I like the fact that you were critical about your own work, but it's really nice, not at all an easy shot to pull off... Just like you mentioned, my first instinct was also that the light in the background was too hard (kinda looks more like a streetlight or something), perhaps you could have used some deffuser or a dimmer, would have loved to see that! Also I feel like there is just a bit too much contrast in your shot, we have the very dark background (literally pitch black) and then the fully lit leaves (which lose their colour a bit because of the hard white light(which is also ashame) ), but this really pulls the attention away from the character. You also mentioned the focus pull that you couldn't do on your own (which is normal), but I would have chosen to put the focus on the end of the movement, because at that moment, we don't have anything else to look at except from the character (no more movement or anything). One final thing (just speaking my thoughts), I would advise you to put a bit more attention into the composition (choose if you want to show his hands and legs on his hip, or cut them off completely in your endcomposition), don't make a half chose (if you know what I mean). I was also wondering which lense you used btw? But oh well, that's just my opinion. Again loved the video, keep trying things out! ;)
I want to say thanks for such good feedback and even giving my video I watch ! … are you pointed out a couple things? I already knew that I need to improve on which makes me happy that I know as well.. it was raining on and off that day and I didn’t take more than four takes for the scene so I wasn’t able to adjust the light. I just kept shooting to get it done but thanks learned a lot next video, I will do better
@@quadirmayfield your sense for music is amazing and the way you talk is also very captivating. i think you should start a serious podcast. lemme know if you ever need original music for something.
I love Barry Lyndon so much, I was delighted to find out that you were referring to this great film in your title. Cool video, it was very interesting hearing your thought process, and I'm always a sucker for getting a peek into the technical artistry and care that goes into filmmaking. :)
Yeah I love that movie. I can watch it 1000 times and still find some thing I didn’t see thanks for watching. I hope you learn something about the making that you didn’t know already I’m consistently learning every day.
Do you think the smoke from one of those looks different than a real cigarette on camera? It would be interesting to compare a few side by side and see if there's a noticeable difference.
Hey man, I've seen a lot of sports from big creators, but yours are very impressiv, at l'est this one. Great video quality, great mic, just lower the music a bit. But wow, that was Good !!
Honestly tho as some one who smokes the cigarette smoke is not nearly as full bodied as it is in tv shows or movies it looks more like weed smoke that cigarette smoke which usually is only a little bit of smoke and it’s usually very wispy if you have the right lighting it looks closer to the movie counterpart but it’s still less opaque
Some ppl will say sound is the most important thing moral of the story whatever is important to you, is all that matters… But the story is very important to
