Go down to afan forest (glyncorrwg end) about 30 mins drive from BPW there are some real rocky and rooty trails there that make this look tame! And its free!
@@dpmtb2020no worries mate, I trimmed 800 down to 780 for same reason for my local woods, somehow that tiny amount stopped me catching my bars and still plenty stable!
Road here a last week as its my local. Ive lost a lot of confidence after a couple of crashes recently but its a great little spot for building confidence and progressing. Might see you down there some time 👍
Definitely come say hi if you see me around, this place is closest to where I am so will be visiting regularly, It is indeed a great learning spot, I will be there today, with hopes it’s still rides ok after all the rain 🤘🤘
Went there on the 30th Dec for the first time after what seems to have been a lot of rain as conditions were much muddier than on your video. Really enjoyed the runs that we did and am looking forward to visiting again one day. It's a great facility.
It is indeed a wonderful learning facility, although it does get very boggy in places, I took kids there a couple days later and it was much wetter, we will be visiting it regularly now as it is the closest place to us.
Thanks, I haven’t really shared exact locations, It would make no difference anyway, the place is too exposed on RU-vid , google and Strava already, I think I been reasonably discreet about it
A 29er hardtail Voodoo Bizango with upgraded kit including larger tyres, maybe as it needs to really roll over stuff. But if it's nearly all downhill I'd be happy running my old Ibis 26 carbon fibre 26er or 27.5/26 mullet, as it would eat that up with a spoon.
he makes a valid point, hardtail plus jank equals reduced control, increased fatigue and overall less enjoyment. I’d rather adjust a shock than fix a flat.
@@caseyrimdinger3220 true but my riding is pretty smooth, even on a hard tail, my partner also rides, but she can't hope to keep up as she can't go as fast past the tree roots and rocks. Plus I'm part of the 'If you go quick down the hill you'll be halfway up the next before you even need to think of pedalling, school'
I've seen so many videos of this and this is the worst of the conditions I've seen. Handled the madness well 👍 How did you get on in the overall results?
Another good ride for you that one looks as tho it might have been a faster stage if it wasn't so wet . I find sometimes on motorbike that the middle of the running bits are actually firmer and hold you on line a litttle better I keep the ebike out of water as much as possible tho. I've never ridden the emtb in those conditions
Great video, showing the fantastic two day's riding both me you and Steve had and Sunday with Heath with us. You and Steve are great company and riding with you both has helped get me a bit of confidence back after Injury , the GoPro really doesn't portray how harsh a two days steep and often teccy climbing you both did on normal mountain bikes as Steve described i think it was day one " a brutal mountain bike ride " . The bits you filmed without stabilisation show how rough some sections were and hopefully I was close enough behind you that if someone watches your vid and mine they can see some of the bits where we were both nearly in the bushes. You're both welcome up here again , In the meantime ride safe
