Strange priority in a country lacking money to service its population. How people can affort the tickets is mindbogling. But I guees its better than spend it all on bozze.
When the stadium was announced, it was the Palau, meant to be holding events and other sport events, but now it came out that is not that case, as is not enough money.
It is good to build new stadium don’t teak money to anyone all Man U spotter can pay one pound a week we are Man United so we are united all of the world together we can make it
As an American who loves Manchester United and American Baseball (Boston Red Sox), I'll give you a perspective from the Western side of the Atlantic. Fenway Park in Boston seats 45,000 people. It is over 100 years old. It was built when the average size of men was 5 feet 2 inches with and average weight of 125 pounds. Hence, by today's standards, the seats are small, tight fitting and there's no leg room. New England weather is like Scotland - cold, damp, and windy. going to a game is not a very pleasant experience compared to new stadiums such as Yankee Stadium or Busch Stadium in St. Louis or any of the new enclosed stadiums. Yes, there's that romantic notion of preserving Fenway as if it were the Sistine Chapel. It is about as romantic as driving an old Model T Ford. There was a time when the last company to built horse carriages built the best carriages you've ever seen. But would you rather ride in that with no protection from rain, wind and cold, or ride in a Rolls Royce? St. Louis Cardinals built a brand new modern stadium right next to their 100 year old relic, a few years back. The transition went smoothly. MU has as loyal a fan base as the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox. MU could easily fill a new 100 seat stadium. That's a lot more revenue from every game than the current one. And looking into the future, MU DESERVES a newer modern stadium.
Never been to Old Trafford but it's such a landmark in ppl's minds, I quite like the idea of upgrading, over and over again if needs be, rather than moving somewhere else...
Goverment grants. WHY SHOULD WE THE TAX PAYER HAVE TO PAY MAN U, HAVE BEEN RAKING IT IN FOR YEARS, AND PAYING PLAYERS 100, OF THOUSAND OF POUNDS, EVERY WEEK. MOST PEOPLE DONT EARN 100, 000. IN A YEAR. USE THEIR OWN MONEY, NOT OURS, THEY HAVE A CHEEK. AND A BRASS NECK, F, OFF
Much respect to the beautiful memories at Old Trafford, however a New Stadium would be more lucrative, moving forward, & particularly one with a retractable roof this time round..
It would have to be a new stadium. Where would they play if they renovated? I can't imagine City allowing them to play in the Etihad, unless United paid a large amount to do so. The nearest football stadium of decent capacity is the Bolton stadium, there are others but they would be too small. The biggest issue with sharing a stadium is the amount of games that teams play, trying to work both schedules together would be impossible. The other possible option is to use the Old Trafford cricket ground but I'm not sure if that is even possible.
I remember when the New Wembley was being built . It went on to cist 1+ billion - at the sametime a football TV show travelled to Germany as one of the sides had just built a brand-new 40k+ stadium for under 100 million ( could have been under 50 million ) .
If it’s cramped and crumbling patching it won’t cut it’ll need doing again in 10yrs time. Might aswell take the hit now build new. Then they can still play home games at home and simply move into the new one when it’s ready.
Building a brand new stadium will save about a third of the cost of renovating the existing Old Trafford! A new stadium could be build @ todays technologies in record time, I would say max 2 years!
not only where the finances wrong. part of the 1.2 billion debt includes a loan (700m) to build the stadium. barca are not going to be in a 3 billion debt when they renovate the stadium
build new from ground up then re-coup rent out to major invent such as Boxing, music concert, build restaurants , and shops, and England international games
Government assistance? You can bugger off. You waste your own money Ratcliffe the rest of the country isn't paying. I see the Glazers have distanced themselves.
As long as ALL the money is put in by Ratcliffe and his pas and NO money from the government ok, but any party from government putting money into this leader of the Cartel heed a warning. They will be committing suicide even larger than the tories. Manchester United are already holding back the likes of Aston Villa and Newcastle and stopping their owners from investing in their clubs whilst bragging about being the richest club in the world. They in their greed will eventually cripple the cash cow that is the Premier League. Sir Jim is suppossed to have £10bn plus. If he wants a super stadium let him pay for it and NOT the majority of taxpayers from all over the UK who will get no benefit from it. IF the goverment does pay for their new Stadium then they should also pay the same for all other football league clubs to do the same.
Nothing quite as pathetic as a multibillionaire begging with a cup for public money to pay for a stadium that will enrich the ownership group which haven never invested in the club.
change the tracks make them go underground and through the stadium expand the seats +30-50k build higher for a vip stand add a see through glass pool if your going to spend billions on the renovation don't be cheap it's better to overpay and overengineer things than going back to spend even more on repairs and under engineer things. 2-3 billion spent on the stadium isn't a loss it's an investment in the long run the value of the club will instantly almost double because of that. So in the end spend as much as possible make it as big as possible and and amenities that will revolutionize stadiums and keep you ahead in the future don't just add a smart screen around the stadium and call it a day.
this video is interstung enough, of course there is gonna be some info about their financial status and how much they are gonna get from this renovation, cuz it's all about the money. Matter fact, I'd love to see the links of resourses that u used for this video just to get it acquainted in writing
Thank you, I feel it is important to give financial details to back up this kind of upgrade. We have no intention of dissing any club but reveal facts. Most of our resources are local: mundodeportivo, barcelonayellow, etc
