I'm just a normal guy who's interested in learning anything I can about this world we call home, and how it all functions. I enjoy problem solving, experimenting, and trying new things to gain knowledge for me and for others. I paint and construct professionally to Pay the bills. Now trying to start putting cool stuff on RU-vid hopefully learning something in the process. Let me know what u think, and what you'd like to see. A like and or subscribe would be appreciated. Thanks for stopping by.

The cheap Amazon reamer sets actually work quite well and are very affordable.. after 2 or so years I finally took the saddle, cross slide and compound apart and went over everything. Got the saddle to make full contact by gluing strips of sand paper to the ways and going back and forth til I was certain it would sit completely flat on the ways. Then made new clamps from brass to hold it down. Made new gibs for my cross slide and compound from brass. Also did 20TPI lead screws for both. Basically I got tired of chatter and poor finishes from everything fitting poorly. These little 7x,8x,9x import lathes are fantastic tools they just need to be gone over and all the parts fit up. It’s mind blowing how much better they work after dialing them in. So many great vids on YT to learn from on how to do it. Cool stuff thanks for sharing

That looked an awful lot like a regular, turning, facing cut to me. Milling would be sticking a tool in the chuck and the work on the slide.

Ok You're right I agree I'm not good with words. What I should have said was instead of milling I'm using the lathe to turn that face flat. Either way I really appreciate you watching my video and commenting.

There are lots of things that need fixed on those vevor lathes . I power mine with a central machinery 5 speed drill press. I took out the spindle and machined it to fit a pulley. You get the one with 2/5 horsepower motor. Lay the head on it's side. Now I can drill a hole in steel with a half inch drill.

Just bought one today for $10 CAD. Won't get to test it until I find a blade. Was planning on adding a motor as you have.

I'm not sure. I actually sold this saw a while back. But it sounds like the same model numbers. I know they made one of the same size that was motor driven. Is yours black?

Apparently I forgot to add a description. I built this pickup for my acoustic guitar from a paint stick and old power supply transformer. It works great.

Hmm. Do you have the rubber tires on the wheels? Descent blade guides and properly adjusted?
@Jped277
@Jped277 2 года назад
I would assume it's just an alignment issue or overly high blade tension.

I have a black and decker bandsaw that I think is basically the same saw except mine isn't drilled powered it was made with its on motor, I found a link to a posting about the same saw I have but it may still help with the drilled powered saw www.shareyourrepair.com/2015/03/find-blades-for-black-and-decker-model-9422-band-saw.html

@@Jped277 thanks for the info. Do you need a tire for both wheels
@Jped277
@Jped277 5 лет назад
@@javanthomas4122 I remember asking that same question. There is very little info about that saw out there. At first I used black tape on the lower wheel, about 5 layers did really well. I eventually ordered 1 tire for the bottom. It may never have had one on top. If I remember right it has no groove or edge to keep it In place. Although it would be best to have 2. They're not cheap for that saw. You can just measure the width and diameter of the wheel to order one online.
