I can’t believe I just found this! Visor player our Freshers week at Bath Spa Uni in 2002 and their cover of Wuthering Heights became our first year anthem. The 2 free CD’s we had became unplayable due to over usage. The nights spent singing this song at the top of our voice after a drunken night embody everything that was incredible about my first year of uni. It’s been 20 years since I last heard this masterpiece, and hearing it again has literally made my 2024. Thanks for sharing and huge respect and thanks to Visor for this musical genius and the memories ❤
It’s interesting that a lot of the details on the inlay of this album in the Discogs scans are scored out, wonder why that was? Was there a way to potentially see underneath it to see what it could have potentially said? Just curiosity aha!
It says "Contact Blue Mouse Productions Ltd" with an unreadable phone number. There's also a logo with a blue cartoon mouse. I found a 1995 government filing for Blue Mouse Productions based in Milton Keynes. They were the management company of guitarist Shaun Baxter.
@@VwreythThat’s definitely very interesting, so the band were possibly from the Milton Keynes area then? That’s definitely a breakthrough since I’m actually trying to look into this group a bit more, despite one of the members having a very unique name I’ve been unable to actually find anything.
This is rather random, but would you perhaps have any other info about this band? I know you got it from a sound engineer, it was probably released in 1996 and the band were from Yarnton in Oxfordshire, but I’m just a little curious if you know anything else about them, no matter how small the info is 💕 Something about this demo has me coming back to it again and again and I may or may not have made a few mixtapes! @@VwreythFor some reason my reply got deleted, but that’s a shame, at the same time that’s the nature of the beast when it comes to collecting obscure media! Based off me listening to this album multiple times, I’m guessing that a majority of these songs were recorded using a portastudio and whoever recorded these tracks probably didn’t have a TON of studio experience, because those vocals definitely aren’t mixed down the best, they sound a lot quieter than the rest of the instruments in most of the tracks here. Based on the fact that “Just You And I” ends suddenly and happens to be on the end of Side A, I’m guessing that this was probably duplicated from some sort of master cassette? If you also listen closely enough towards the end of most of the tracks there’s a bit of a dip in pitch, I’m guessing that this was probably duplicated with a dodgy unit or duplicated from a dodgy master tape? Just my little analysis lol. I’m also considering maybe trying a few local Oxfordshire music groups to see if anyone potentially remembers the band? Although at the same time I can’t seem to find any record of the band gigging around the Yarnton or surrounding area.
We saw visor at Chepstow castle rock in about 2000 or 2001 really good band just found promo cd they were selling after the show wow still sounds so good ,thought I'd look on utube and found this they were so good live
I have no idea what the fuck this is or how I wound up on this video, but I listened to this whole thing and the music is pretty good. It's not bad. I don't mind it.
Sometimes I have no idea why bands post live songs on their first albums, I'd rather heard the studio version first? I think I'd be better if they put the lives on a separate CD
