I'm a visual artist and photographer who loves to teach and encourage others to make art from the heart. Make and create what makes you happy. I discovered watercolors later on in my art journey and fell in love. This channel is a combination of beginner tutorials and sharing some projects I enjoyed making that I hope will inspire others to do the same.
**I have always been an artist but recently made a big leap. I left my high level Administration job at a College (of 18 years) and shifted from part time artist to FULL TIME. I am so excited to share that journey with you.
I started doing the Watercolor Journal follow-along in the spring and haven't missed a day. I've learned so much, I enjoy the format and look forward to watching the lessons everyday. I appreciate you!🖌
@@missatombomb1953 oh my gosh! Thank you so much for your support. I’m so glad you enjoy the watercolor journal videos so much. Thank you for watching and for your support.
This is very helpful as started seeing ppl using only the CYM painting and is it just me who feels the CYM is more for printing & sticking to the primaries but do have a magenta for mixing. Also different brands of same color can be so different & then Payne’s grey can lean more blue and neutral tint & some brands don’t work well together. Ty as knowing how to use that color theory & values so important!
Shana, just a question… I am looking into getting the Qor paints you use and I found two sets on Amazon. Is there a difference in quality because one set costs a little more and takes a lot longer to arrive than the other?
That may just be the difference between third part sellers. As long as they re QOR by Golden you should be good. There are differences in some of the palettes because they contain different colors that are more of less expensive to produce. Also, usually if a seller is part of Amazon prime, the product will cost a little more but arrive faster. Reading reviews can also be helpful to make sure folks are satisfied with what they received. I hope that helps.
Thank you! Thank you! I had so much fun with this and have painted a whole page of eyes 😂. Like others I have been intimidated by faces - and eyes in particular.
Respectfully. Is there a reason we have to listen to your swallow sounds and sucking in air? 😮 the gulps are off putting. Thanks. Maybe place the microphone lower??? In every video. Reason why I can’t remain. Do you want me to timestamp?
Thanks for the feedback. No need to time stamp. It’s just quality of my mic. Not much to be done about it. Thanks for watching. Perhaps try muting and just reading sub titles. That may be more enjoyable for you. Happy painting!
I love this angle of fall trees. When I lived in Colorado, I saw this view often with the aspen trees. Beautiful, and I can't wait to try this. Thank you Shana 😊❤
I have no idea why but I am really struggling with knowing just how much water to use in any given project. It is super frustrating. I love watercolor but learning the water control is apparently the hardest part for me. I always have way too much water or not enough!!!
It can be super frustrating but you will get there. My best advice is to start with too much on your brush then dab the end of the brush to a paper towel to pull out as much as feels right. Start painting and if it’s too much, dab again until it’s right. I hope that helps. 😊 keep practicing and you will get it.
@ you are so encouraging!!! Thank you so much!! I will keep on working on it because I am really enjoying it. I have only been doing it for about two weeks so I am trying to be kind to myself.
Thank you so much, Shana!! I love how you make it stress free, and so beautiful at the same time! You give me such inspiration❤ Did your Hydrangeas bloom this year?
Wow! Perfection I love it and green eyes are my favorite they are rare. I might have to watch this video again before I attempt this one. Awesome Shana thanks again. 😊❤
