Well that reaction after he saw Luke after killing Obi Wan said it all. He sensed something and he curiously was drawn right to Luke. I imagine it would not have taken that long for him to figure out who Luke really was. Luke was not exactly hiding his past himself from Vader either.
He kind of did in the old comic books. But maul knew Vader would kick his butt if they did fight one on one without interference from Papaltine or any potential ally of muaul’s.
I believe that if Anakin would have stayed on the current path and fulfilled his potential, he could have overthrown the Chancellor. But since he was badly injured during his fight with Obi-Wan, he owed everything to Palpatine. He created a suit for him to still exist and vowed eternal loyalty to him. So, betraying/overtaking him was clearly not in his thoughts.
Im pretty sure at first he knew Yoda wouldve wiped the floor with him, and later on realized yoda wasnt gonna try a big comeback or anything, but will rather just stay hidden, so i guess Vader took a breath and kept going
Surprisingly, in canon, Dooku didn't know that Palpatine was actually Darth Sidious, until he revealed himself sometime between episodes 2 and 3, even though Dooku spoke with Sidious on numerous occasions (he kept his hood and voice low I guess). Dooku genuinely wanted Obi-Wan to join his separatist movement and eventually help him destroy Sidious.
Why do we forget that Anakin's been crying and whining all through the movie and he did that in the previous movie, too. He was never emotionally stable. And the reason was simple. The Jedii weren't meant to keep attachments and Anakin didn't give up on them.
Personally I think he will let her be. Remember Anakin Skywalker had a grudge against Barriss, not Darth Vader. But I think Barriss will know it’s him causing her to try and kill him at some point or maybe even causing her to go back to the light.
Oh yes Vader should. Barriss Offee needs to die for not only what she did to Ahsoka but for her being a Half hearted DarkSide user 🤷🏾♂️ She isn’t really about that life & is nothing more then a disgruntled Jedi that was unhappy with certain things but didn’t want the order to actually be destroyed that’s all so yes Get her gone 👏🏾.
The worst thing is obviously he was manipulated but at the same time he could have had everything he wanted. He could have left the order and lived with padme and their children while I can imagine he and obi wan and all the other Jedi he was close with would still have been his friends. I can literally imagine obi wan going to visit him and being like glad he was happy no longer being shackled by the order and dealing with politics. But fate works in shitty ways and he caused his own downfall.
Personally, if prefer it if Baress is killed off. I have a feeling Disnet doesn't have the balls to do it, but it'd be a nice change since everyone seems to be kept alive in star wars. No death seems very permanent. Though I am curious about Baress overall. If she'll turn to the dark side fully or be redeemed in the end. And if she is killed off, then I wouldn't be surprised if one of the reasons is that she figures out Vader is Anakin, cause she's fought him before. Not just as a jedi, but when Anakin was angry. But i won't like it if she's kept alive after the revelation. You're right. Too many people know Anakin is Darth Vader, and it shouldn't be that way at all.
I still believe Vader could sense Luke was his son at the end of A New Hope. "The force is strong with this one." Vader then fired several shots over Luke's X-Wing just before Han flew in to knock out Vader. He knew through the force that Luke was his son.
He sided with Palpatine to save Padme. After she died his reason for joining the sith was gone, but he had already betrayed the jedi. He was stuck serving Palpatine and Padme was dead.
R2 was also privy to the fact that Vader revealed to Luke that he was Anakin. At that point, Luke knew the truth. There would be at that point absolutely no reason not to reveal to Luke good things about his father's past. R2 could have easily told Luke small things, like how gentle Anakin was with Padme on their voyage to Naboo from Attack of the Clones. He most certainly could have talked to Luke about their wedding, and how beautiful it was. I mean, he's not going to tell him about how Anakin went to the Jedi Temple and slaughtered the younglings. But the good moments would have done nothing to hurt Luke, but heal him if nothing else.
In legends they did fight well a clone of maul in the excellent dark horse comic series or the tales of the Jedi comic series from about 2000 or a bit before
You really need to pay a visit to Jensaarai1, EvanNova95, Antoine Bandele and Rob Terra's channels. They've been doing Star Wars Versus matchups for years, and so much better than this. Full martial breakdowns, brief biography, martial training, Force powers and other abilities, strengths and weaknesses, and a good deal of referencing visual guides, sourcebooks (such as The Jedi Path, The Book of Sith, the visual atlases etc.) comics, TV shows and movies. You could actually provide said sources rather than say them out loud without showing comic panels or relevant scenes to your analysis, it would be so much more interesting. Sadly, you're using Disney and TCW material, which are very inconsistent and finnicky. Lastly, this fight was a pretty obvious mismatch. It would be better to pitch two opponents who are more easily comparable.

It's not even close. Darth Vader steamrolls over Darth Maul easily. The best chance Maul would have would be immediately after Vader got his suit. After that, it would go more and more in Darth Vader's favor. Maul would be mid-diff for Vader at best.
Vader hold a grudge? Naaaaaaaaaaah……………. Of course he will. Barriss will need to escape in order to survive and appear on Ahsoka. The Kenobi series didn’t happen. Except for the flashback between Anakin and Obi-Wan. The rest was a Force Vision.
As we know darth vader was a natural engineer and could use technoguru or whatever so what if he used skill to create nanobots to repair his lungs and burns while also making limbs that could conduct the force to make lightning. This could relate to inquisitor baris as she used nanobots in the bomb and he may remember nanobots and their uses. He could could also conduct experiments diguised as torture to fool sidious, learning to heal wounds, make force sensitive droids/limbs and using nano bots to manipulate mididclorians to strip or enhance the force in individuals. What I was thinking was that he used nanobots to remove scar tissue especially around the lungs and he would be dipped in bacta or bacta would be applied this would allow him breath which means he can meditate more deeply. And for the limbs, it is possible to make material force sensitive and I was thinking he make limbs skeletal looking like in attack of the clones but would then cover the we either grafed flesh from his body or flesh made from his blood and other ingredients like perhaps kyber crystal this would make the force flow from him easier and perhaps with the sith alchemy in the limbs making his force lightning more powerful. Basically an uber vader who is perhaps stronger than full potential anakin.
Honestly force users knowing Vader is anakin makes sense. If you’ve spent time with him you should be able to recognize his signature in the force. It doesn’t matter if it’s currupted or not
In my opinion, Vader never became a true Sith Lord because he never sought power for power's sake. He was extremely powerful and violent but he didn't crave dominance in the same way Sidious did. Anakin's actions came from a place of hurt and loss, not a desire to dominate.
hey mate great vid, keep it up! Your voice sounds a little thin though, maybe consider a new mic that picks up low end a little better and scoops out the mid-range frequencies a little (for example: the blue baby bottle large-diaphragm condenser mic). all the best
This is the current cannon reason right? sorry but including this I've heard 3 different scenarios over the years 1. This one 2. He got the info from a rebel he interrogated after his ship crashed on Yavin IV right after A New Hope 3. He recognized his old Lightsaber after Luke and gang were on a mission for the rebellion and Luke stated it was his father's Lightsaber.
To be honest, maybe but don’t forget the Emperor doesn’t dismiss potential use for people for him to use for his benefits and the last thing Vader wants is for his personal grudge to cause a big issue between him and his master.
