Hey Hagen! Do you usually put in the Ohio river on the Indiana side across from Louisville? I know you fish the mouth and up in the Kentucky river from the Ohio river also. That seams like a long drive from where you live.
I used to fish the opening of the salt creek in muldraugh KY as it dumped into the Ohio, you could see Indiana from there, but had to fish the KY side while at Ft. Knox. The bridge under 31W is fished A LOT but it has some decent cats.
Cool video. I am so torn between using frozen bait and fresh caught. I catch mainly gizzard shad. I get them on ice as you do, and within minutes dry and vacuum seal then immediately freeze. I am lucky to live on a lake with a good amount of Shad and I simply walk from the dock to my shed where I seal and freeze them.
Actually, just watched this video again. I commented on it two months ago. This is probably my third time watching it. Your videos are about some of the only ones that I watch over and over. I love everything that you and Landon does. It’s a real treat to watch you guys fish and when you bring your father also. And I also like watching you do the DIY stuff. When you built your rod rack and everything also. Thanks for such awesome videos! I’m still waiting on that Hagen Grubbs Fishing sticker! Ha ha. 🎣🐟🚤
Love it seeing you and son making those precious memories together.. keep up the great memories!! I sure miss those days with dad .. I learned so much from him ..
Hello and blessings, thanks for sharing. You blessed me and my sons. I followed your instructions and my rod handle came out just how I wanted. I appreciate your time. May God bless you and all your family and friends.
I’m a retired engineer. What you did to your trailer frame is what we used to call eyeball engineering. Bottom line is you’d do well to rethink that design. I personally don’t think that modification will last. Dangerous. Of course life is dangerous. Each person’s life will end at either heaven or the eternal Lake of Fire. “If you confess with your mouth ‘Jesus is Lord’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”- Romans 10:9. There’s a way to look up the max stress of that aluminum frame channel, then (after welding those cracks) add in another steel or aluminum member which will at least double the original strength- since the original design failed. Right now I’d guess that the cracked aluminum members have near zero strength, and a 3” angle iron’s strength isn’t enough. So, you see the danger: if that frame should crack and separate going 60 mph- with a 3000 lbs boat on it. Email me at Gracestudy@Comcast.net if you want to discuss this further. You probably have hundreds of people trying to add in their 2 cents already though!

This video just confirmed our suspicions just downriver around Evansville. It has been slow as hell for weeks and we thought that maybe they started to spawn a little early this year.
Hagen brother it’s been too long man. But the reason you can’t get the fish to hookup is your not putting “Gold Rush” on the cut bait. Brother hope y’all get to feeling better.
THANK YOU!! I was looking for ideas to build a rod storage box for my 1999 Carolina Skiff J16 that I inherited from my dad, and I think I can build one that would be similar to the console that you built. I just hope I can do as good a job as you have!
