Glock obviously!! has been the leading producer of pistols for many years. However!! Glock has the worst OEM triggers on the market. I think they were intentionally engineered that way for the LE agencies and the military to hopefully eliminate accidental discharges. Personally, in my opinion, my Ruger Security 380 blows the G25 away in all categories and primarily the Ruger OEM trigger couldn't be better.

That’s a great question. I’ll have to contact walther about this. But, as always, I always say never trust a man maid part. They can always fell. That’s why I always treat a firearm as locked, loaded and ready. It could go off at anytime, even with it a “safety” in place.

I just left Diamond back about 3weeks ago. I was a quality technician, and I have nothing but good things to say about the quality of their firearms. Diamondback machines their own lowers, barrels, hand-guards and flash hiders. When I resigned they had just machined their first upper. By now the uppers may be in full production. Diamondback is meticulously machining parts for their new SDR .357 revolver. It is a fine firearm. I shot the prototype and it was sweet. As you can tell I didn’t leave because I was unhappy. You ought to demo their new Obsidian model. I love that one. Great guns, great prices and a great company. Great video too.

They aren’t “starting to show up because they were released to us”. It is still illegal to import the G25 and G28. The tooling was sent to the US, X number of each model (G25 & G28) were made in the US, then the tooling was sent back to Austria.
@BrunswickFirearmsReviews

The Glock 25 was introduced in 1995, but due to the “sporting purposes” clause in the 1968 Gun Control Act, it was banned from import to the United States. The ban was lifted in 2004, but Glock was not interested in the.380 market then, as there was little interest in the caliber. Instead of importing them, TALO Distributors has now struck a deal with Glock to produce the G25 in Smyrna, GA.

Just got mine. Yeah the spring is tight, leaving the gun open overnight helped a bit I feel. The ramp is also further polished at the bottom of it (than previous iterations in order to avoid some HP issues). I have tried to replicate the out of battery issue by racking the slide at different speeds, etc. and can’t replicate it. The mags do stick to the grip unless you loosen your grip, which is not a natural thing to do. But that’s not a deal breaker for me, as this isn’t a competition gun. As far as the holster goes. The polymer quality of it is good. I don’t like that it doesn’t have a sweat guard. But it works well though I am using a hand made leather holster for it currently (comfort). If I get an optic, I might have to resort to the factory holster until I order a custom made one. Other than that, the gun is as well built as my polymer Sigs and my Glocks.

@@BrunswickFirearmsReviews Thanks. Small update: ran a few mags of Federal 124 gr HST of both regular and plus P variety. The gun cycles them flawlessly (this was my biggest concern given the early models having issues), as I stated the ramp no longer has that bulky edge at the bottom, and it seems to be polished out from factory. I have no complaints so far. The gun is hefty for its thin diameter, it is closer to a Glock 19 in weight than it is to a Glock 43x. But I feel that it helps immensely with recoil mitigation. This is a much softer shooting gun than the P365.

I'm kind of wondering how much you know about Glock pistols because of this is the same as the G19 the 23 the 32 with the exception of caliber they all have a 5 and 1/2 lb connector.
@BrunswickFirearmsReviews
@BrunswickFirearmsReviews 6 месяцев назад
The 5 1/2 lb is the standard for most Glocks. Here is a list of Glock factory connectors with pounds and how they are marked. One reason for the different pounds for connectors is because of different laws for trigger pound in different states. Glock Factory Connectors 4.5 lb. The 4.5 lb connector is marked with a (-)" located at the top of the piece. Most GLOCK pistols are fitted at the factory with 5.5 lb Trigger Pull. This "minus" connector is a Glock factory part designed to reduce trigger pull to 4.5lbs. 5.5 lb. This is the standard factory trigger pull as most GLOCK pistols are fitted at the factory with 5.5 lb Trigger Pull. Glock research finds that this trigger weight is optimally matched to the needs of most users. 5.5 lb. The 5.5 lb version is exclusively for the Glock 42/43/43X/48. It will not fit other Glock trigger blocks. 8 lb. The 8.0 lb connector is marked with a (+). This is the connector for users appreciating hard "dry" trigger action. It is also characterized by a clearly sensible point of depression.

Glad you mentioned that slide tension. Few people do. I picked up mine on Saturday at the gun show. My thoughts the first time I pulled that slide back were, *_"DAMN!"_* It's my believe that Canik switched to a stiffer recoil spring to address the "return to battery" issue many people were having. It's pretty amazing the amount of accessories that comes in the case. All handy stuff, but the holster is not too impressive. I doubt many people use it. I won't be. The holster's a nice touch but I'd rather they left it out and either dropped the price $10-$20 or better yet added a third magazine. You, I and everyone else agrees that the grip stippling should have gone higher, but maybe a bit of grip tape could resolve that. Apparently, a white dot front sight with blackout rear sights is currently vogue, but I don't care for it so I ordered some Night Fision sights. ($108 on the Night Fision site, but I found coupon code BDAY20 to get 20% off. UPS shipping only $5. Didn't charge sales tax. ??? Total cost only $91.40.) I like how easy the gun is to disassemble/reassemble. A tad easier than a Glock and much easier than a 1911. I don't plan on adding an optic or a light, but I like having the option. I really like the trigger. Initial pull is a little long, but not much mush and the reset is phenomenal. I like 4.5 pounds and think I might get uncomfortable with a pull that was much lower. You echoed another one of my thoughts regarding the trigger guard. I would like it if it were just slightly bigger. (Like the stiff slide, no one seems to ever mention the trigger guard.) I like the striations in front of the trigger guard though. It gives good purchase for the finger of your support hand. I don't think you mentioned the "one in the chamber" indicator on top of the slide - or maybe I missed it. The only thing I don't care for on the gun, (not counting the sights that I'm replacing), is the mag well. I feel the walls are kind of thin. Too much pressure holding the grip and the mag doesn't drop out when you press the release. I just consider that a learning curve though. Loosen your grip a bit when dropping a mag. Maybe thin walls were necessary to keep the width of the gun down and still have a double stack mag and be able to use any other Canik mag. I've been researching and craving this gun for a couple of months, but have been unable to find it locally and didn't want to jack up the cost with shipping and FFL fees. The gun show showed up at just the right time. I think this is one of the best, if not the best, unboxing reviews of the mc9 I've seen. Great job!

@BrunswickFirearmsReviews

I always recommend someone to handle a firearm to make sure it is comfortable in their hand before they buy one. What fits in my hand may not fit your hand as comfortable as it does mine. With that being said, the Ruger Security 380 is easy to operate with the Lite Rack system. So, if you are asking this question because she has a hard time racking a firearm as a lot of middle-aged females have as well as older gentlemen, especially if they have arthritis, then yes, I would recommend this firearm if it feels comfortable to them in their hand. @BrunswickFirearmsReviews
@BrunswickFirearmsReviews 8 месяцев назад
Here’s an answer I’ve got for you that I found over my 15 years in the gun business that hopefully will help you… Dry fire damages your gun or not depends on the type of gun. I’ve broken them into three broad categories: Rimfire guns…With this type of gun, the firing pin is positioned to strike the brass rim of the cartridge. Brass is a softer metal than steel. When dry firing a rimfire gun, the firing pin will strike the much harder steel of the breech face, transferring a tremendous amount of force. The firing pin may escape damage if you dry fire infrequently (or it may not), but it's proven that excessive dry firing of rimfire weapons will "peen" the firing pin. Peening is the formation of a dent, or a micro-space, where the firing pin strikes the chamber mouth. A frequently dry fired rimfire gun is prone to malfunction and misfire. The last thing you want is for your weapon to be unreliable when your safety could depend on it. Centerfire guns…Dry firing most centerfire rifles and handguns is generally safe. There are a few exceptions, like older pistols, with the key being the durability of the firing pin. When dry fired, the firing pin on centerfire rifles and some semiautomatic weapons travels until it hits the end of the channel. This over-traveling can cause the pin to hit the frame with tremendous force, causing damage to the striker. If the firing pin is brittle, it's just a matter of time before it breaks. The firing pins on some older centerfire pistols are softer than their modern counterparts and prone to break or peen after just a few dozen dry firings. Generally speaking, centerfire guns are safer to dry fire than rimfire weapons, but each gun has its own nuances that vary from model to model. Modern firearms…Most would agree that dry firing a modern gun is not much of a problem. Modern guns are made of better materials: improvements in metallurgy, design and technology mean components have become more robust and longer-lasting. This means you can pull the trigger and dry fire modern guns with more confidence than older firearms. A modern gun may withstand more instances of dry fire but I wouldn’t take the chance. The bigger question is why take that chance? Firearms were designed to be fired with a round in the chamber, so every time you dry fire you are taking a risk. That’s why I use and recommend using snap caps.
@Woodstock271
@Woodstock271 8 месяцев назад
Excellent explanation of dry firing issues. I’m 60 years old and was taught as a kid, to never dry fire any weapon. Especially rimfire, but there’s no reason to dry fire even pistols that say it’s okay with. Dry firing without snap caps is just a stupid thing to do and bad habit to get in. I’ve bought a bunch of pistols through the decades and recently heard that some are okay to dry fire. I just laugh and refuse to do it anyway. Of the center fire pistols I bought recently at a gun store, one was “okay to dry fire”. Nope, I’m using snap caps every time because I’ll never remember which pistol they said was okay. And no reason to remember, since I don’t believe that a firing pin or striker that’s meant to stop on soft brass, will be fine allowed to slam over-traveled into nothing. Something softer has to stop it in the chamber or whatever stops it in the mechanism is going to take that shock. Snap caps every time saves the worry. Great review of the Security 380. I’ve been eyeing that one since it first came out. Kinda hoping Ruger would make an optics ready version, even though a .380 that size would already be really accurate. It’s my eyes are getting worse and I’m really hooked on the dots.
@BrunswickFirearmsReviews
@BrunswickFirearmsReviews 8 месяцев назад
I agree. Even though some say are safe, I prefer to use snap caps. Especially after seeing firearms that come through the gunsmith department replacing firing pins. Most of which are new gun owners that sit at home practicing racking their guns and dry firing them without using snap caps. So I would have to say I think dry firing a firearm over and over can not be good for them. With that being said, we have not seen any security 380s come in to have the firing pins replaced.

That has changed. I worked for Diamondback for 2.5 years as a quality technician. They have new management in their CNC shop and their QA manager is great. They now work together with engineering to make the best guns for the best price. Their times of problem pistols is past.

Went to my local gun-shop to look at the Ruger 380. The broker actually tried to talk me out of seeing it saying he doesn’t recommend it. Found that strange being he is a Ruger dealer.

That is strange. We have sold about 20 of them over the last few weeks and everyone seems to love them. Like I said in the video, the only thing I have seen that you need to be aware of is that the magazine sometimes has the follower tilted down on the backside, but it is an easy fix by just pressing down slightly on the front side of it. And the only other thing is the speed loader that comes with it doesn't work that well since the bullet sets forward in the magazine causing a gap behind the bullet. Other than those two things, people seem to love them.
