I wish they would make a slightly bigger version of these, with proper woofers, 8" or something. As they are, they're great sounding but seriously lack bass depth.
I own the smaller brother f500sp. They have the same drivers, same extension, same crossover. All the components are exactly the same except for the cabinet being slightly bigger. Are they really worth three times the price?
Thanks for the review Sir, quick question..will these speaker work with low level (8 watt)single ended tube amplifiers, considering i dont need to crank the volume and got a small room 3.5×2.5 meters?
Joy. Pure joy. :) I enjoyed that fact that you loved this speaker. Makes me want a pair. Now! Will have to subscribe. My first time to watch you. Its been fun.
It’s a 6k$ amp that does not have its own app. The user interface is of a third world grade. The ease connectivity is horrible . If you can look past that the sound quality is unmatched. Otherwise the amp its of is well built but unsightly. I took mine back coz I could not stand the user interface. The remote itself will freeze and be unresponsive for no reason.
Please please advise, what speaker stands are you using? Also can the speakers be screwed into the stands so they can't be accidentally pushed off? Love your channel!!
@jamieboyd5208 hi the speaker stands that I used for the video are the solid steel ss6 that do not attach or screw into the speaker , but the fyne audio official stands do srew together
I'm planning a group-audition trip to Bangkok later this year and this is a candidate. Thing is, the reactions in the review space are all over the map, so I'd welcome any customized reactions based on my own use-case, as follows: Low to extremely low volume Piano jazz trios and quartets Poured concrete room, 360cm w x 600cm d Placement 90cm from each side wall and the front wall (not very changeable) Lots of off-axis, companionable listening. I'm not a sit-stone-statue-still-and-concentrate audiophile. Budget = anything up to $2600 USD, though other candidates are all over the place Amplification = upgradable as needed (currently an SMSL AO-300, which is too small for these, I think). Is this a good choice, or is there another offering from Fyne Audio that's a better fit?
hello. currently I play on hegel h390 and revival audio atalante 5 + stands. speaker cable is naim nac a5 (4m), power cable tellurium black 2 (2.5m) I wonder if if I changed my speakers to kef r3 meta, would such a set play better. After recording you can hear that there is bass despite small speakers and the rest of the range plays lively. apparently kef and hegel are a good combination. And how is it live?
Hi I have these since 2022. True to what you said about them yes. I had the opportunity to use them from an entry level SMSL amp/DAC to SMSL D9 amp and Topping A90 as preamp. That jump in the amp made a big difference to its sound. And currently I upgraded to Topping PA7 with Topping A90 as preamp and SMSL DO200 DAC. That jump makes a significant sound improvements, really. The speakers now sounds more dynamic and the separation of instruments are even evident. Thanks for your review about them.
thanks for the answer, so should I add some money and buy a studio 89 audio monitor? My amplifier is a hegel h390 with a tellurium q black 2 cable. The speaker cable is a naim nac a5 4m. The current speakers are revival audio atalante 5 on original stands. I like the look of the kef more, but if the studio 89 is supposed to play better, I will have to find a seller somewhere who has both kef and studio 89.
how would the Icon Audio Stereo 60 mk4 be for my spendor S100 or Tannoy Berkeley speakers...i think it has 2 x 80 watts UL or 2 x 50 in triode....I'm using a klimax kontrol pre amp and Yamaha m2 amp now...what do you think❓
If you can't find the stylus guard for the cartridge you're taking off the arm I find it's less stressful if you remove the stylus from the cartridge body first, provided of course that you have a cartridge with a removable stylus.
Hi, looking for speakers this size/dimensions/weight/BR placement to put on the shelf. So far everything has been bigger, rear-ported or way too heavy:/
Hi, Can I use these in a room that measures 19.5ft long x 11.5ft wide x 10-14ft high and would these Studio 89 need a subwoofer or two? Thanks in advance.
Funny enough I was in Leicester on Wednesday but wife was with me. If I bought her along she would be born in 10 seconds flat. I do like the bob Dylan song
