Thank you for posting this. I am looking this song long time ago. Many singer sang this song But only my ayank Maribeth has a soul for this song. It's bit cozy, light and offcorse ➡️ EASY 😂😂😂
I’M THE KING OF SEVEN SEAS!" He left California, embarking on a journey to the place he had always dreamed of-the small village not far from the center of Madrid, Spain. The buildings here still bore the ancient and simple lines he had seen in books as a young boy. Spain was a completely foreign land to him, yet after many years, he mustered the courage to come to this kingdom. For him, everything here was a new and profoundly impactful experience. He spent a lot of time walking the streets… He wasn’t in a hurry to find a place to stay. In fact, he didn’t have much money. His solo trip to this place was mainly to connect with it in his own way… From Taipei, Taiwan, to San Diego, USA, and finally, after a layover, to Spain… He walked alone in the suburbs, quietly… He remembered the famous oceanic building in Spain, its facade changing like waves… The protruding and recessed windows… casting a transparent, rainbow-like halo that danced… He spent an entire day outside that famous building, witnessing its many scenes and the changes between light and shadow… Over 30 years old and still alone, Because he felt he had nothing, and because he had no confidants due to his stubborn thoughts, Only a very perceptive, talented, and intelligent woman could break through his psychological defenses… At the same time, because such girls often couldn’t make him madly infatuated with their appearance… So, although he had good nature and upbringing, he could never have true feelings… After a long absence of emotional life, he wanted to find another way out for his weary self, And Spain was an unfulfilled dream of his. He wanted to actually touch those people… events… and objects! He had heard many legends about Spain in Taipei before… Those round and elegant Latin jazz tunes… The brilliant and gentle sunshine, the streets made of ancient stones… And the Spanish girls and blond Latin boys that could be seen everywhere in Tianmu… All gave him plenty of room for imagination… His heart seemed to roam invincibly across the seas with the Spanish sailors of 700 years ago… Facing the azure sky and the boundless sea breeze, he shouted, “I’M THE KING OF SEVEN SEAS!” With such echoes, he left his homeland. Now, he was standing on the soil of this kingdom… And the first night he came to this village was Convincing the priest of the church to let him stay overnight with a few words. This first person who talked to him for more than 5 minutes asked him… What are you doing in this small place after crossing the ocean? He fell into a long contemplation… Then he said: I want to stay… stay for a long time! Because I want to marry a girl from here and hope she can bear me a child! Then let my child take my ashes back to Taiwan, the place where I was born… The priest asked again: If the child you have is a girl… what do you plan to name her? I think… let’s call her Mecano.
Thank you so much Jimmy. At age 89, you bring back memories of one of the most incredible concerts I have ever been privileged to attend. Bringing together that number of outstanding musicians was in itself a huge challenge and tribute . Beyond words! It lasted until about 1am. By that time many had left so my wife and I, originally on the back lawn, ended up in the near empty front rows.
I was so honoured lucky to have breakfasted with Dizzy and then his guest for dinner and the show at Ronnie Scott's in 1973 along with his life long friend, Bermudan actor Earl Cameron and family. Dizzy was a teetotaller after the death of his sidekick saxophonist Charlie Parker from alcoholism. Dizzy was also a great jazz pianist.
This was a huge local hit in NYC. A DJ started using this as his "break" song, I think it was Frankie Crocker, and it just took off even though it had no promotional support.
The gentleman suggested that I should run a wide sub-woofer for this song. After a trial with 15" woofer, I immediately realized this song has very deep & impressive bass.
This is Roger Waters' song, made using the Ennio Morricone line for the movie "1900"... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Q9M4-myfudU.html
Filippa Giordano, a cross-singing girl from Italy, has a lot of skillful coloratura and high notes in this CD. She also sang the Lost Boys Calling movie The Pianist at Sea This song was originally written by the legendary Italian film scorer Ennio Morricone and written by Pink Floyd Rogers Waters sang Van Halen's Edward and Van Halen's first film theme song Lost Boy Calling Lost Calling This female version sounds better than the original. It was my best recommended cd in 2000. Only two copies were released in Taiwan Zhang her cd
Now after hearing this folks; Who wants to listen to "America's Got Talent"? These guys were the cream of the crop- some already gone long before this concert. Still some over the top musicians out there, some just teenagers; but you probably won't hear them on network TV.
Freddie Hubbard, was a superhero of mine, still is. Mr. Hubbard, we'll never forget your talent you were able to put forth until that lip injury. Slide Hampton and Frank Rosolino, my two favorite trombone players. Frank died in '78, or I'd bet he'd been in this concert.
Ruth Brown was such a beautiful and talented soul. The first time I saw her was in Memphis at the then called Handy Awards in 2006. I was down and out tired and was leaving the New Daisy Theatre about 1:00 AM. Then there came Ruth Brown, just walking in. I lived in Las Vegas where Ms. Brown also lived. So I got to see Ruth perform in a small club setting. It was one of the best shows I ever saw. And I got to hear her perform this beautiful and touching song. Today the song holds special meaning for me. I came looking for it because my cousin Mike Renzi, a great jazz pianist, musical arranger and director just died yesterday. He has played piano for many musicians of jazz, blues, and even pop (Lady Gaga). On this record he only plays on the last track, 'I'll Be Seeing You.' So in time Mike, I'll be seeing you. You'll probably at the gate accompanying Gabriel on his trumpet.
Thank you for sharing I haven’t heard of Mike Renzi, the pianist mentioned in the article. Performance snippets i found But he is indeed a popular piano player in JAZZ Memorable Making this kind of unpopular jazz film I know there won’t be too high a click-through rate But the repercussions of the soulmates are very commendable There are often many touching stories The understanding of the same jazz fan is in it I have liked jazz for 20 years Every song represents the life wisdom and experience of every musician and singer For me, I am willing to spend a lot of time listening That's much better than the current popular ranking songs COVID-19 is in the global pandemic May you be healthy and safe when going out, remember to wear a mask and wash your hands frequently.
Check out Mr. Gillespie's autobiography which I read back in 1980. It's an unusual book entitled "To Be or Not to Bop." I also had the good fortune of running into the maestro in a NYC airport on my way back from CA. It was 3:00 AM and he was attempting to reserve a flight. I did get a chance to have a brief conversation with him, too.
