I agree with breaking up with Leo at the end and moving forward from that toxic relationship, but the only thing I didn't like is that Chase ended up with Kudzu. Like wtf?? That took me off guard and felt a bit weird. I always saw Kud as a strong and supportive ally for Chase, but never thought they could develop feelings for each other
I feel you guys I would also have loved if there was an option for an actual Happy Ending to stay with him and end up together, but that is because I (the player) love him, however I am not me here, I'm Chase, that ex who doesn't actually love you but also doesn't want you to move on. That's why there is no "Yes I love you" option, just 2 options: - Being honest about his feelings and dump him or - Keep being vague to manipulate Leo so he basically receive a "its not a no, but also it's not a yes" as an answer in order for Chase to avoid any consequences, just like he usually does. Being honest the "Good ending" is actually good, as we allow Leo to end this painful cycle he was on, it's just... not a Happy Ending, that's why we don't feel it was "good".
If you're talking about who flung the car into the lake, I believe that was still the socket man; in Flynn's route someone (I can't remember who) says that maybe he sent them into the lake on purpose. It would make sense, since that's where Sydney died, and searching for how he died was the whole reason why Flynn became the socket man in the first place - though I'm not sure he was really thinking at that point, perhaps he thought it would somehow reveal information about Sydney to the rest of the group, or something like that.
I'm pretty sure it's just way later on for Flynn, when he becomes way more stretched out and gross. In this we only see around the beginning of his time as the socket man. Pretty sure anyway
Basically Leo pulled chase off the train, chase got caught under and had his legs ripped off, and chase is basically slowly bleeding out while Leo is stuck in his own delusion that things will work out, seemingly unaware he killed chase.
I think, just a theory it might depend on one choice. At some point there's a choice where you have some dream and all that's written is about dagger, blood, pain and Amicus asking you not to leave. After dream monitor asks you if you want to avoid this or not
IM GONNA CRY I- WHY COULDN'T THEY HAVE BEEN HAPPY TOGETHER IN THE END AGAIN HHHHH I KNOW LEOS GOT ISSUES AND THE WHOLE EVENTS HAPPEN BUT- HHHHH- THEIR SO WONDERFUL TOGETHER-
*now I know why the ending was so devastating for my friend... "There Are moments when the words don't reach, There is suffering too terrible to name"*
and then they spend more time with their friends and leave the town and become a happy couple together and there is absolutely nothing bad going on!!! :)
After playing through all the routes, this really does seem like the conclusive end, considering the Socket Man apparently is destroyed through Jenna forgiving Heather and in a way the town itself. It's true that the actions taken as children do not need to define one as an adult. These actions are probably what leads to the Socket Man finally vanishing, it appears thinking this will be another tragic footnote in Echo's history, its only through Jenna's epiphany that the Socket Man finally finds a form of rest after all the horrible stuff it's been through and the friend group in this timeline getting to go on and live their lives with a new resolve unburdened by the evils and guilt they've dealt to others, even if everything isn't fully resolved it's still the best they'll get. (Keeping SM's true identity vague in case someone hasn't found out yet.)
Srsly, played this one as the last route yesterday and my heart broke. Playing this one as the last one feels like a bittersweet goodbye to Echo, and it really made me sad.
I can see this as world 1 ending, where every other ending is the branches; alternate ending. It's because in every other route Socket man still exist while Flynn never become a Socket man which imply Socket man can jump into another alternate ending from Flynn's route
@@normalcat7296 Yeah true. I can sorta see that. [SPOILER AHEAD] I played Arches a bit though and that plays off of Flynn's ending. Makes me feel sad and a bit sick. Flynn sorta not being 100% socket man is cool though, however he sorta does embody it partially. Shit is weird.
@@fluffthesergal7640What points Arches to be after Flynn's route specifically? A friend of mine played it and said the events (Clint's status specifically) didn't seem to line up with any endings but I don't remember the details
I've always found this scene's CG to be the most beautiful in the game. From an artistic standpoint, it is absolutely gorgeous! From a narrative standpoint, it's absolute genius! It shows an otherwise pleasant nature scene of the beautiful (yet tainted) grove and the two childhood best friends. Obviously the scene is amiss with TJ's look of shock, disbelief, and mild disgust; Chase's complete dislocation from reality and lack of care. TJ is in shadow, Chase in sun. A nod to the fact that Echo has devoted its energy and attention onto the friend group, with TJ as the nexus of its wrath and Chase its instrument. Thus Chase is the star of the show and TJ firmly cloaked in Echo's ancient iniquity. This also may be reading in too much, but due to _Echo's_ motif of focusing on eyes, we are being signaled that the story is escalating and that we are passing the point of no return. Chase's eyes shut in bliss and TJ's open wide in a deep shuttering of his self, a darkness overcoming him that he is neither prepared for or capable of handling. The dark overarching shadow cutting off the light at his muzzle, representing the event horizon he has unwillingly crossed.
I chose the "We'll work something out" option but immediately my gut feeling told me to rejoin the game and choose the other option and I'm so glad I did, because I didn't want chase to be with leo. Also it seemed to prevent me from seeing some fucked up things in my own playthrough. I don't even know the reason why I went for the second choice at first because leo's route made me fear him a lot.
