical culture training methods seeing as that's a movement that's slowly gaining traction
No if a person puts a pew pew to your head and says do three more reps are your dead the ADRENALINE and fear will give you the ability to do three reps
Bro you doing 6-9 sets places you in the volume camp, high intensity uses 1-2 sets per muscle group.Arthur Jones,Ellington Darden,Mike Mentzer all actually advocated 1-2 sets per muscle group
No one cares just use COC grippers or something as an official grip test. I say that because DOH deadlift isn't a test of anything but grip strength since you will never be anywhere near your true weight and there are sanctioned grip contests already for comparative purposes.
I was curious because I was thinking maybe not shocking the muscle but working antagonist or something on the opposite side of the body for example RN I do deadlift then bent rows then ohp I feel like I should go to ohp before hitting the back again now not sure bc I have squat bench and lay pull down on the other day
Do you consider this impressive 225ib 90 degree bent over row for 10 reps very strict like 100 percent perfect form and teachnigue under 200ibs body weight
40 50 60 aint old. You get cut, fracture a bone does it heal ? Then your body is still building new tissue and you can get stronger. The word is "Can " Most love the word " Can't." Lift Hard and Heavy.
