Aircraft carriers, sea walls, doesn't matter humankind has yet to find a way to stop mother nature. It's not just ships, I live close to the coast and have seen storms and the ocean swallow homes and roads. Rough oceans, hurricanes, avalanches, tornados, fires, ext ext mother nature is still our daddy and the one thing humans can't control.

US airspace is thousands of kilometres away from home? In South China sea rather than in the Gulf of Mexico? With fatal shootings occurring almost weekly in US, shouldn't US be more concerned with keeping peace at home? There are no firearms or lethal means of defense because most owners are pacifists or afraid of being sued. Also taking firearms into most countries is either very illegal or a royal pain in the rear to comply with.
