Having traveled with an old portable dot matrix printer , i had difficulty getting through the TSA screening at airports because of our young agents had never seen one or heard of Dot Matrix... plus they didn't like my smart ass answer about Dot Matrix being Dan Matrix's sister...
Not only remember, but had several of several categories(office/home/homeoffice/barn/vacation shed😅. Also, quite familiar w/ butter "patter"(your "washing paddle"). We (Granny, Sis,& myself)churned butter/traded @town store for coffee/sugar/& "Velveeter" cheese, Granny's comfort food) Processed 6 chickens Fri night/ traded @ town store Sat a.m. Monthly, traded chickens/chicks @ Purina Feed store for hog feed/cow feed/chicken feed & vitamin supplements. Sold eggs, milk, chickens, hog-on-pole, hams, shoulders, "fat back", "smoked/salted "country hams/shoulders". Life was one busy corperation!!
I myself born in 1955 used every item listed. Even the Gammaphone. We called it the Victrolia. My parents had one. We cranked it up and listened to the old 78 records.
I must object to the idea that anyone who can identify flash cubes or mimeograph machines would also be able to identify 19thcentury items like a washing paddle.
