SG&G is a personal channel where I play various #games and occasionally try to make them. I play a lot of different games mainly enjoy solo #survival, #RPGs, and #ARPGs, but I play other games too. I also discover new games, #indie games as I go along and take game requests.
I eventually try to make my own game too, but that's in the far far future. For the moment, I'll make videos about 3D asset creation in #Blender, Substance, and Unreal Engine. I consider myself a beginner, so don't judge much. :-)
I almost forgot how complex these management games can become. It fits the game since there's a lot to learn about it, but regardless, it's for those who enjoy these type of games.. Others might find it boring.
Thanks, mate. :D It's an interesting game, but it takes a while to understand every aspect. Tutorial will take 2 more videos, but after that I jump in. I have 8 videos recorded.. In one I burn the whole ship down.. Stay tuned.
You are right. The option was right there.. I was just not ready to settle yet. I'm was a young adventurer, just arrived to a strange land.. I leave romance for later when I know the denizens of the city. Or maybe I find a damsel in distress somwhere.. We'll see in the full game.
Thank you for checking it Azrhyga. There are a lot of things this game is doing right, art consistency, immersion, good looking UI etc. Worth checking out.
Thanks, mate. I was thinking about playing it more, it's out in early access now, but one thing you probably noticed from the video is that this game take a lot of time to progress. Interesting, it has some good mechanics, but a lot of things are slow (as it's usually the case with management games.) It's a strange mix of tribe management and survival.
I apprechiate it. Thank you. I'll start putting content there soon-ish. I was mostly planning to put 3D modelling there, but if you have a topic in mind, let me know, and I try to make a video of it, if I actually know how to do it. :D
I try to, but it's very hard to do. My latest project is to make a valheim-like game in unreal engine. I bought the Easy Survival Systems for the mechanics, and now I'm the process of making new assets for that. Unfortuantelly I'm a bit low on funds.. I wanted to buy Voxel Plugin and a traning for it, but that would cost ~400 gbp which I don't yet have. Once I have that I can start working on a voxel based "pirate valheim". I do have a new sub-channel that I want to migrate all game making content over to. This channel is mostly for gaming nowadays. In short: Yes (ish) :D
Great to see you checking it. It's not the usual type of game that I play, but I really liked the ideas in there. As I explained in the video, when Istarted thinking about game ideas year ago, one of my ideas was to make a game where you play as a sort of wizard that is using wands and staffs as weapons. I was glad to see someone else had a similar idea and made a game out of it. And it's actually good.
Very good video!! The first companion have a very good design for me, also it class can be not useful for now, but in the future with a lot of buildings will be surely helpful
I liked that the AI looks around the base and if there are sticks and others it needs, it gathers automatically. There are flags that I haven't gone into much, but I think you can put a flag down for harvest and they even cut wood automatically..
There are some gameplay elenets that I find strange, but there are parts that I like. Multi-stage building is interesting, but slow for example. It's a game you'd play if you have hours.
Yes, I was worried how that would be solved, but overall nice and they put some good thoughts in it. By the way, this is, although a unique implementation, comes from (eastern) european / slavic folklore.
It's nice to see more and more game developers starting to draw inspiration from Slavic culture, especially our rich mythology. I am of course referring to the period before the christian occupation.
Yes this game is full of that.. They even reference what you say in the game with "new religions" spreading in the region, and they say more "civilized" people believe in them .. :D
Good video!! Very good job making it!! Finally after controlling the parry mechanic you can make start making progress in the game Also looks like the demo without counting some issues it was a great one!! The developers did a great job!!
Thank you for checking it, Azrhyga! Indeed they did a good job with it. As with gamedev usually, it takes some changes and iterations before everything will be final, but it's great to see it evolve.
@SolearGnG my replies don't seem to be sending for some reason, test, does this send? Edit: okay it did. Do you see either of my replies to your reply to me being your 500th subscriber? I sent 2 but they're not showing up for me, idk what's going on.
Yes I did and I replied to it also. RU-vid might be crap sometimes. I also suggested you that if you add me on stream, I'll give you a game from your wishlist! :D Add me on Twatter if you have that, we can PM there more quickly than comments here.
I saw it in a recent video about him that I've watched before playing this (mainly because I had no idea how to pronounce his name).🙂 Here it is: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qf0OWpzWKUQ.html And there's also this article: toiletovhell.com/beksinski-and-heavy-metal-a-surreal-love-story/ Why though? You don't think it infuenced album arts?
Oh I seem to be your 500th subscriber! Congrats on the milestone! I saw you at 499 and felt you deserved 500, being the only person apparently to make a mostly up-to-date video guide on modding Space Engineers, and so far I'm finding it very useful. Thanks for making the video!
Oh yeah! Thanks very much! Add me on stream (solear1) and I give you a game from your wishlist . 😁 Regarding the lack of tutorials: Yes I noticed it also. There are plenty of things I don't know about it, this is only the basics, not even unctionalities. SE is a 10+ year old game, I'm not surprised that tutorials are outdated or missing entirely. Luckily Keen recognized this, and the next space engineers will focus in easy modding. That doesn't really help current SE though. Best way to gain knowledge is to talk with people who you saw they posted mods recently. Some even have their own discord like the Planet modding discord: discord.gg/FQJ86skJKY they explain how to add planets there, but it's a PAIN :D When I rased the issue with how freaking hard modding SE is to Marek he said "* shrug * modding is basically gamedev, and gamedev is hard." Which is hard, but SE modding is like 3x harder then modding an Unreal game for example. They have their own tools, their own process pipeline, and they have little to no tutorial on it on the outside. If you dig deep, you can usually find a guy, but I understand the srtuggle.
@@SolearGnG (idk what happened to my last reply so I'm sending it again) Really!? Thank you man!! Assuming you mean "Steam", I searched "solear1" and didn't find anyone. My username is "Star_Kindler" if you can find me. And yeah, I thought you would just be able to make a model, texture it, then put it into a mod file, edit some .sbc files and be done. I appear to have been very wrong. ☹Luckily though, I have a couple friends trying to figure it out with me, although they have even less modding experience than I do. And we all should have a decent bit of free time for the next month or two, so hopefully we'll be able to figure this out.
All right so what I found is that the texture packing tool is part of the SE Mod SDK. You can get some info here: www.spaceengineersgame.com/modding-guides/modding/ It's basically in the stream tools library. You install that, and the texture packing tool will be in there. Message me on twatter if you stuck at some point and I can help.
Very good video!! Looks like you started to control better the parry mechanic, so it looks like the next video will be more fluent, but it was great to see how you were learning to use the parry
Don't go far, there's 1 more video coming, when I actually finish the game. It will be glorious, since in that one I actually understand the parry mechanic. That will go significantly better.
Thanks, yeah, it's really interesting. I rarely play side scroillers, but this was a good choice for one. Also a big thing that the developers listen to feedback and they add more things to this.
Thanks Azrhyga! This game has some really interesting concepts in it, especially around the death, rebirth, and penalty mechanics. I'm happy that you like it. 2 more videos are coming of this game, as I play the demo through entirely.
We are very happy that you played our game. Thanks to your feedback, we have provided a more detailed explanation of the parry mechanic and fixed some minor bugs. Receiving feedback from players like you is incredibly helpful for improving the game. We are very grateful for this. ❤🧡💙
It's a good game alltogether with some very good ideas. I especially liked the system of gaining strength and loosing it when you die / get tortured. That was an interesting mechanic. There are some bugs, but overall the game run very well.. UI needs improvements, I've sent you more feedback on that via discord. Overall good job! 😁
This is a massive work done by you! So dense, so structured and well-paced. I was looking where to start with and all I was able to to find, where either 15-minutes overviews or some hands-on tutorials on just a one person's creation process. Your vid however outlines so many options for newbies like me. Thank you!
Thanks very much! And, I was exactly in the same shoes when I started learning 3D modelling. The reason why I wanted to make a video like this was because I always wanted to see the differences and output between various methods. When you start out it's very hard to judge what you should go for, and understand why certain games use a certain type of trees. I know the trees I made here are a bit.. on the ugly side, but it makes me super happy that you saw through it and found value in the video! 😁 If you stuck at some point of have a question, send me a message on twatter, and I'll reply and try to help!
I'm currently on break from this waiting for more patches. I have a few more videos to process.. Hopefully by the time I finish with those, the game will be in a less buggy state. So don't be sad for waiting for it - it will only get better with time. Also, check out Necrophosis Demo on steam!
Thanks Azrhyga! I slowly start recording new content for the channel so it won't be just this in the future, but new and interesting games. Stay tuned! 🙂
Indeed. It was a bit.. convenient though.. We needed a place to move the magistrate to, and boom, we found just what he wanted, exactly.. I know it was just a story, and they actually made another story around how you find the library, but still for some reason it came across as convenient story writing - might be something to note for gamedev. It's not a problem when the solution is provided in a quest, but it needs to be written in a way that sounds not like a convenience. In this case, I think it would be better if we won't just find an abandoned library, but perhaps the magistrate mentions it, that he read it somwhere that in the slums area lies the ruins of the "old city" and before his inprisonment, he was looking for that library. That would tie it better into the magistrate, give more reason to go there, and wouldn't have felt like we found the exact solution to what we needed immediately and independently from the magistrate..
@@SolearGnG And yes, that is true too, it was a bit convenient When doing a mission on a game the solution has to not be convenient, instead hide it with some story or making some steps before you find it
It's a really enjoyable game. I didn't get to the end of it yet (I have like 4-5 more episodes recorded). I hope the next time I'm recording more some of these bugs have already been patched out. It was especially funny at the end when the boy's mother came down just to slap the bejeezus out of me.. AI in this game is weird as heck..
