once you select an angle using the num pad and when you try to re-select the angle than you are not allowed to change the angle by numbers! who tf made this decision to keep it that way
Love your videos. I teach color at SVA (NYC) and I appreciate that you cover how to do effects in the free version. I am davinci through and through, but one thing I stress is davinci can be free.
Great video! I am editing a music video which the source audio is a separate WAV file. Would the same process work? Thank you in advance. I've never done multicam in davinci, but I have multicam experience in other NLEs. What do you think?
Im just gonna ask. I recorded myself as three different characters. They are auditioning an actor who gets roasted the whole time. I recorded on Komodo, the FX3 and through my Ninja V for 12 but pro res raw. Look, I’ve had tough edits before, but OMG this is absolutely insane. Obviously I have to split the frame in have for the wide shot of the director & producer, (both me) in the color page, so the left & right frame allowing both characters to be in the shot for the wide, then I have have my Komodo as the CU shot. I have to sync audio as well. Then, I have my actors 2 angles and audio. I hope this doesn’t sound confusing, but could anyone, ANYONE, suggest a solution? This technique is great for linking the cameras, & audio, but remember, I also have the problem of needing to see both sides of the frames so I can link their reactions? I really feel I should deserve an academy award for this…good lord.. Thank you in advance!
Great video, been using multicam on Davinci for years and there's one thing I still cannot comprehend. You know how whenever you hit either 1, 2 or 3 on your keyboard to make the camera change and then moving forward on the timeline, the camera that you pressed on continues to be on screen? Sometimes what happens on my projects is that if I click on a keypad number, it changes the frames before the cursor on the timeline. When this happens, the highlight on the multicam goes from red to blue, has this ever happened to you? I don't know what I'm doing wrong but this messes up my workflow bad and I cannot fix it!
I feel like this is a standard feature but I can't figure out how to EDIT words that are incorrect from the transcription and I can't find a video going through transcription that shows how to do it either. Like it says "how" instead of "about" or something. How do I correct individual words?
One of my camera has a recording limit of 30mins. Soooo clips shot on that camera is 30mins and has multiple files. Can this be method be managed here?
Question, on a Canon M50 I want to use this on a 3 way adjustable tripod for real estate photography. It shows all the setting just like the 3" screen does. BUT the leveling indicators so i can level the camera while looking at the monitor. Any ideas?
if you have a line to viltrox tell them we would love sony touch to focus on the mark 2 verion ....a ssd slot for screen recording on a pro verion...and of course it would cost more
How did you get it to show fullscreen on the monitor? Mine is cropped in with FX30 and when I turn off the hdmi info display under 55 in menu the entire screen just goes blank.
Unfortunately that’s the way hdmi output works an all Sony cameras. You either have hdmi info display on the field monitor with a significant crop and instantly loose touch focus/focus tracking and your camera’s screen goes black or your turn off hdmi info display to have full screen on the monitor and the screen on your camera will remain fully working.
I do not know resolve yet, but I have to assume if you can pick your audio upfront to prevent it being switched when you star the cuts. Could you not also color grade the three cameras before doing any cuts to prevent having to copy and paste between all the clips. The whole tutorial seemed great until that last part, and I was thinking to mysef If this is how I have to do this then its not worth the trouble. With a lot of cuts it would be so easy to start missing a copy, or paste, select a wrong file, etc then mess it all up. Again you made it a point to ensure you didnt mess up the audio to have to fix later, wouldn't you also ensure you dont have to add trouble to fixing the color? So I would think a soluton to that problem should be a part of thet tutorial.
Holy cow, this made my life somuch easier! I normally just plop every source into its own track and turn on the tracks one by one to cut and delete the bits I dont want. Now I can just let it roll and use the numbers to pick whichever angle looks best. So much quicker! Thank you!
your better of opening the muti cam file in timeline with all tracks then editing the colour grades saves heaps of time and also be done for audio edits
