The two full cartridges are probably .30-06 from the Garand, as well as the three rifle bullets. The handgun bullet is most certainly .45ACP. The larger silver one is possibly 8mm Mauser from the German K98. The buttons in the cannister probably aren't war-time carry. Soldiers were issued a sewing kit with four colors of thread (white, black, khaki, OD) and some spare buttons for their uniforms in a small OD pouch.
I’ve carried the same Gerber automatic knife since issued to me on my first tour in Iraq in 05. I was carrying a fixed Benchmade I was issued there in 06 but it was stolen. I’m looking to get a smaller edc fixed blade but there’s so many on the market it’s hard to find what’s worth getting.
For fixed blades, I have ESEE Izula, 4, and 5. Also have a kbar and some bayonets. I go back and forth on bugout, pm2, and ESEE Izula. Bigger stuff for bigger jobs as needed.
I have an Esee Izula in S35VN and I LOVE that knife. It stays clipped on to my every day backpack and it’s everything I’d probably want in a fixed blade
You should study up on ESEE as a survival school and the Rowan heat treat done in Idaho. I own two of their knives. One is the Izula model just a little bigger than the Candiru.
Hello from St. Louis! Sorry to miss the live stream (again) but so glad I was able to watch later. Thank you for sharing how your dad inspired your EDC journey. My dad passed away a few years ago, and I'm finally getting his watch fixed and restored, and I carry a small knife like he always did. I haven't been able to attend a Blade Show yet and I also couldn't make it to Salt Lake this weekend. I'm planning on Atlanta next June and hope to see you there. Thank you for sharing your EDC journey. 👍🙏🔪
Haha what! That’s great. Yes I haven’t been able to get them in anywhere and right now they are my silver storage. I still have an extended plan to get that organizer for that toolbox you told me about!
I have the ESEE Candiru and love it. I took a dremel to the sheath and made it more user friendly. It is great now. I keep one on my daypack's should strap. Awesome little knife.
I love the bugout I bought 2 of them i liked it soo much I have a khaki handle with a plain s30v blade and an all black one that also has the s30v blade as for other bemchmade knives I own there's the full immunity mine has g10 scales with metal liners and its on bearings instead of the washers it's got the best action also I have a mini claymore green injection molded handle scales with the metal liners in inlayed also its got the tanto blade and I put a bigger deep carry pocket clip on it cause the smaller one diddnt look right to me it's one of my favorites I wana get the original full size one in black
I have the Satin Ultementum as my edc but I don’t like the pocket clip, seriously considering getting one of these just to steal the clip and put it on my Elementum that way I can have a smaller black clip on it because it appears that they would interchange, and I’ll probably put the mini praxis to the side as a spare or maybe I’ll gift it to someone after I switch out the clips…😁
