@@fishinwidow35 thanks , i was so excited when i first seen it !! I am slowly trying to get it to its original shape, but I’m scared to go to far with it lol
Nice finds. Only complaint is having to turn the volume up and down. Had to turn it up to hear you talking then way down when your pinpointer was beeping. If that is the Garrett pro pointer (Garrett carrot), it has a vibrate only option. I would suggest using vibrationing only in your videos. I have mine on vibrate full time. I can't stand the beeping lol.
@@1Sparrow1 thanks for your comment, I’m always trying to learn different ways to make the videos better. I will take that into consideration on my next one . I have 3 or 4 videos already to go now so be prepared for the carrot 😂
@@rayrichardson1714 lol I know !! My pin pointer sometimes gets fits or I thought it was something small . It only rang up as a 7 on the nox and that’s usually small prices of aluminum !! So glad I kept at it and found it . Now it’s back with its rightful owner .
@@1Sparrow1thanks 😊 I’m using the equinox 800 which is multi frequency ,and I have recently upgraded to the 15 inch coil it’s a game changer to the single frequency detectors.
@souwestdigger2817 Okay. I'm surprised you mentioned the machine was so chattery on the beach. I have the single frequency Fisher F75 SE, and it's a beast in dry conditions, but terrible on the wet salt water beach. I'm keeping an eye out for the Nokta Legend or the Deus 2 for a good price. But for now, Canadian tire had a sale on the Minelab Vanquish 440 (the nox's little brother). I'm actually very impressed with how stable it is on the beach. It has good depth as well. My only complaint is the lack of good target separation speed, but that's not a huge concern on the beach.
@@rapiddog1491 your right on the money lol I’m glad I decided to try under their but only detected it a few times . I only skimmed the surface, no pun intended lol I can only dream now what else I would have found if I had the time to go back a few more times.
@@souwestdigger2817 I made the comment as soon as I heard the first car on the bridge. The oyster shells were interesting also, I wonder where they came from originally. The other parkade is still there but alot harder to get under it.
@@rapiddog1491 I’m thinking they were just dumped over the bank as everyone did back in the day . As to where they came from , god knows . I did go under the other parkade but it’s very steep and I didn’t found anything . I’m still kicking myself for not going back a few more times before they took it down and turned it into the park .
Awesome hunt and round up Digger. You got to love those silver dimes, especially the 1913; and gold ring. That plug looks like a drain plug for an oil pan. Take care and keep warm.
Thanks for watching , I’m thinking the same about that plug , it is definitely nice to find gold and silver on cold days like that day ! It don’t take you long to forget about the cold when your digging good stuff lol 😝
That was a great hunt, you definitely have guts going out in that kind of cold. lol Oh! by the way your old 1913 American dime is called a Barber dime.
Hey Digger, Great hunt. If you clean up your finds before you do your round up, I think it would make a better video. I noticed you're 1 subscriber away form the 100 milestone. Hey viewers, let's get Digger over the 100 mark.
Thank you so much for your awesome advice, I am just doing this for fun but love the feed back . I will try to clean up my finds a little better , most of the time it’s a busy day afterwards and don’t have time to get a proper roundup . I’m glad you are enjoying my videos as much as I love this hobby!!
Hello, I’m new into the metal detecting hobby and I’m down in Yarmouth county, I was wondering what rules I had to follow so I can metal detect in the province. I read the article they have online but didn’t quite understand.
It’s difficult to explain, if you’re getting permission and not digging on historical places you’ll be fine . If you find something of historical significance it should be reported. But what they define as historical is the question. lol
@@souwestdigger2817 thank you so much for getting back to me, one last question are beaches and rivers fair game?? As long as they are not provincial parks?
@@justintrimm3745 I see no problem as long as you’re not on anyone’s property without permission. Provincial beaches are questionable. If you ask a provincial park ranger about beach detecting, chances are they’ll have no problem. Even on beaches fill your holes and take all the trash with you . It helps keep our province clean and makes us Detectorists look good in the public’s eyes .
Awesome finds digger. I'm waiting for you to get the rest of those Spanish coins from that treasure chest. I'm looking forward to your next finds. Take care and stay safe.
Great video. I loved that lead anchor. I could just picture it nailed to an old cabin door. I wish you had given more dates on your old coins when you did your roundup. I'd definitely hit that beach again..
Thank you for you r comment . I will try to give more dates at the end but I usually do the round up once I’m home and I still haven’t seen the dates myself because I haven’t cleaned them yet . The ships coin is around mid 1800’s .
Thanks for your reply digger. I was just curious on the coins pre-Elizabeth II. I can wait until you clean your coins and show us the dates. Other wise it's just clad. Thanks again.@@souwestdigger2817
Interesting finds digger. I really liked the fish hooks and background information about what they were used to catch. The wind really spoiled the audio. You'll have to figure out how to fix that problem. Take care and stay safe.
That sucks. I was hopng for a happy re-unification ending to this mystery. The owner would be in his 80's, (if he was still alive,) but I'm sure his kids (if he had any), would be thrilled to have something from their father. Thanks for responding to my question. @@souwestdigger2817
Awesome finds digger. The compact lid says Kissproof. The 1910 10 cent coin comes from the Straits Settlements (a group of British territories located in Southeast Asia). The coin is 60% silver. I'd be definitely hitting that field again. There's lots of interesting history there.
@@souwestdigger2817 Digger, I agree it's not an 1876. No Canadian dimes were minted that year. I know your eyes are younger than mine, but now I'm leaning to the coin being an 1875, a much rarer coin than the 1874. I hope I'm right. Can you clean that dime up better and put me out of my misery. Either way, still awesome finds. I'm envious. Keep it up. Your finds are really exciting. All the best.
hi, I just started detecting and today I went to Conrad's beach on the eastern shore, I found nothing after 4 hours. I am not sure if my detector is set up right. Is there any way you might be able to help me out?
What detector are you using ? RU-vid has everything you need , just look up your brand detector , tips, settings etc… and you should find lots of info.
@@souwestdigger2817 it is a no name. Got it on Amazon for around$135.. I watched a video on it but I can't seem to program it properly. It beeps at everything. Thanks for your reply.
@@chriseisan5443 yeah that’s a tough one . Cheaper detectors don’t usually like beaches and shorelines because of the high mineralization of the saltwater . Try lowering your sensitivity , ground balance a lot and try a few test coins to see what they give for a signal. Put a object on the ground and raise your coil to see roughly how deep your detector will go , this will be a air test .
