What a buffoon interviewer! 18 complete games may seem like a record for a season. However, it’s not even close. Infact, I am surprised Roger didn’t correct him either? I mean Bird Fidrych had 23 complete games in 1976 & that isn’t even close to a record.
Jesus, this is the worst interview Roger has ever had. And that’s saying a lot considering this man sat through a congressional hearing on steroids. The interviewer clearly has zero knowledge of baseball and on top of that, won’t shut up. He literally cuts Roger off every time he tries to talk. Clown
18 complete games is not a Record. Not even close. 33 is the Record. And there are Dozens that have pitched more than 18 in a season. This guy doing the interview is an idiot.
Roger don't hold the record for complete games in a season!! Bob Gibson had over 20 complete games in that amazing season he had, and Valenzuela had a season of 20 complete games I believe in 86'
ANSWER: Surprisingly, the top hitter (highest batting average) against Clemens with more than 75 ABs was Tony Phillips who hit .333 against Clemens in his career in 87 ABs. Ken Griffey hit .311, Paul Molitor .308 and Harold Baines .305. George Brett hit .284 against Clemens in his career.
The interviewer was clearly not well informed regarding pitching records. Dozens of pitchers have had more that 18 complete games in a single season. The Oakland A's had three (!) pitchers with 20+ complete games the same season -- 1980. Rick Langford had 28 that year.
True Rocket style. Ask him who his toughest hitters are and in the nicest way possible he basically says outside Reggie Jackson, No one. And when he says Reggie Jackson, that’s from a respectful point of view Jackson was at the end of his career when Rocket came up.
I can't speak for all pro-lifers, but contrary to what she said Catholic pro-lifers at least are not OK with IVF either. From that standpoint, it is not about the woman.
"I know this guy .. he's my friend." Harkens back to something Norm MacDonald said about impersonating someone -- you can't do it if there isn't something about him to which you relate and that you like. Tambor's Hank Kingsley was genius stuff.
