Hey man, I ran an icon AAL for 4 years in my 1st Gen Tacoma. I just installed one on my 2023. Have you had any drive line issues or CV angles off since the lift ? I saw your other video with the spacer added, but was that solely precautionary? Thanks in advance, glad I didn’t get the block from the trd lift kit. Got the fox kit shock surplus and icon is next to me in riverside so got the leaf there. Also, do you have measurements from fender to hub ? Mine are 22” front 23” rear with the aal

Hello! I have 65 k 2019 sr 4x4 Thanks the video! I did one drain and fill but mine got slightly worse shudder wise. 1 to 2 shift is also kinda hard. So I’m thinking about doing more flushes. My question is on the the flushing procedure you described. There’s several other videos on it on RU-vid and most go through the connecting certain pins together with a wire in the odb port and putting the transmission in a “self flushing mode” when done correctly it expels excess fluid out of the overfill. Your mechanic did not tell you to do that? Just wondering based on the description of the procedure in the video thanks!
@westcoasttaco
@westcoasttaco День назад
@@RUGBYmusic hope your shudder goes away soon! So what he did was pump the fluid into the transmission until fluid came out of the overfill drain. Once it slowed and came to a dribble he tightened the plugs. You could also try adding a bottle of the line guard shudder fix platinum. A lot of guys have had success with that as well. Would also strongly recommend the tune. It’s a game changer.

You had me till you broke out the channel locks to take off the oil filter canister. They make a tool for that housing. They don't break under normal oil changing procedures. They break because knuckle dragging fools like you use channel locks, then a HAMMER AND CHISEL on them. You didn't even remove the lower drain plug before removing the canister! What a complete dope!!! I wouldn't take a moped to this guy for service. Then he goes on to say brake fluid is "hydrophibic". No simpleton, it's hygroscopic.

The dash is not all plastic it's 90% soft touch materials very high quality like an expensive luxury car the seats are very comfortable you can open your window all the way and put your hand on the window and it is soft not the hard plastic that the taco has the fit and finish on the new Taco just feels cheap quality and garbage and now that's why the transmission is starting to go is it cut corners on everything about this truck, I took a 2024 model sport for a ride I actually like the 23 model better feels like a more solid truck not as much cheap plastic neither but the Ridgeline it's on in a league of its own when it comes to Quality this thing is nice and it rides nice edit highest power do you want to press the gas you're gone people just need to try it out and give it a chance once they do they won't look at anything else !!!!

Long time Toyota owner of multiple vehicles, and current 4th gen Tacoma owner, turbo v6 recall doesn’t scare me. Toyota will get to the bottom of it. Dealers will start taking these trucks on trade once Toyota announces an official fix for the recall, right now a dealership can’t legally sell a vehicle with an unresolved or open recall. Give it a lil more time and things will be all right!

WOW 😳, Toyota refuses to buy back their Trucks ? In other words AVOID the new Generations of Toyota pickups at ALL COSTS !!! I’m Soooo Glad that I bought my 23 Tacoma TRD Off Road, double cab, long bed with the Premium and Technology pkgs. I was going to wait until 26-28 to buy the redesigned Tacoma until I found out that Toyota was dropping the proven, reliable and durable 3.5L Naturally Aspirated (NA) V6. I only drive 6-8K miles per year and at my age, I’m sure I’ll be driving my 23 TRD until I die. Then I know my wife will continue using it to plow our 5-7 feet of winter snow off our private road and driveway until her death. It took us about 15 years to save up enough money to pay cash for my TRD, but it’s our opinion that it was money well spent. With the skyrocketing costs of buying a new vehicle continuously rising, I’m sure in 10 years it’ll cost $100K for a SR Tacoma 4WD. Our (my) truck was a left over 23. We bought it on 2/29/24. For some reason no one wanted the 6’ bed and we needed it as we use our truck for work around our property. Personally I think the Long Bed looks more balanced than the 5’ bed, but that’s just me. The way Toyota is going, I’d be afraid to buy a Turbo model and if an automaker doesn’t trust its own vehicle to buy it back then something is Majorly wrong. I’d shy away from Toyota for now. I heard that Toyota is getting ready to Recall the new Tacoma’s because of transmission failure, both manual and automatic transmissions. Once again, I’m glad I was able to find my 23. The dealership took almost $5K off of the MSRP, gave me a Tri-fold tonneau cover, running boards, an 8 year 75K mile bumper to bumper extended warranty, free lifetime oil and filter changes and tire rotation. Town Toyota in East Wenatchee, WA are Great to work with and they’ve treated us fairly.

I would have sold the truck right straight to Honda and grab the Ridgeline no shaking no rattling lots of power it writes Beautiful very reliable can the fit and finish is way better when you go in you're not looking at a plastic Dash it's all soft soft touch materials so after a few years it doesn't rattle like the cheap plastic does. @@spencerjones7775 If people were a maintenance nut like I am, they’d easily hit the 1/2 million mile mark with their 3rd generation Tacoma’s. I bought a 78 Corolla in 83 for my college car. It was a Bare Bones Corolla. Vinyl seats and vinyl flooring. 4cyl, 4spd manual transmission, White with tan interior, 2dr. It had 70K miles on it when I bought it. I promptly changed the transmission and rear end grease and continued to do so every 30K miles. Back then conventional oil was all that was available. I changed the oil and filter every 3K miles with Valvoline. After Grad School I had a LOT of student loans, so I kept driving my Corolla. After my loans were paid off I wanted to buy a house, so I started saving money and since my Corolla was paid for, I kept driving it. After I bought my first house I decided to see how long the Corolla would last. At around 350K miles the rear end started howling, so I removed the rear seat and stuffed underneath and behind with very dense foam and replaced the seat. At around 400K miles the drivers seat was long overdue, so I got an old Los Angeles phone book and put it inside the worn out springs. I then used the same dense foam over the phone book, a pillow on top of the foam and bought a set of front bucket seat covers. The vinyl on the floor was worn down past the White paint and to the shiny metal surface, so I bought front floor mats. It finally died in 02 with 488K miles. It was burning a couple of quarts of “Honey” Oil between changes. The rear end was howling through the foam under the rear seat. I’m sure those gears were so sharp that I could have shaved my face with them. LOL. I promptly bought a new Camry and drove it until my needs changed in 11 and that’s when I bought a new RAV 4WD Limited with the 3.5L V6. My wife and I decided to sell my RAV and an older 4WD pickup to consolidate down to 2 vehicles. (A few years ago I bought her a new Outback for her 50th birthday. I would have preferred that she wanted a Toyota, but her entire family, my brother and sister all drive Outback’s and that’s what she wanted, so that’s what I bought for her. We were going to wait to buy a 2026-28 redesigned Tacoma but then I heard that Toyota was dropping the Proven, reliable and durable 3.5L V6 and going to a new 4cyl Turbo, so that’s when we decided to buy a 23 TRD. The rest is history. I retired early when I was 43, just a few months before meeting my wife. I now drive only 6-8K miles per year and because I’m almost 60 years old, I’m sure I’ll be driving my 23 TRD until I die. Yes we will have to replace my wife’s Outback someday, so I’ll start looking around for a low mileage 24 or older 4Runner Limited to replace her Outback and then she’ll be able to drive it until she passes away. Yes I’ve had other “fun” vehicles through the years but Toyota’s have always been my daily driver. Since my first Toyota in 83, Ive been driving Toyota’s for 41 years and counting. That’s not bad at all… 4 Toyota’s in over 40 years.

I feel like the criticism Toyota has brought upon themselves has less to do with recalls/dependability and more with cost. The Gen 3 Tundra is entering its 3 year I believe. First year for the Gen 4 Tacoma.. General rule is 3 years to work out the issues with a new platform. Let’s wait and see.. The “bulletproof” 3.5 liter has certainly had its issues as well. I think consumers rightfully expect more and are less tolerant when you get into these ridiculous prices.
